The Quarkle Chronicles № 3
continued from The Quarkle Chronicles № 2
“Ready?” bursting with excitement, Lizo spoke with confidence to his newly assembled team.
“Ready!” Three voices spoke in unison as sparks of energy spewed joyfully out of their beings with forceful color.
The team of four Quarkkids leaped into the newly created portal and arrived instantaneously at the counterpart portal on Earth. Naylin’s portal. The metamorphosis from brilliant, energetic light to animated mystical creatures was shocking, to say the least.
The Quarkkids had transformed into minuscule pegasus horses, flying freely, unhindered, with magnificent white wings, nearly invisible to the human eye. Perfect.
Their eyes were drawn to a horrifying scene taking place in a serene cave. Rocks were tumbling, and then the tortured scream of a tiny pegasus horse as he was crushed underneath the jagged and heavy stones. A man and a woman were watching, horrified, as the tiny creature took his last breath. The man tried to comfort the woman and reassure her that the little horse might yet be saved. Note: The whole story of this encounter is contained in ‘Naylin, Dragons of Light — Part 35.
As the man held the woman with comforting arms, Lizo quickly gathered his team and whispered specific instructions to each one in turn. Their mission was clear. They were to surround the woman, flying around and around her while throwing out their sparks of hope and encouragement. The words weren’t important at this point because their energy alone was enough to buoy any human spirit to heights of ecstasy. Their spark was powerful enough to dispel dark grief-filled emotions and replace them with hope.
The woman looked up from her grief, noticing a buzzing like the wings of insects. She looked around and thought she saw…no, that was impossible. Was that a swarm of flying horses just on the edge of her peripheral vision?
Then the buzzing grew closer, and she thought she heard soft words, hopeful words. But that was also impossible! She must be having delusions.
She didn’t know how or why or what, but the woman suddenly felt better than she had the moment before. She knew that everything was going to be all right.
“Mission accomplished!” Lizo led his team back through the portal, transforming back into their glorious bodies instantaneously and with great relief. After all, animated bodies are difficult to maintain for long periods of time, especially for a Quarkle.
The Quarkle Chronicles are almost all stand alone stories extracted from historical events told for your enjoyment and convenience. Each is intended to bring a spark of encouragement to your life and heart.
