Before the man could say anything his body started to move on its own and followed Alexander’s command to stand despite objections. His confidence turned to confusion and then to dread as he looked down on this boy that he towered over. Alexander held out an arm and his hand became encapsulated in a red orb that spun open like a blooming lily with five red petals.
Red droplets came from the flowers and formed a triangular dart that hovered in his palm. The man wanted to run but his body would not allow him to move, he could only stare at the dark that was pointed at his head.
“How are you doing all this, I bit you, so how are you using a unus archer?!” the man exclaimed, “Little shit, you were never human were you?!”
Alexander laughed while watching the man struggle to move while he kept his projectile aimed on target. When he went to fire he felt a momentary lapse that caused him to miss his mark and only graze the man’s face. The man felt the control over his body become weakened and he took the opportunity to constrict Alexander in his tendrils and suspend him outside the window. Though he didn’t know how, he wouldn’t be careless, the slightest twitch and this kid was history was what he thought.
Soon enough Alexander came back to his senses and wondered when was he placed outside. All he could remember was being bitten and then nothing, and why did his attacker have such a look of fear on his face. Wasn’t he supposed to be the one afraid?
“Bring him back inside slowly and you won’t get hurt.” Felix said and pointed a halberd made of blood at the man’s back.
“It’s all clear Felix.” Michael said while entering the room.
“You were told to scram kiddos, should have left when you had the chance.” the man said and tried to strike Felix with a tendril he released from binding Alexander.
The tendril was stopped by Michael by having them pierce his left hand and he grabbed onto it before it could strike a startled Felix. Alexander tried to struggle free after watching Michael being injured, were they really going to put themselves at such risks over him?
Felix summoned a second halberd into his other hand and sliced the tendril giving Michael a chance to push the man. Providing Felix an opening to slash the man’s back with his halberd’s blades. The man groaned but the attack didn’t bother him and he countered slashing Felix’s chest and sending him backwards into Michael’s chest. Michael himself used his body to cushion Felix’s impact.
“You can’t fight him alone; you know what has to be done.” Michael said to Felix.
“I have to try; I refuse to force that faith onto you.” Felix said and used one halberd to wrap up the approaching tendril so it couldn’t strike Michael, “I don’t care what our family trained us to do.”
“We have no choice, do it or else we all die.” Michael said, “I need the power not only to protect you but him as well.”
“You two are so annoying.” the man said and tried to lunge at them.
Alexander held out a hand and his flower bloomed once more and fired a dart that threw the man off balance and caused him to stop half way. Michael and Felix were dumbfounded at what they just witnessed, Alexander just fired blood, was he bitten while they were out but if so why did he use a projectile. Felix didn’t waste any more of the brief moment that Alexander was trying by them by constantly firing whenever the man tried to move. The man himself didn’t try to do anything to Alexander in fear of what happened before to happen again.
“Are you really certain?” Felix asked Michael and was given a nod, “Then you Michael, I take as my kin.”
“My loyalty, I accept this vow.” Michael said and leaned in close to Felix.
Felix unveiled his fangs and gently sunk them into Michael’s neck and began to inject his venom. Alexander’s attacks eventually stopped and the man went to punch Felix but was stopped again by Michael single handedly. Michael’s eyes flashed crimson and he pushed the man away. Michael petted Felix’s head, causing the latter to ease away, and he stood up and faced the man while cracking his knuckles.
