School was ok and she had made some friends - particularly this one girl named Olivia - she met at cheer practice. Everything was going ok so why did she still feel bad? She thought she had gotten over everything, but an actual conclusion rather than this open-ended ending would have been better for her heart. She wished she could turn back time and redo what she had done, literally anything other than what she had done. She also wished she could have spoken to Blair one last time to tell her the truth and apologize for her betrayal.
“I’m so fucking stupid” ava said aloud by accident
“You sure are Ava and did you just curse? Our prim and proper princess wasn’t all that proper huh?” Olivia smirked like this was a grand achievement she had just witnessed.
“Oh, shut up Olivia. I already told you that’s not what I wanted my image to be its just what everyone around me decides.”
“Oh yeah? Well, you didn’t seem to fight it very hard and just hearing that right now makes it all the clearer you go along with it without fighting back” Olivia said seriously and she was never serious
That hit Ava right in the gut and remembered back to the incident with Blair and didn’t have a retort to say to the quippy Olivia. They both sat in silence till it was time to go to there next class. They near the front of the building when Ava spotted something very familiar in the corner of her eye. It was Blair, she couldn’t believe THE Blair was right at the front of the class. Her mind completely went blank for split second until Olivia called her name.
“AVA! You ok princess? You went all spacey there for a minute”.
“Yeah, yeah I’m ok just thought I’d recognized someone for a second”.
“Well, if you say so” said Olivia indifferently..
Ava was still in shock from the situation unfolding in front of her. Why was Blair here? Just when she was trying to forgive herself and move on albeit unsuccessfully. She thought about a hundred things but by the time she knew it Blair was gone, and it was like she was never there in the first place. Ava decided to leave her thoughts be and focus on her next class for the time being, but that’s when all hell broke loose on an unsuspecting Ava.
“Ok class we have a new student. I know its well into the semester, but welcome them anyway”
“H-H-Hello I’m B-Blair Reeve....”
At this introduction Ava lost all sanity and her brain exploded. Blair really was here and, in her class, no less. She wanted to curse whatever cruel fate was letting this happen. On the other hand though, Olivia who was right next to Ava was confused why she had gone pale, white like a piece of paper.
“You, ok? You look like you’ve seen a ghost.”
“Yeah, I’m ok I just know the new student.” said Ava dejectedly.
“Oh Yeah? Well, I’ll call her over so she can sit with people she knows, and you can introduce us to the dark horse”
Ava couldn’t comprehend what Olivia had just said but she knew she couldn’t handle it and I’m sure neither could Blair. It was to late though as Olivia had already called to her. Blair looked super uncomfortable and uneasy but still shuffled her way over to where they sat in the lecture.
“You owe me one princess” winked Olivia
Ava wanted to die. She wanted to die and disappear into a hole forever. Not only is Blair here, but now she was going to meet Olivia as well as have their grand reunion in this stupid lecture hall.
Blair sat down next to Olivia with confusion written on her face and asked apprehensively:
“Do I know you?”
“No, you don’t know ME, but our all-star here said she did, so I called you over here for her” Olivia looked on triumphantly
Blair was as confused as ever and looked over to see the woman who supposedly knew her. She looked at her with familiarity but couldn’t place where she knew her from until she spoke.
“Hi Blair………. it’s me Ava” Ava said as quietly as possible
Blair sat there dumfounded and then her expression turned to that of hatred. She almost reflexively stood up to leave but remained seat when she remembered she was in class.
“Fuck you”
That was all Blair said just those two words and she turned back facing the teacher. Ava and Olivia stared at her in bewilderment until Olivia burst out laughing like she just heard the best joke of her life. Ava was beyond embarrassed. Or was it shame? Or perhaps sad. Blair was certainly still averse to Ava even after they had their reunion. Ava at least thought they could go back to square one, but maybe that wasn’t the case. Maybe this for the best? It wouldn’t have been that easy. If anything, she felt like deserved this treatment and felt it necessary to earn her way back into Blair’s life. While Avas mind was turning Olivia had turned her way toward Blair and tried conversating with her.
“Man, you’re a riot Blair! No one's talked that way to princess ever since she got here” Olivia said laughing her ass off.
“I bet. And princess?”
“Yep, princess because she always seems to be the star of the show”
“Of fucking course, she would be. How typical. Isn’t that right? Ava. Kate. Thompson.”
Ava remained silently like her life depended on it and was sweating nervously at the implication of her full government name being said aloud. Olivia on the hand sat amused wondering what was going on between the two and wanted to be filled in.
“So? You guys have history or what.”
“Oh? You don’t know? Well, I guess that’s typical of her not to mention me as she probably finds me an embarrassment. I bet just sitting here is enough to disgrace the ‘princess’”.
Now Ava REALLY wanted to die. She couldn’t believe this was Blair. She knew what she did was wrong, but seeing her work in the flesh was awful. She felt like she could throw up any minute if this conversation about the past continued. Olivia found this situation very amusing and decided to ask:
“Hey, can I get your number if there was someone immune to Ava's charms than she’s got to be one hell of a girl. So? How about it.”
“Whatever. Here” said Blair handing her phone over to Olivia indifferently.
Blair found it increasingly hard to talk to people in general but found for some reason she clicked with Olivia in some way. Not entirely averse to this altercation, Blaire remained indifferent at her seat. Olivia was ecstatic and having a blast.
“Hey, you should’ve told me you had such an amazing friend. Her style is cool to didn’t expect that from you princess”
“Yeah……. friends……well at least she’s happy. I don’t want to open old wounds and make it awkward.
“Old wounds you say? Hey Blair, what’s she talking about when she says old wounds?”
Ava was mortified that she had just said that and in both of there presences to boot. She dreaded the last minutes of class and just wanted to leave as fast as possible. Blair whipped her head around with lightning speed and glared holes into Ava.
“Oh? Not good then. Alright I won’t bring it up if you haven’t resolved it. Sorry Blaire we’re still good?”
“Yeah, we’re fine. Can’t say the same for ‘princess’ though."
“Can you please stop calling me that Blair? It’s embarrassing.”
“Oh? It’s embarrassing, is it? Well, I guess that’s a running theme with you and will look at that class is over thank fucking god”
Blair stands up to leave class in rush hurt by Ava’s words once again and is gone in a flurry.
“Wait Blair! Fuck. I didn’t mean. Why am I always saying the wrong shit all the time. Sorry Olivia I got to go after her."
So, Ava chased after Blair and they both left class in a hurry. Olivia smiled just like she’d found her new favorite thing.
“Hmmm…Blair is more interesting than I thought.”
Ava chased Blair out into the hall and finally caught up with her then pulling on her arm to reveal she was crying
“What do you want Ava?” Blair said through the streams of tears falling down her face.
“I just wanted to talk to you. Because we really need to talk."
“Do we though Ava? I have nothing I want to say to a backstabber and lair.”
“I didn’t. I never meant for any of that to happen Blair. You know I care a lot about you. I never wanted you to be in pain because of me.”
“You’re the one who just left me there! YOU'RE the one who abandoned ME! You care about me!?!? Stop spouting bullshit! All I wanted was for you to stand up for me! To save me! “
“Blair let’s not do this here….”
“Yeah, I get it. You’ve always only cared about your status and how people perceive you. You’re a real stuck a bitch you know that?”
“Blair…..”
“All I ever cared about was being with you. You betrayed me. Made me look like a fool and an idiot in front everyone. You even still hung out with them and never shot a glance my way. Don’t expect me to come crawling back to you.”
“I get it. I get it ok? I fucked up. I really did, but can’t you give me second chance? A redo, let me make it up to you. We’ll go as slow or as fast as you want. All I want right now is to give you my number and I’ll leave for today, ok? I promise that wont ever happen EVER again. All that matters is you’re here now and in front of me.”
“Why do you always do this. I’m not the bad guy. Oh whatever, I’m so fucking tired today just give me the number and go away.”
Blair took the number and before she was about to leave Ava hugged her. Blair couldn’t process what was going on but didn’t have the strength to pull away after all the crying. They both went their separate ways for the day and had a lot to think about. Blair really didn’t want to let Ava back into her life, but after seeing her really try and put in the effort the strength in her resilience faded.
Ava was just happy she was back in Blairs life. It was like there was a sliver ray of hope in a pitch-black void that was their relationship. She wouldn’t push nor pull. She was doing this the right way this time and wasn’t backing down for anyone.
Back in the hallway there was still another person who saw this entire event unfold, Olivia Byrat.
“Hmmmmm…. Now this really does seems interesting. It seems like getting close to Blair was the right call. Who would’ve known that THE princess has something to be used against her. This must be my lucky day.” said Olivia whistling and swinging her keys as she walks down the hall with glee.
Blair throwing herself onto her bead in her dorm was beyond exhausted at all the stimuli that she encountered today. She couldn’t believe out of all the people she ran into it had to be Ava and the worst fucking part of it is she accepted her again. She didn’t think she had gone crazy, but maybe just maybe she still held on to those feelings of old she thought she had discarded. On another hand there was a new face she encountered, Olivia, she was bold and striking with a mischievous personality. Blair didn’t really mind her though and thought she was very easy to talk to. She wondered what their relationship was but was too tired to keep thinking for even another minute. That was until she heard her phone make a noise and went to check it and was surprised at what she saw.
“Oh. This isn’t good” said Blair with an ominous tone
The text was from Olivia, and it read like this: “Hey little lady want to go out this weekend?”
“Little lady…….”
Blair irritated by the sudden attack at her short stature replied: “Fuck you and Whatever, sure I guess.” Blair needed a reprieve from all the “fun” she had today and decided getting out for a bit wouldn’t hurt. Olivia had gotten had gotten her mind off Ava and Blair was actually a little excited for the upcoming weekend.
“Hahaha. I wonder where we should go. Oh, first I have to tell Ava though that I’ll be “busy” this weekend” Oliviq said as she grinned from ear to ear while she started to pick an outfit out for the weekend.
