I’m alone. With two Alphas. In heat.

No amount of lessons or videos could prepare me for the explosion of hot boiling lust that radiated from my entire being. It was like fighting a stronger part of myself, a battle that I was bound to lose.

“Shit! Shit shit shit!” Phil swore, jumping up with his arm covering his nose, as if that would stop my pheromones from calling to him.

Brynn only sat there, staring at me. It was as if the sky, night and day, had burst behind her eyes, brightening them until they practically glowed. A wave of her essence came crashing down on my shore and I was ready for the current to sweep me away.

I was willing.

“Alpha,” I whispered, eyes locked with hers as the seas and stars wound us around, tightening its grip until we bowed to the fates decree.

“Brynn,” Phil warned. “Step away from him.”

Brynn growled low, her chest vibrating, as if the Alpha instincts were waking up and noticed another in their den. Protective. Passionate.

But then she closed her eyes, tilted her head back, rolling her head around her shoulders. I watched the deep inhale and slow exhale.

“I am in control. Go get help, I’ll stay with him.”

In control? She was in control?

No, that storm in her eyes spoke of anything but.

Yet, the moment she opened them again, they were calm. The glow hadn’t dimmed, but instead of crashing waves, it was still waters, rustling only with the gentle breeze.

And something about it made me want to cry.

Still not enough.

I whined, keening high and piteous. Phil’s jaw clenched, the instinct to soothe and comfort eating away at him.

“Phil, go,” Brynn commanded, the tone sharp, biting across the space.

“But–”

“I’ll protect him if any Alphas come, now go! Hurry before he reaches the peak. Get his parents or any nearby adult Omega.”

Then Phil was gone, leaving behind a faint sound of rustling leaves.

We were alone now.

Me and the source of it all.

“Alpha,” I whined again, begging, rocking back and forth as my fingers dug into the skin of my arms.

“I’m sorry, Caleb. I think if I release any pheromones, it might make it worse.”

Anger bubbled through the haze of lust, “It’s your fault!” I growled.

Brynn’s eyes widened slightly.

Then my body betrayed me, rolling on my back, presenting my stomach to her. Submitting to her. A foreign wetness seeped through my briefs, leaving me wet and sticky.

Brynn’s nostrils flared, the glow in her eyes sparking before her head jerked up and to the distance. Her eyes scanned the trees, on full alert. I couldn’t hear anything more than the blood in my veins, see anything but her.

I wanted her. I wanted her so badly, I’d give my life to feel her touch. I wanted her litter. I wanted her to make me feel full. I wanted her to claim me.

“Please,” I whined, my body an enemy I couldn’t fight, leaning toward her, needing her scent to wrap around me.

“Sh,” she hushed, but it was too late. The leaves rustled as the brush parted and four Alphas made their way into our little clearing. I didn’t recognize them, but Brynn seemed to. Her hackles rose as she bared her teeth.

It didn’t matter, because none of them paid her any mind. Their eyes were glued on me. On my presentation as I sank onto all fours, leaning deep into my arch, shoving my hips up. But I didn’t want them. Their scents were sour, muted…weak. It was nothing like hers, couldn’t even compare.

“Need,” I mewled, begging her.

She swore, standing tall and stepping in front of me.

“Back away,” Brynn warned.

The Alphas only snarled in return, edging forward as the reason gave way to instinct. It didn’t take long for a battle to ensue as the Alphas went at it in a full on brawl.

Something about it made me hotter, made me want even more. I wanted them to fight, I wanted them to draw blood, and I wanted her to win. To show them that they could not compare. That my Alpha was the strongest and the pups I’ll bear will inherit that strength.

There was blood everywhere. Growls and whimpers flooded my ears, but I could only close my eyes, tuning it out until it became a dull thrum in the background. The heat had taken over, leaving me near boneless.

“Alpha,” I whispered, one last time. One last plea.

“I’m here,” Brynn whispered, her body covering my own. I barely registered the blood, the torn clothes, or the mutilated bodies of the four Alphas. Nothing could distract me from the warmth and weight of her on me, her scent filling my nostrils, the hard length of her pressing against me behind the fabric of our jeans.

“Knot me, need it,” I begged, rolling my hips, pushing back against her.

Her breath was on my neck, forehead resting gently on the back of my head. I could feel the soft inhale as she took in my scent, releasing her own in return.

“I’ll keep you safe. I’ll protect you. I won’t let anyone get to you,” she swore, ignoring my request. Over and over again she promised me until the minutes faded away.

It felt good. So good to hear them, to believe them.

Felt good to have an Alpha…
