Blair honestly had a lot to think about and she wasn’t talking about school. With the sudden trip to the amusement park, she had put aside her newfound feelings for Olivia, but now she seriously needed to consider how she would move forward in the future. She liked Olivia a lot that was for sure and being in a relationship with her would be great as well…..but the incident with the cheerleaders and her sudden budding friendship with Ava, she found her self more unsure with how to proceed regarding her feelings. She didn’t really want to talk about this with Ava. Blair was unsure how’d she take the news of her coming out AND being in love with her friend. That seemed like a discussion she absolutely wanted to hold off on for as long as possible.
College life continued as usual until a sudden group project was announced due at the end of next week. Naturally the trio got together too due said project, but Blair was surprised Olivia took an active interest in schoolwork. They all decided it would probably be for the best to meet up at Blair’s house that weekend to do the project in one fell swoop. Blair was on red alert and already feeling high strung that Olivia and Ava were going to be at her house, looking at her things, and meeting her family. Its not like meeting her family would be a bad thing its just that Ava would be there, and she knew her sister would be as well.
After the bullying incident that led to Blairs social downfall and her introverted nature, Blairs older sister grew a natural hatred for Ava. Blair and her sister were as close as any siblings could get. Her sister loved her very much and tried her very best for Blair so when she got closed off and wouldn’t talk to anyone, her sister took it the hardest. Her sister wasn’t necessarily mad at Blair but mad that she was hurting inside so much and felt like she unable to talk about it. Her hatred for Ava grew deep and even the mention of her name made her lose her shit. Needless to say, Blair was very worried about this group project.
Just like that the weekend was here in a flash and Blairs stomach was in knots. Before anything happened, she needed to talk with her sister before everyone got there. She was at her house and approached her sister nervously wondering how this day would go.
“Hey Alexa…...I’ve got something to talk to you about”
“Unusual for you to talk at all these days, but what’s up?” Alexa looked at Blair suspiciously.
“So……I have this project due right?”
“Ok”
“And I’m in this group, ok?”
“Ok….”
“This group is made of my friends, and you have to promise me not to be angry or act out when they’re here.” Blair said nervous but steadfast in her resolution.
“Huh? Why would I act out…I’m older than you you know? I’ll just be hospitable, and you even let them come here so I promise to be on my best behavior.” Alex said proudly.
“Ok, but there’s this girl in my group and she’s, my friend. You have to PROMISE me you’ll be ok.” Blair said continuously staring at Alexa and not breaking eye contact.
“I don’t get it. Why would I care? It’s not like its ‘she who won’t be named’ or anything.” Alexa said laughing off the intense air.
Alexa looked at Blair and Blair was looking at Alexa. They both stared at each other, and Alexas’s expression grew dark.
“You’ve got to be fu-“
Her sentence was cut off by the ringing of their doorbell. At which point they both swiveled their heads at the door in classic synchronized fashion. Alexas’s head turned to look back at Blair and she was furious. Alexa didn’t know how these turn of events came to be or even how that bitch walked her way back into her precious sisters heart. Right now, though she needed to calm her mind and not ruin things for Blair - as much as she hated “her” - Blair actually invited people over and seemed happy so she stilled her anger.
Blair headed over to the door and opened it for the pair standing outside and was greeted by hug from Olivia.
“Hey sunshine! We missed you, glad we can be doing this project together”
“Hello Blair…” Ava said very quietly
Blair whispered into Avas ear that she already explained everything to Alexa, and she was going to be on her best behavior. Ava still anxious stepped in with Olivia and greeted Alexa.
“Hey! Its nice to see my sister bring some friends here, it’s been awhile after all.” Alexa said shooting a terrifying ice glare toward Ava.
Ava thought Blair had said that Alexa wouldn’t do anything, but she hadn’t even been for more than a minute and she was already being glared at…...
“Ava” Alexa said smiling trying to rain in her anger and aggression.
“Don’t do anything Alexa” said Blair in a preventative manner before things got out of hand. “We’re going to my room now to work on our project.” Blair said in a passing tone.
They passed an agitated Alexa and headed for Blair’s room. Both Olivia and Ava were rather excited, but for entirely different reasons.
“Man, you must be super hated here huh Ava?” Olivia said clearly getting a kick out of the situation.
“I already said I’m sorry and if I have to do it in front of her family to then that’s fine by me. It’s my fault after all she has a right to be mad.” Ava said with a serious expression
“Alright, alright I get it. Let’s just do this project. Sound good?”
“Sound good to me!” said Blair glad that the heavy atmosphere is finally being lifted.
Finally, back on track to do their project, Olivia and Ava turned it into a competition on who could help Blair the best. Blair was baffled at how idiotic these two became when interacting with each other. She was still glad though that everything had turned out fine in the end and was happy that the people she cared about were there with her.
While working on the project Blairs eyes drifted unconsciously to Olivia as she was working. Unfortunately for Blair, Olivia had noticed the gaze and looked at her and winked. Blair was snapped back to reality and immediately hid her head in embarrassment. She cursed her own body and Olivia chuckled at her. Ava unaware of it all was dutifully working as hard as she could to beat Olivia with everything she has.
They continued working for the remainder of the day stopping every so often to take a break and clear their heads. Blair was ready to finish this project and was looking forward to Christmas which was right around the corner. Even though she was back right now it wasn’t permanent, so she was excited to spend time with her family since her spirit had been rejuvenated.
Everyone left for the day after they finished the project. The day started off a little bumpy, but everything seemed to work out in the end. She still had to talk with Alexa about Ava. Ava was her friend now and they talked everything out. She didn’t expect Alexa to forgive and forget but hoped she would work through her own emotions in a healthy way so they all could be happy again. Blair wasn’t sure what the future would bring but she was ready to move forward and not look back anymore.
