Wednesday 2nd of November 2016 Apla Spitiko, Oulof Palme Street, Athens
Yearningly I look up to the Glass windows of the building on the other side of the street. We sit outside on one of the few set tables. At the beginning of November and during lunchtime it's quite empty here. Only during the evening, you can watch the guest. Not like I'm doing that all the time, merely on the weekends my friends an me are making bets on how which date will end.
Now I hope to see on of the familiar faces behind the glass. Sadly, I don't see anyone while we sit here. A plausible reason is that everyone is working during this time, except Taurus he is unemployed. That's why he is lying around all day and consumes air and electricity.
While we wait for our order I attempt to establish some rules, because rules in a friendship, at the working place and in the flat share are most important. Though my friends struggle to follow the rules and to define new ones is even harder.
Libra and Sagittarius think it's false imprisonment, Leo didn't want to change his behaviour, Scorpio even less, Aquarius felt attacked due to his sexuality, though I never said anything about it, Taurus wouldn't comply to the rules anyway just as Aries, Virgo and Gemini, Capricorn abstained himself from voting and Pisces is the only one that follows the rules, but that's because he is my best friend.
"While driving here I've been thinking. There are things that we should be at one with. First of all, the car. Since the both of us are eager to drive around with it I suggest that we take turns. Secondly, I think at lunchtime we should try out a different restaurant each day, so we can filter out the best ones. This might take some time, but we can figure out a tighter selection. Then..." Toby leans back smiling and activates his headset.
"Norman can you amuse me with some other entertainment?" Suddenly he looks shocked, sits up and asks Norman another question. "What did you say again?"
His left eyelid begins to twitch, like every time when he is nervous or annoyed, thus always. I make this What's-wrong face which is known worldwide. He looks around as if he just heard a secret.
"Norman can connect with my phone and play the music there. That means this thing also works as a wireless headphone." Tobias points to his left ear, then he remembers the real matter again. "Marcos live doesn't need rules!"
"You want to say we all should live in an Anarchy?"
"No", the waitress that brings our food interrupts him for a moment. Tobias ordered a bowl with fries and a salad, to mix it and create his famous Frysalad. I'm content with a salmon filet. "Don't' look at me like that", he says before shoving the fork in his mouth. "What I wanted to say," he continues "is that laws and guidelines are indeed important, but I don't want anyone to define where I go for lunch. We go wherever it seems to be good and if it actually is good we'll go there regularly. We will find something eventually."
I don't argue, because I have to admit to myself, that he is right.
