The scribes were amazed at that last Chronicle. The birth of a star! Lizo, still a Quarkkid but growing up fast and destined for greatness.
A lone scribe came forward with twirling words and presented the next Chronicle:
The Quarkle Chronicles № 5
Building a world was a difficult but pleasurable activity. It took a lot of planning, foresight, aftersight, any sight, as a matter of fact. If you didn’t have sight, you couldn’t build a world from scratch. But Boss had sight.
Boss is Boss. There’s no other fitting description for him. He just is, he exists, he thinks, he dreams, he creates, he feels, he touches, all of the above and more.
One day in the far far far far far far far far past, Boss decided to plan and build a new world. He wasn’t bored, not in the least. He never got bored, no way, there was just too much to think and dream about and DO. He just had that kind of a day where thoughts were like bouncing rubber balls, ideas were like melted frosting on a delicious fragrant cinnamon roll.
PLANNING — PHASE 1
Planning always came first so Boss took a timeout of exactly 1.2235 seconds and planned his new world. This was actually quite a bit longer than a normal planning session, but he felt that it was important to take the extra time.
He decided to call his new world Quarkopolis, not only because it was a fun and catchy sort of name, but also because of what he had planned for phase 3.
BUILDING — PHASE 2
He immediately proceeded to construct the realm, making it both beautiful and mysterious. The end result was truly glorious to behold. The trouble with beholding it was that it was way too small for normal eyes. In fact, it was so tiny that it could fit on the head of a pin. But if one could behold it, one would definitely be in awe of its magnificence.
Boss took a little longer with the building phase, 3.768 seconds to be exact.
CREATING— PHASE 3
It was time to populate the realm with Quarkles.
Boss was ecstatic. He’d gotten through the first two phases and was completely satisfied with his progress, even though it didn’t beat any speed records and he considered it a bit slow compared to his previous creations. But he figured that this one was too important to rush. Quarkopolis was now planned and built. He just had to populate it with living intelligent beings, just like he had populated an infinite number of worlds in his never-ending existence.
But this time was different. Quarkopolis was special. Boss knew this and that is exactly why he was taking his time with this, his 3 billionth creation. His most important creation so far. The others were important, of course, but this one? This one was key to everything. Everything!
Boss brought forth millions, billions, even trillions of Quarkles, born of the sun, living beings of light and energy, all unique, all miniscule, all invisible. In fact, they were even smaller than the realm that Boss had created since they had to live in it. Remember the realm fit onto the head of a pin? Well, the quadrillions of Quarkles fit into the realm. Imagine that!
Explosions of light, vastly colorful and magnificent, like the bursting of thousands of soap bubbles filled the universe and caught the attention of all the worlds already out there.
The galaxy stood at attention at the creation of the Quarkles.
