The Man:

''No need to worry, your friends are okay''

Neo:

''Okay... and who are you?, are you the truth that I've been seeking?''

The Man:

"The truth?, Maybe, all I know is that I'm simply here to explain our beginning."

Indicating to himself and (Neo) with his hands...

Neo:

"What beginning?... Wait...By saying, Our beginning, Do you mean to tell you're a human like us?."

The Man:

"Don't rush things, for me to help you, I first need to know what happened since then."

Neo:

"What do you mean, are you saying that you want me to tell you our history?."

The Man:

"No need for you to provide a description, for I can obtain precise details of our history by extracting the information directly from you."

Neo:

''And how would you do that?''

The Man:

''All I need to do is put my hand on your head''

Neo:

''Well then, go ahead''

And then the man placed his right hand on top of (Neo's) head and started to see the history of the world, and he started to mumble to himself in a quiet voice saying:

"hmm... previous lives... five to be precise, let's see them..."

Neo:

''So you were able to see my life as well as those that came before me?''

The Man:

"Yes..."

Neo:

''So what are you exactly?''

The Man:

''Well, technically I am neither human nor program, you see I was once human like you but my body has long since gone and what you see right before you is... to put it simply a piece of human consciousness''

Neo:

And who are you exactly ''And whose mind did you use to be a part of?''

The Man:

''Yes, my apologizes I have yet to introduce myself, I am a part of the consciousness of the man who created the simulation that you know now as the matrix.''

Neo:

''But I thought the matrix was created by those that call themselves the architect and the oracle''

The Man:

''Yes, that is true, a lot has changed since last I saw, but its origin was my creation, I am the first (The One), so to speak"

Neo:

''How so?''

And while the man was explaining the situation, he snapped his fingers, and the events of the past started to appear around them as if they were in the middle of those events as they were happening, and every time the man went into more detail the clearer there surrounding seemed to be... pointing out the events that helped most in providing a better explanation of what the world was and how it came to be.

The Man:

"Okay... as you can see in that time the world began engrossing itself more and more in to the digital world, from teaching, interviews, orders and even paying and accounting, basically almost anything one can imagine could have been found in the digital world, based on that, tech companies and even ordinary people that wanted to provide an even deeper experience and with better technology sought out the latest research, to the point where one of the companies built a complete electronic building containing screens, devices, and multiple electronic programs, in order to immerse people in those worlds, while other companies built other devices that were similar in comparison, all walked the path... and all failed in captivating all five scenes of a human completely in to the digital world, and at that time the people saw this kind of world to be a myth, and something that can never be achieved, as it was also seen as something too expensive, especially in comparison to its nominal rate of success, to the point where those that still kept trying to change that so called fictitious world into a reality, where viewed as fools, but we didn't care... because in achieving something of this sort wouldn't be taken lightly by the world, and something this magnificent needs great effort and sacrifice in order to achieve... i mean, imagine from using such technology you would be able to create any world you want or desire and make it a reality, for example, to be a hero in your own world, or to have adventures tailored to your specific wants and needs, or to be able to have fame and power, or you can even penetrate space and beyond should you so choose, for that I spent 25 years of my life in building and researching in an effort to making that world a reality, living with my parents and using their garage as a lab for all my experiments, and was extremely afraid of failing... and that all the scarifies I made would be for not, but fortunately I found a way to make that world come true and with it my dreams, I knew that the method everyone was taking was to create an extremely complicated devise while also be compressed and small in size... in which it would be available for all to get and with ease, and at reasonable prices... fortunately i realized that humans had just that, but they did not or for some reason were unable to improve upon using its complete capabilities... and do you know what that thing is?"

Neo:

''The brain?!"

The Man:

"Exactly, and based on that theory, I started innovating a machine that could understand the thinking patterns of humans, and from that, I was able to create a program that was able to shape the ideas of people into pictures that would appear on screen as if it were a picture book, but that wasn't enough for me,

for I wanted that world to seem as real as possible, so I took the better parts of the program, modified and applied them to 2 new programs..."

Then he asked (Neo) a question:

"Can you guess what they were?"

Neo:

"The (Architect) and the (Oracle)."

The Man:

"Yes, but only to a certain point for the latter, the latter being the (Oracle), you see at first the program wasn't very precise and detailed... I imagined that it would separate the five senses and apply them on screen, but only after I split it into 2 programs that it became easier for it to read, and one of those programs you came to know as the (Oracle), and its specialty was to gather the thoughts and ideas of people then translate them to the other program that you now know as the (Architect)... the program that would shape and build the world desired, detailing and making it as if it were real, but even those 2 programs lacked 2 of the 5 senses, those of which were the senses of touch and smell... I put all my effort in trying to evolve the program, you know as the (Oracle), to be able to better translate and show those 2 senses after building the desired world... but unfortunately for the smell, I was only
able to get a 30% feel out of it, and only 60% feel for touch... there I was forced to take a different approach, which was to connect the human brain directly to the digital world..."

Then Neo interrupted by asking:

"You mean the (Core)?!"

The Man:

"No... what we did was insert a chip from in between the eye and the eye socket to the brain... which was fairly a simple surgical procedure for those that wanted it..."

And then spoke to himself audibly:

" Although, I'm not sure the reason of how the chips program changed and evolved to that degree, maybe it was due to human breeding?... or the (Core)?...."

And shook his head baffled while adding:

"Hmm, I'm not sure..."

Neo:

"What do you mean?... what are you talking about exactly?!..."

The Man:

"I think the chips program evolved to the program you now know as (Merovingian)... at any rate let's not digress too much from the main subject... the reason for the chip was to strengthen the five senses so that the (oracle) would better absorb them and at a higher rate, and by that, linking the brain and the program, I.e. (oracle), and making it stronger..."

Then he realized saying:

"But the evolution of the chips simple program to the program (Merovingian) is truly amazing..."

Then the man continued by saying:

" At any rate, the chips program at first was only able to provide an 84% feel from all 5 senses, which had still not reached my expectation, but finally and after a lot of thinking and experimenting, I noticed something absent from my mind for a long time, I did not notice it in its simplicity, which was the capsule. the capsule was a container filled with a ratio of water to salt... So that a person can float inside it when housed and give a person the feeling of being entranced, rested and in a state of meditation... to make a person feel as if he was living in a real-world and not an imagined one whilst floating at the center of absolute darkness after closing the capsules door..."

Neo asked:

''Wait... capsules?... I thought those were called sensory deprivation tanks?...''

The man:

''Yes, they used to be, but after they became an interracial part of our product as a whole, and that it was a much more condensed form of the sensory deprivation tank, it was re-branded to be known throughout the world as a capsule...''

Then continued by saying:

"And only after adding the chip and its program with the other two did I succeed, and that was where everything started... the first thing I did was to take out a patent in order to keep my invention and its specifics safe from being stolen, and after making it public, thousands of company tried to work with me... and at that time there was a company well known and highly regarded as being the number one company throughout the world for its technological innovation, which was called (singularity), it was a company that specialized in the technological world and its evolution, in addition to it having branches in over 100 countries, thereby making it much easier and faster in producing, distributing, and making the product available to the public as soon as possible, and after 6 months from signing the contract to work with them, the company started renting those services in certain locations from all the countries around the world, and that all people had to do was rent a capsule and buy the chip, but the problem we faced shortly after was that people wanted to remain in the capsules for longer periods of time..."

Neo interrupted to ask:

"Wait a second, didn't you face other sorts of problems at the time?... I mean after buying the chip?, because like you said, the people were able to buy them which was the important part since the people could build the capsules themselves and even rent or sell them at a cheaper price, and thereby benefiting from the chips, wouldn't that be considered as much more problematic than them wanting to stay for longer periods inside the capsule?"

The Man replied saying:

"No, because we foresaw that, that's why we added a sensor within the chips specifically made to only work when they were around and near our capsules, and made to only connect to our capsules, but that wasn't one of the main problems... and if we gave it a thought, then there would be a lot of problems that you would find to branch out from this product, but most didn't impact in the change that would have led us to our current situation, the main problem we faced however, was that people wanted to extend their stay within the capsule, which in doing so, would harm the body, due to lack of food and water without even feeling it... and to satisfy customers, we expanded and developed a way for people to be able to stay in the capsules for longer periods, a period that reached one to two months, with little to no effect."

Then continued by saying:

" And other companies continued studying and researching different ways of creating new unique styles of the digital world... and what's worse was that we encountered a lot of Malicious rumors that would try to distort the image of our digital world and the efficiency of our capsules... that they would cause harm to people... there was also one company that reached a very low standard... were it exploited the weak-minded to plant a virus in the system of our main branch so that it would reduce its efficiency and realize the rumors..."

Neo:

"How did it achieve that?"

The Man:

"As I said, the company exploited those that stood against this type of technology and used them to implant a virus in the mainframe of our main branch, which led to the confinement of the people within the capsules, and making them unable to exit the system, while also stopping any outside interference from helping those people and getting them out of the digital world... and at that time it was shown that that only happened in one place, which was the main branch, and unfortunately we did not know what was to come, and that that was the beginning of the end..."

And The Man added:

"And as you can see, we had 50 thousand locations around the world, which was able to house around 2000 to 5000 people, which depended on the size of each location, for at that time about a third of the world were using those capsules to simulate their reality, in addition, to ensure safety, every location had its server."

And then The Man while tensing up added:

"We always carried out strict inspections of all workers, employees and customers, and on everyone that came in and out of each location, In addition, we had the guards armed to ensure the safety and protection of all the people that enter the capsule from any external threat, but even with all these precautions, someone managed to infiltrate the main branch and implant the virus into the system by inserting a USB into the hardware... unfortunately only after it was too late that we discovered that one of the guards that was charged in protecting the people was the one who carried out this despicable act, and accordingly the company that bribed this guard spread the news quickly among the people, even though the situation had just started and was highly classified and not known to the the public, denying us any opportunity to remedy the situation and solve the problem... which led the matter to peoples complaints, And the cause of widespread panic and protests... even though we tried to ease the situation as much as possible, things still went from bad to worse, and whenever we tried to overcome and control the virus by introducing something that would inhibit it, it out thought it and as a result, developed more and more...So much so that it was able to break the barrier and enter the Internet world and connect itself to all of our servers around the world... and at that point we had no choice but to shutdown our main server completely, which would be immediately after connecting the people within the capsule to another program... where we can then bring them back to consciousness without being harmed..."

Neo interrupts him inquiring:

" By that, are you telling me that all the devices around the world had stopped while people were still in them?"

The Man:

"yes"
