“Hello sunshine, just thought I’d check up on you and to my surprise I see a familiar face over there.”
“Yeah, me and Ava talked yesterday. We made up and decided to hang out as some sort of reconciliation party”
“Well, that’s good. I’m a little hurt that you didn’t invite me though.” Oliva said like a downtrodden puppy.
“Sorry Liv it was kind of last minute. How about to make up for it we go get some coffee?”
“That sounds like a wonderful idea. Get your ass up princes. We’re getting some coffee”
“Olivia?” Ava said confused while she tried to rub the sleep from her eyes.
“Yes, dumbass its me. Now get ready and let’s go.”
“Alright, alright I will.”
Olivia was feeling a little annoyed at the start of her morning. She thought she could have a nice morning with Blair. She even got up early to get over to her place in time. Who’d have thought the princess would be right in that very room. She didn’t think Ava had the balls to go after anything herself, but color her surprised. I guess it didn’t matter if they were friends again since she was technically Avas friend to. It didn’t matter in the end because she would get what she wanted. Once Olivia was dead set on something she was always confident she’d what she was going after.
The car ride over to the coffee shop was amicable as they talked about school, extracurricular activities, or their social lives. Blair couldn’t have been any happier. She had never thought her life would go back to being like this. As she thought on her journey up to this point they had arrived at their destination. They all got out and ordered some coffee to go so they wouldn’t be late for class. Blair had class, socialized, and overall was feeling like she was almost back to her old self. She had grown cold and tired. She had grown and things did change for better or for worse, but the world did not look so dreary anymore.
One day as she was walking to class, she crossed paths with the cheer team. Sensing some awful Déjà vu Blair turned around and tried walking as fast as she could in the opposite direction of them. Nothing ever turned out like she wanted, and they called out to her.
“Stop right their short ass. We need to talk. “
“I’m good. I don’t want to hang around pretentious assholes. See ya.”
“Not so fast bitch”
The cheer team surrounded Blair like some sort of gang. Blair was anxious. This was to similar to the incident that happened to her all those years ago. She was trembling and shaking trying not to recall the event.
“Hey, no need to get so worked up. We aren’t going to do anything to you. We just came to say stay away from Ava and Olivia. You might’ve buttered up to them, but you don’t belong by there side. Look at you. I mean your so vastly different than them it’s disgusting. You’re a loser and you always will be, so stay in your lane. I’m only saying this once and the next time I won’t be asking nicely.”
As they left, Blair walked mindlessly back to her room and collapsed on her floor.
“Again? This is happening again... Why? What did I ever do to anybody? Can I not just live and be happy with the people I care about?”
She was crying and asked herself again and again why. Life seemed so cruel. Why did it matter so much to other people what she did or who she hung out with. She could never wrap her head around it. She wanted this so bad to be a dream and that’d she just wakes up to her normal life. She cried for what seemed to be an eternity until she heard a knock on her door. Olivia was there like her saving grace. She looked like shit, and it looked like Olivia saw that she looked like shit.
“Wtf? What’s wrong sunshine. It looks like you’ve gone to hell and back.”
Blair couldn’t contain her tears and hugged Olivia as hard she could. Olivia was confused by this but obliged Blair.
“Let’s take this inside and talk about what’s wrong, ok?”
Blair recounted the story of the anxiety inducing event that had just taken place earlier that day. She told her that she couldn’t do this again and did not want to willingly go back to how things used to be. Olivia listened carefully to everything Blair said until she had gotten everything off her chest.
“Alright, I get it now. How about we just go over there tomorrow? Since we just so happen to have practice it’s about high time, they remember who they’re fucking with. I don’t let people fuck with what’s mine.”
Blair might’ve lost hope momentarily, but she now had people she can count on who cared about her. This wasn’t the same situation at all, and she wasn’t about to just throw everything away because people saw her unfit to stand by there sides. They had no right to say that, and Blair was tougher than how she was before. She shook her head up and down to what Olivia said and agreed to face things tomorrow.
The fateful day came, and Olivia was marching toward the cheer team with Blair in tow. Olivia was like a freight train at max speed and very angry. It seemed like she would blow her top any minute and when they finally got there the bomb blew up. As soon as they both got there and the bully who said those awful things to Blair saw her in flesh, she immediately opened her mouth.
“Hey dumbass, didn’t I tell you to sto-“ and before she even could finish her sentence Olivia had walked in front of Blair and the girl. Olivia was staring down at her and was royally ticked off.
“We may be teammates but if you keep acting that way towards Blair, we are going to have some serious fucking issues.”
Olivia was emanating a heavy pressure while saying those words and not one person spoke against her. The bully started to say something again after a few seconds, but Olivia reiterated her point.
“I’m not fucking around. She’s off limits and if I hear that anyone in here has been messing with her there’s going to be hell to pay. I came here to tell everyone after her about yesterday’s shit show.”
Now everyone’s faces looked like they just saw shit hit the fan. They thought Blair had been trying to cozy up to Ava and Olivia, but it looks like they couldn’t have been more wrong.
“And don’t even think for a second that the princess is going to help you. Blair is her childhood friend, so I suggest you stop with any of the idiotic ideas in your heads.” Olivia said driving the final nail into the coffin that Blair shouldn’t be messed with.
With those final words said they scattered like cockroaches at Olivia’s glare. Blair couldn’t even believe what just happened. Olivia stood up for her. She didn’t let public opinion sway her and she didn’t back down from what she wanted to say. And at that moment something truly bloomed within her. She was in love with Olivia.
