The police failed to pin the murder on Dr. Gum-San.
They decided to restart their whole investigation.
From the beginning, fresh eyes, fresh minds.
Black Slate. Step One.
The investigators started to look into the following details:
===== [MINI COOPER]
The detectives reviewed the contents in the Mini Cooper
as found on the day of the murder, one year ago:
-- Red-White-Blue Tote Bag
-- A deflated Yoga Ball
-- Miscellaneous items commonly found in cars
...Wait.
The Yoga Ball was deflated.
Meaning, someone had to remove the air plug
in order to release 'CO' into the Mini Cooper.
So - where was the air plug?
===== [LILY]
The investigators interviewed Lily's classmates.
They all shared she was upset about her father's affair.
Even so, Lily was an understanding girl.
Lily still had two younger siblings to care for.
She eventually overcame her disappointment
and focused on her sport activities to cheer up.
The classmates also mentioned to the detectives:
Lily planned to meet up with them within a few days.
They were all going to take part in a sports event.
However, Lily was found dead before it could happen.
The classmates believed: Lily would not commit suicide.
===== [SUI-FAN]
Friends of Sui-Fan mentioned the wife had been enraged,
by Dr. Gum-San's affair with Mistress Shara-Lee.
Sui-Fan often went on a rampage, mad shopping sprees.
Burning tons of money on expensive clothing, limited editions bags,
five star meals, almost anything her credit card could get into.
Eventually, Sui-Fan's friends convinced her to stop. To let go.
They even encouraged her to seek out help from a professional.
The friends were able to connect Sui-Fan with a trust psychologist.
Prior Sui-Fan's death, it was noted her mental condition greatly improved.
Her friends believed: Sui-Fan would not commit suicide.
===== [Mistress SHARA-LEE]
The Detectives looked into Shara-Lee.
They had their suspicions. Was she involved?
Did she benefit from the death of wife and daughter?
Alas, she was clean.
On the day Sui-Fan and Lily were murdered,
Shara-Lee was working in a university lab.
Many co-workers account for her presence.
Even the distance from her lab and the crime scene
was too far to be considered possible within a short time span.
Despite the affair,
the mistress was not directly involved.
She was let go.
Questions remained with no answers in sight:
--- 'Who moved the Yoga Ball from the Fitness Room to the Mini Cooper?'
--- 'Who took away the air plug?'
--- 'Who was the real murderer?'
