I started walking parallel to the downflowing stream.
I had already managed to place the Sadako back in my inventory. Thankfully I discovered that I don’t necessarily need to touch my things to place them back in the inventory. I just had to shout ‘Store back to inventory’ and the system automatically placed it back in.
So thankfully I could leave the forest without having to leave the poor Sadako in these woods.
Now the main problem was how do I leave this forest?
Heading in a random direction into the woods is a very bad idea. I had literally no clue where I was or where the near human settlements were. So instead of going in a random direction and ending up going even deeper into the woods to only get lost, I decided to follow this stream.
This was a very clean freshwater stream, so if I followed this stream I would eventually run into a huge lake or a river where maybe I could eventually meet some human beings.
Also, humans tend to make settlements near water bodies. So if I want to escape the woods, following this stream was a perfect idea.
I watched a few MyTube video clips of ‘Survival in the Jungle with Bear Grease’. It had randomly popped into my feed when I was scrolling through. Usually, I would rather cuss MeTube for suddenly recommending me interesting videos late at night when I am about to be sleeping.
Instead of sleeping, I end up watching dumb videos, like ‘How to wash your dog?’, ‘Is Roger Martha’s father or not?’, ‘You laugh You die Videos’ ‘How to survive in the jungle alone’ ‘Return to Monke’ etc.
But here we are!
For once some of the videos really came in handy.
As I walked following the stream, I looked around curiously looking around the forest. This forest was really pretty and the air was so fresh. Living in the city my whole life I never once breathed such fresh air ever.
I went camping in the woods back when my old workplace arranged a picnic for the sake of it. You know all the drama about team bonding and crap. We went to nearby woods to camp and my god that was packed with human beings.
There were numerous campfires and smoke was everywhere.
Humans and their kids were making quite the racket.
Potato chip wrappers, empty bottles, crushed beer cans, etc. were all littered everywhere.
That place felt more like a littered garden park than a woods to camp. Fucking hated every second of that goddamn camp.
Meanwhile, this place was devoid of human intervention.
As I was walking down the stream thinking about what to do next, I suddenly spotted something.
There in the distance, I saw a little creature who was drinking stream water.
I quickly took cover behind the trees and then moved closer to this creature.
The creature looked like a literal furball and it had long ears. Two little paws and a small cotton ball of a tail. One glance and you could say it is a rabbit.
But I wasn’t surprised by the adorable fluffball's appearance; rather I was intrigued seeing that there were literal horns growing from the rabbit’s forehead. The horns looked similar to the horns belonging to reindeer although smaller in size.
“Now this really is starting to feel like a fantasy world,” I muttered to myself.
I stared at the bunny still busy drinking and quietly muttered, “Stat info”
But nothing happened, the system didn’t respond.
Maybe I was a little too far away.
Anyway, I should just walk around and follow the stream- WAIT A MINUTE!
This scenario is quite familiar.
In every isekai anime and even among a lot of generic RPG games this scene has occurred all the time. When a new mc/player enters the new world they then encounter a low-level monster as their first battle. These monsters are basically low-level and quite easy to defeat.
Also, killing these monsters gives exp as well as monster drops, useful for beginner players like me.
Also, the horns could be a little tricky to avoid, but it was still a small rabbit.
This is another world but there was not much difference between this rabbit and the rabbit back in my world. The only difference they had were the horns, except that everything looked the same.
I also then checked my physique.
I have a muscular body and razor-sharp claws that could be useful to fight.
Not to mention I have a skill [Slashing Claws] which managed to put a gash on a sturdy tree back then.
After sizing myself up and steeled my resolve to defeat the rabbit. I started quietly going around the trees heading towards the blind spot of the rabbit.
The rabbit was still drinking the water as well as washing its face with stream water.
With its back against me, I slowly approached the rabbit with my arms wide open.
I was a bit nervous that I was about to try to kill this poor creature. It was the first time I was trying to kill a creature that wasn’t a cockroach or a rat. But for some reason, I didn’t feel bad for trying to kill this poor creature rather that I was actually excited about my first battle.
I’ll try to end its life in one swoop and without much suffering.
But as I was getting closer the horned rabbit suddenly was alerted.
I quickly dashed towards the rabbit with my arms wide open like some sumo wrestler. I wanted to block its path with my arms as much as I could.
The rabbit sprinted towards the left side trying to avoid me and headed towards the woods. I was rather quick to change my direction heading to intercept the fleeing rabbit.
To be honest, I was quite quick on my feet. Maybe it was the adrenaline or I am really fast. As I got closer to the horned rabbit and blocked its way, ‘You are not going anywhere,’
But suddenly the rabbit leaped headfirst as its horns pointed towards me to ram my head on.
“Motherfuc-”
I quickly swung my claws trying to deflect the incoming rabbit’s horn.
‘Fuck! I should have used the slashing claws’
I was ready for the worst possible scenario, where my arm will be turned into a bloody pulp.
And with a loud thud, my claws collided with the horns
*Crackle*
To my surprise, my claws easily managed to destroy the horns if they were made of twigs.
After destroying the horns, my claws were still in momentum which then hit the rabbit with a powerful impact with a slap.
The slap was so hard it literally felt like playing volleyball as the rabbit went flying through the air. There were blood and guts flying across as the rabbit flew across the field. With a loud plop, the rabbit crashed against a nearby tree trunk. The rabbit had clearly turned into a bloody pulp.
I was still standing in a state of shock and surprise as I watched the bloody carcass of the dead rabbit.
Not long ago it was just a cute white furball drinking water and now it looked like a deflated red balloon of guts.
“What the hell! I am really quite strong.” I said to myself smiling.
I was covered in blood from head to toe. There was a literal rabbit intestine stuck in my fingernails, but I wasn’t really bothered by it.
I saw a few murders back in the prison where I lived.
I saw literally a cellmate kill another cellmate with a fork right down their ear to the brain.
The first time I saw it I vomited. But later seeing multiple murders every week, I got used to it.
I guess this is also why I didn’t feel bad for trying to kill a cute rabbit like that.
Suddenly a screen popped in front of me.
[Gained 5 Exp]
I guess it's about time I try to farm some exp.
