Elijah’s POV:
I have never in my entire existence bothered to hide the fact that I’m needy. The only person who it could potentially bother is Greyson, and he has never complained about my neediness or clinginess. Even if he did, I likely wouldn't change; he’s too addicted to fucking me to complain about me needing his affection and attention.
For that reason, I will also never hide my resentment for Greyson’s stupid customers. I can't deny that some of the women and men who come into his store are absolutely jaw dropping, but they also don’t usually see how gorgeous I am because I stay in the back.
Well, unless someone is getting too flirty. Then it’s my job to go out and demand my soulmate’s attention and make sure everyone knows that the entrancing salesman is taken by an equally sexy man. I’ll go out and kiss him or talk about the plans I have made for that night, which I can tell amuses him. It’s not funny to me, since he shouldn’t let them get that close anyway, but he argues that he needs to sell so he can take me out and blah blah blah.
Of course, I know that I’m the only one in his eyes. I know he’d never cheat on me or do anything to truly upset or hurt me, but he knows how to trigger my jealousy. It does not mean that I don’t have to sometimes handcuff myself to the desk to make sure I don’t go out and murder every attractive person who walks into the shop.
I’m stuck staring at the cameras and I’m in a pretty bad mood. First, my favorite breakfast place was closed today so I had to go to a different place. I know they’re closed on Tuesdays, but for some reason it slipped my mind. Then, because of my extra trip, I was too late for Greyson to fuck me before he opened the shop!
He knows I need to have sex at least three times a day, and he let me sleep in like an idiot instead of waking me up with a blow job or hot shower sex!
I love that he wants me to get enough sleep, but what about enough sex?!
It brings a small smile to my face when I see his irritation on the cameras. The cameras have audio, and the young woman he is helping is shopping for her girlfriend. Even though Greyson is a demon with demonic abilities, his trance is hard to push on people who have no interest in him or cannot be manipulated as easily. Even with his normal tricks, as in bringing up salary, wealth, and all of that shit, she still isn’t giving in.
Gay women are the hardest to trick, especially a committed one who is not feeling greedy because she knows what she wants. Plus, this one seems hard-headed; she did her research and even with Greyson’s influence, she is staying strong.
Serves him right for not opening a little later and participating in my form of a morning workout.
On the other hand, maybe his irritation will lead to some anger sex for lunch… we’ve both eaten so we have a lot of energy, and good anger sex will definitely make up for the neglect I experienced this morning from my soulmate.
The other sins often make fun of me when I’m needy for sex at home, comparing me to Lexi, the sin of Lust. They think it bothers me, but Greyson is the one who gets all flushed when I bring up how dominant he is in bed. Of course, he makes me eat my words when he shoves his dick down my throat and pounds me until I see stars.
Lately, I keep thinking about how it feels like something is missing. It’s almost as if a calming force is missing… something meant to temper us and keep us whole. Of course, Greyson is my beloved and I’d never tell him that because he is enough for me and always will be, but sometimes I feel like something is missing.
I push the thought away and turn back to the cameras, and Greyson does not seem too satisfied with the small purchase. Since this seems to be a done deal, I have no reason to keep watching, so I turn to the desk and see the stack of bills and other forms that Greyson has yet to go through. Not that he’ll ever go through them; I always do it since he cannot organize to save his life.
Thankfully, since I stay on top of keeping this damn office organized and make sure the papers are in order, it does not take me long to finish up the cleaning and reorganization. Since I’m such a good soulmate (and because Greyson is going to be frustrated when he closes the store for lunch), I open our drawer full of sex toys and grab out my favorite dildo to prep myself, as well as the bottle of lube that we have in there.
As I’m stripping down, a strange feeling overcomes me. I feel as though my heart is trying to burst from my chest, a wave of warmth and need crashing over me and pulling me under. The scent that fills the air is alluring, and I have to fight to keep myself from shifting and claiming whatever is making that amazing scent drift through the air.
I rush to put my clothes back on and make my way toward the front room and see that Greyson is gaping at the newest customer who has just entered the shop. I manage to compose myself and appear less eager before I get to my soulmate and lean against his side.
“Greyson?” I ask, and I see the guilt living in his eyes.
He must think I cannot feel the connection that is pulsating through me as I look at the beautiful man who is standing before us. The man in question, who I am confident is the missing piece of the puzzle that has left a strange void in my chest, is stunning. He has pale skin, gray eyes that seem to shine brighter in the lighting of the shop, and nicely styled brown hair.
“I feel it, too,” I whisper to Greyson, and I watch the tension leave his body and he gently squeezes my hand before approaching our third piece.
“How can I help you today?” Greyson asks, holding out his hand and putting on a strained smile. “I’m Greyson, the owner of this establishment.”
I can tell that he, too, is struggling to keep his composure. Even though we are both demons, Greyson’s demon side is much more prominent since he uses his abilities more consistently than I do, and he is naturally dominant between the two of us. If I had to guess, I’d assume that he is trying not to drag our boy to the back and shower him with the praise and affection that he gives me, all before fucking him against the desk.
Our soulmate gives a half hearted smile and shakes Greyson’s hand in return. “Levi,” he says softly, and I cannot help but relish in his melodic voice. “I’m here to buy an engagement ring for my girlfriend.”
I don’t stop the gasp that expels from my throat. “You’re what?” I exclaim, and I know my eyes are likely glowing green as extreme jealousy brews inside me, swirling in my gut. “Why?!”
Levi seems confused and backs away, obviously frightened by my outburst. “Uh, because we’ve been together for a long time… and I really like her.”
I huff in annoyance. “And we’ve been together for decades,” I mumble lowly enough so only Greyson can hear. “But we actually love each other. We don’t just ‘really like’ each other.”
Greyson lightly pinches my hip, nothing painful, just grabbing my attention and trying to get me to stop with my attitude. “Knock it off, E,” he scolds me.. "Sorry, he always gets like this when beautiful, young men say they're looking to get married. You've got your whole life ahead of you!" he says in a smooth voice, smiling when Levi visibly relaxes.
“I was worried I had done something wrong,” Levi says, laughing softly. “Uh, may I see your engagement rings?”
“No,” I mutter, making Greyson glare at me again.
He leans in close to my ear. “If you’re going to be a brat, go sit in the break room. We will discuss this later,” he whispers harshly.
I’m livid right now! I can’t believe that Greyson is entertaining selling a ring to our soulmate so he can go marry someone else. And a woman at that! But, Greyson will have my ass (in a not so fun way) if I fight with him in front of a client, regardless of him being our soulmate, so I purse my lips and shut up.
“Here we have 1.5 karat rings,” Greyson says, showing off the display case. “Now, I am unsure of your budget-”
“I don’t care about the price. I just want a ring that will get her to say yes,” Levi says with determination, cutting Greyson off.
I frown. “You love her that much?” I ask, clearly judgmental.
Levi almost sounds like he’s in pain when insisting he wants a ring to get her to say yes. He does not respond to my question verbally, instead just nodding.
“Why won’t you say you love her?” I demand a bit more forcefully, but Greyson stops me with a hand squeezing my shoulder.
“Elijah, last warning,” he growls as Levi awkwardly stares at the rings. “This one right here is a beautiful piece and won’t break your bank.”
Levi’s nose wrinkles in an adorable way as he looks at the ring. “Isn't five thousand too cheap for an engagement ring?”
“It’s the perfect price for a future divorce,” I say with a smirk, which I probably shouldn’t have done.
Greyson grips the back of my neck. “Go to the break room, right now,” he snarls, and I slap his hand away, which I also should not have done.
Eh, it’s not like I can change it now.
“Nothing I’m saying is wrong!” I snap, turning on Levi and laying my hand on the back of his neck, making him tense up.
Before he shoves me away, I leave a tiny mark on his neck. It’s a tiny “E” which showcases to other supernatural creatures that he is claimed by one of the Seven Sins and to back off.
“Fine, enjoy having a failed marriage,” I chirp, skipping to the back and ignoring the dark look Greyson gives me.
Guess my ass is going to be red later.
I stare at the cameras and watch as Levi chooses a ring that is way too expensive. I’m getting him a more expensive one when I convince Greyson to charm him with me and treat our human like a king and give him all of the jewelry he deserves.
Maybe he’ll get some ear piercings like I have. A tongue piercing would be nice, too, from the sounds Greyson makes when I suck him off with mine.
“Is there something on my neck?” I hear Levi ask, grabbing where my mark sits on his skin. “It’s burning.”
Greyson peeks at his skin and I know he’s trying to fight the urge to mark our soulmate on the other side of his neck. “Nope, I don’t see anything. I deeply apologize for his behavior… I don’t know what got into him.”
Someone needs to learn that overly religious humans see lying as a sin.
“Sir, I will assist you if you would like to look for a cheaper option,” Greyson tries, clearly hating the idea of our soulmate breaking his bank for some woman that I will not allow him to be with.
I won’t kill her… that’s not my style! Maybe just some underhanded threats, some light stalking… maybe I’ll ask Master Alastor to borrow a low ranking demon to follow her and make her go insane and scare my soulmate off.
“No, I want this one,” Levi insists.
Hm… stubborn. That will be fun to play with when we get him in our bed. Maybe he’ll get spanked more than I already do!
That’s wishful thinking; he may be stubborn but I don’t think he’s a brat the same way I am.
“I’ll give you fifty percent off,” Greyson blurts.
It’s not a secret that he is greedy in every situation unless it comes to his soulmate, so of course he is going to do the same to our other one. He is nothing but generous with me, and now he will do the same for our Levi.
Levi isn’t pleased. “Why?” he asks skeptically, and I can sense unease from him.
It is almost as if he is afraid of Greyson and his offer.
“Well, I suppose I owe it to you due to the harassment you experienced in my store. I deeply apologize for that, sir,” he says in a deeply remorseful tone.
Did he just blame me?!
I huff as Levi pays for his ring and then bids Greyson a good day, thanking him shyly.
As soon as he is gone, Greyson locks the door to the shop and turns the “Open” sign around to the closed side. He stomps back toward the breakroom, and I look up from the cameras to see him glowering at me, his eyes dark. If I did not know how much he loves me, I would be absolutely terrified.
“Fancy seeing you back here,” I chirp, my tone overly upbeat. “Don’t you have a shop to run, my love?”
Greyson doesn’t crack a smile, but I am not too surprised by that. “Pants and underwear. Off. Now.”
I shake my head. “No, I’d prefer to stay clothed.”
“Elijah, I am so pissed off right now,” he growls, crossing his arms as his skin darkens.
His demon is definitely starting to take control, and while I know I can put a stop to it with our safe word, I am not afraid of my soulmate. Greyson will not hurt me in any way I don’t want, whether he is in his demon mindset or not.
“I know, I overstepped,” I mumble, looking at my feet. “Can we wait until we get home? I don’t want to do this right now.”
Greyson sighs and cups my chin in his hand. “We can wait,” he says, his tone a bit gentler. “But do not think that I will go easy on you just because we are waiting until later tonight.”
“I would never think that,” I say, standing up and falling into my lover’s arms. “He belongs with us, Greyson.”
His chest rises and falls as he sighs deeply and squeezes me tight. “I know, and he will find his way to us. Our souls are all intertwined but we don’t want to scare him away. He seems a bit fragile, so we need to be gentle and careful.”
I hum, closing my eyes. “I want him now.”
“Well, patience has never been your forte.” Greyson squeezes my butt and pecks my forehead. “And it is not mine, either. Let’s close up and go home. I need to warm my hands up on your ass, baby.”
“Horny fucker,” I mumble, moving to clean the office up as quickly as I can.
