BROTHERS DEEP DISH
Looming high in the clouds above, a two-story villa rested in tranquility. A nymph spilling water down a colorful waterfall stretched around the magnificent building. Glass walls exposed a garden room filled with veggies and bushes of fruit surrounded by tons of flowers.
A kitchen fit for a master chef, styled in black and gold marbling, expressing a luxurious and sleek design. A living area lies through the frosted glass walls, embracing home comfort and free expression with bright colors and unique art, similar to 80s design.
A swift breeze rushed through the opened windows. The front door handle wiggled open. As they walk inside, the silence is broken by the commotion of Jae, Jey, and Jay in mid-conversation.
“What is your problem?” Jay asked Jey as they walked to the leather Lawson, moving pillows to a nearby armchair.
“There is nothing wrong with anchovies and pineapple on a sauce-less pizza. It’s still a pizza!”
“Are you out of your mind, man! Jey asked,
“You just broke the many rules of pizza. It’s so bad that I may have to disown you as my brother. You're a pizza lawsuit waiting to happen!”
“Must you two always disagree on the weirdest things? Not to mention, I have to listen to this nonsense all the time!”
Jae grumbled, getting too comfortable on the loveseat and placing his feet on the end table.
“He’s the one being difficult! And why couldn’t we get a pizza on the way here? I’m starving!” Jay whined.
“Stop whining. Bossman said to come straight and not stop anywhere, so that’s what I did. It’s not my fault that your stomach is in an empty crevice,” Jey teased, wiping his sunglasses with his shirt.
“Now that I think about it, something smells delicious! My mouth is starting to water!”
Jey started sniffing the air aching for confirmation.
“Oh! Why did you have to tell me that? Now my stomach growls are louder because the pains are more of a warning than a suggestion because of you!”
Jay complained while holding his stomach.
“Wait, does that mean the Bossman is treating us to dinner? Did we finally do good? Are we finally getting some respect!”
Jay and Jey look at each other for a moment; and suddenly jump up for joy. Jae glanced at his brother with annoyance.
“If you two start busting out into a song, I will seriously lose my patience. You will be the only two dumbasses to suffer from the chaos! Jae warned with a side glare.
“You don’t always have to be a sour big brother. You're also a part of the J-Trio, which means you're the guest of honor on this joyous occasion. Jey explained to Jae.
“Yeah! Everything we do, we do as a team! Join our happiness, live in the moment for once.” Jay chirped with determination.
Jae sat in silence as his brother stared him down, anxious for an answer. He then smiled, unfolding his arms, and stood up.
“Well, we don’t always get moments like this to relax and enjoy ourselves. It has been a while since we practiced and loosened up a bit.”
The brothers aligned themselves in the middle of the living room. Jae dug into his right pocket and pulled out a hairbrush, using it as a microphone.
Jae suddenly struck a pose, ushering a harmonizing flow from his brothers. Jae then started singing into his brush.
My nightmares are now my reality,
Each and every day, you are here with me!
Nobody believes or hears J-Tri,
Hear my prayers, Kreator! Help me, please!
I’m crazy, losing my mind!
This isn’t love. I must be on an incline!
I can’t believe it. It’s driving me crazy.
Cause you're so needy and so damn lazy!
Get off the floor and do that shit!
You’re not incompetent, so get a grip!
I could just chill in my free time!
And get my papers stacked high!
No more nagging and scheming on me.
No more empty pockets and nothing to eat!
You may be here today and going tomorrow.
So go on and live the life you borrowed!.
Be the truth in you!
The very thing they fear!
The boys ended the verse with their heads facing the ground. Jae dropped his brush like a mic-drop.
The kitchen door slid open in slow motion, breaking the silence in the room. The brothers all turn their attention to the figure standing in the doorway.
High heels accompany long legs, dark stockings, and a black dress with gold trim and laces compliment the doll-like design. A beautiful face exposed a young lady with red lipstick, pushing a cart holding the 1st-course meals.
“Dinner is served,” the hostess said in a calm and sultry voice while standing next to the decorated dining table.
The brothers stared in awe at the presence of beauty and glorious food arrangement.
“You heard the lady. Move it!”
Jae said, trying to snap his brothers back to reality.
He pushed his brothers towards the dining room table. They scrambled to get themselves ready to be served properly. While trying to place a napkin on his lap, Jay knocked over a piece of silverware onto the ground.
“Oops,” he said nervously.
He attempted to pick up the fallen utensil. He stopped as he watched a slender pair of long legs facing his direction. The hostess crouched down under the table, revealing a gentle face.
“No worries, I’ll get that for you,” the hostess said.
He stared as her luscious lips spoke to him. He watched as the beautiful maid picked up the silverware he had knocked onto the floor.
The hostess replaced the fallen spoon gently into Jay’s hands. She gave him a sweet grin as she spoke.
“There you go and try your best to keep that under control, or else I’ll have to come down here again and assist.”
Jay is speechless, staring at her natural beauty in awe. He felt a sudden kick from under the table.
“Ow! Oh-yes, I’m sorry for the trouble,” Jay said while correcting his attention to her eyes.
“No problem at all,” she said while returning above the kitchen table.
Jay continued to watch as she walked away.
“I’ll be in the kitchen while you boys enjoy your meal, call me if you need anything else.”
“Yes, ma'am, we definitely will!” Jay exclaimed.
Jey smacked Jay in the back of the head.
“Ow! What! I’m just answering the lady!
“You know what you're doing!” Jey grumbled.
The maid disappeared into the kitchen.
“Oh, My Universe! Why does Bossman have such a beautiful woman in his kitchen?” Jay wondered.
“She's probably from the maid service that you call to come and take care of the house. They usually don’t cook, but I guess Bossman decided to pay extra for the food service package or something.” Jae said while grabbing a butter roll.
“How can I get a girl like her? I’d definitely be broke but happier than the next.” Jay fantasized aloud.
“We can all agree she was lovely, but this food looks delicious. We should enjoy it while it’s still nice and hot, yeah?”
Jey said while reaching for the three-cheese lasagna.
“You two should wait for the Bossman to get to the table first. This is his home, after all. It would be disrespectful to eat before him.” Jae warned.
“But we are starving like crazy! I’m sure the Bossman will understand the circumstances, and since when do you even care about respect?” Jay said while grabbing the lasagna from Jey as he passed it around
“Your funeral! I may be stubborn and dramatic, but at least I’m not stupid!” Jae said, placing his jacket on his chair, then brushing his hair.
Jae suddenly turned his attention to the sound of creaking footsteps from the kitchen. Jey and Jay froze ask they finished praying over their meals.
Through the glass door stood a silhouette of a very tall figure. The glass door slid open, revealing a tall, sturdy man holding a cheesecake platter and marbled brownies. The boys watched intently with significant intimidation. He stood in spirit, full-blown naked.
