When we returned home, I couldn’t help but feel exposed. For some reason Sadie thought putting me in clothes that showed my skin would be appropriate. However, despite my protests she insisted. I just hoped that showing off my skin while in public would not incite a feeling of jealousy in Andy. Although that thought does stir an unfamiliar feeling in me... but I’m not sure how I feel about it yet. I mean it’s not a bad feeling. I just don’t know what it means yet. Not only are the clothes uncomfortable, I have to keep pulling down the shorts in the back. Sadie says their length is perfectly normal, but I don’t see how showing off my entire legs and risking showing my backside is seen as “perfectly normal” or even how this is appropriate. Who would allow such clothes?  

Alas no matter how much I try to sneak away to change Sadie is determined for Andy to see me in this outfit. I know she means well but this is ridiculous. “It’s the style here in America Honey I promise.” Sadie says with a smile that says she is dead serious and sees nothing wrong with this.  

After some convincing she finally lets me sit down on the couch and just in time too because as soon as I sit down Andy comes through the door. 

 

Andy 

When I walk into my house, I see two things. Sadie beaming like she just saved the Luna’s life and my darling mate Emil sitting on the couch in skimpy clothes with a look like Sadie kidnapped him. I had to stop myself from laughing. I have to focus. This is serious. I force myself to straighten my face and decide to go with the oblivious act. I turn to Sadie, “hey guys did you eat dinner yet?” I quickly walk to the kitchen to hide my face when I see Sadie deadpan.  

I feel her come up behind me “didn’t you notice something... different?” I straighten my face and look back her with a thinking face, “uh no I don’t think so.” I return my focus to pretending to find something in the fridge to eat. Well, half pretending because I am hungry.  

I hear her walk back to the couch and hear a soft protest from Emil as Sadie pulls him from the couch. Only when I gather the ingredients for a sandwich and put them on the counter behind me do I look at both of them. Sadie’s smile was gone and replaced with a look of irritation. I couldn’t see Emil’s face because he was looking down as if in shame. Okay Andy, time to wrap things up. “Is something wrong?” My question was directed at Sadie but Emil, who was slightly behind her looked up and nodded quickly, his eyes desperate.  

Thankfully Sadie didn’t notice, “SOMETHING WRONG?!” okay maybe she’s more than irritated, “I spent all day making your mate look stunning for you and you don’t even notice!” Shit, I went too far. Apparently, Emil wasn’t expecting her outburst either because he was now shaking, and I wasn’t expecting it to mean so much to the female omega. 

I calmly turn to Emil, “hey baby why don’t you go to your room, and I’ll bring you something to eat okay?” He gives a quick nod and scurries away before Sadie can stop him. A few seconds later I heard the click of a lock come from his door, my cue that it is safe to continue.  

I face the still raging omega, “Sadie.” my voice is calm, “I didn’t mean to upset you I just simply think Emil is stunning no matter what he is wearing.”  

She doesn’t relax at all after my cheesy comment, “THAT’S CHEESY AS FUCK AND YOU KNOW IT.” I can see her breaking down as her anger turns to sadness and the rage in her eyes turns to tears.  

“Sadie are you okay?” Her head falls to my chest as if a weight has pulled her down, “I just wanted to impress you...” with that she begins to sob softly. She’s shaking so I walk her to the couch and have her sit down with me. I pull her head into my chest like a mother would do to a daughter after a messy break up. I stroked her hair. “When I heard you had found your mate” she hiccups, “I was happy... well I told myself I should be happy because you’re my friend.” She paused for a while, “but then it started to hurt so I thought meeting him would make it better but then I got ahead of myself and in a way maybe I wanted to live through him like if he dressed like me and you noticed it would be like if you noticed me but then you didn’t...”  

I only noticed when I met Emil and realized he was my mate that I realized how lonely I was. That’s what Sadie is. She’s a beautiful omega without a mate to notice her. When we were kids people thought we would end up being mates. I guess she thought so too. I knew she hid her emotions, but I didn’t realize it was this bad. “I’m sorry...” it’s so soft if I wasn’t a werewolf, I wouldn’t have heard it. I look down at her where her face has fallen to my stomach. “All of my friends have found their mates.... I’m the only one left and I’m so lonely...”  

I pet her head, “Sadie your mate will find you... you just have to be patient and wait for him because I can bet money, he is looking for you right now. Hell, he’s probably somewhere wondering if the omega he’s seen in his dreams is actually his mate because he doesn’t believe how lucky he is to have a mate as beautiful as so.” She lets out a sad laugh and sits up wiping her face, “I hope you’re right.” 

Before I can tell her that I know I’m right she’s standing up, “sorry for crying on you.” She doesn’t let me talk, “I have to go now.” and she stumbles out the door. If she had waited, I would have given her a ride home.  

I sigh and go back to the kitchen and make me and Emil some sandwiches. I walk up to his door and give it a soft knock, “she’s gone can I come in?” After a few seconds the door opens, and I push my way in. Emil sits back on the bed, and I join him after sitting down the plate of sandwiches on his nightstand. 

He pulls on the hem of his shorts, “they’re too tight.”  

I chuckle, “yeah and I can see though your shirt.” Emil snaps his face to me with a startled blush and quickly puts his arms over his chest. “I like Sadie, but I hate these clothes” he says with a bitter tone. I put a blanket around him and am delighted when he leans into me. “Andy are these clothes really normal in this country?” I can’t help but smile at the horrified look he gives me when I nod. “Yep, lots of girls like to wear clothes like this.” He shakes his head as if I’m lying, “but it’s so... so impractical.” I laugh, “well honey that’s just the style.” he shakes his head again. “Get out I’m going to change.” I’m shocked at his boldness, but I obey his wishes.  

I’m delighted he’s becoming more confident. He lets me in after he has changed into... my clothes? Oh now he’s very stunning. “Where did you get those?” I smirk at him as I sit on his bed and look at my blushing mate that looks like he has been caught in a crime. “Uh just some store me and Sadie went to.”  

I stand and walk over to him to tower over and look down at him, “oh really? Then why is it drenched in my scent?” Instead of averting his gaze and looking away as he usually does, he meets my eyes with is wide beautiful ones. “I uh.” His expression flicks between embarrassed and contemplative. I think he’s about to give up when his mouth opens to respond again but then his face does a complete 180 and switches to innocent, “oh then there must have been a mix up in the laundry. ”I catch a small nod as if he is confirming with himself that what he just said was a good response. 

“Really Emil a laundry mix up?” I’m shocked when he pouts at me but I play it cool. “You know your smell calms me!” I have to stop myself from smiling too much, “actually I didn’t know that.” 

I take a step closer to him and whisper in his ear, “you know Emmy you don’t have to steal my dirty clothes to get my scent while you sleep. You could just sleep with me.” I finish in a low rumbling voice and all I hear as a response from my darling is a squeak letting me know that I had won. “So, cutie what do you say?” I say in a seductive voice but then switch to a silly pleading baby voice, “can I sweep in your bed pwease.”  

I hear his beautiful giggle as he gently pushes me away no longer looking at me. Oh well baby steps. “Yeah, okay you can sleep with me tonight.” I give him a quick hug then run out of the room to get ready for bed.  

When I get back Emmy is all cozied up in his blankets all fast asleep. I carefully get under them and gently pull him into my arms selfishly burying my face in his hair. Man I love him so much.
