The Legend that nobody knows

Nap

Nap

Dec 18, 2022

People in Rim City also learned about sleeping child in just a few days. This city was on the outskirts of Sheen nation.

Lord Falco's child was the subject of many rumors around the city. Some thought it was a cursed child, while others thought it was the end of the Bladeluiff family.

Bladeluiff family nobility rank used to be third only to the King family, but as each generation passed, their family power dwindled, affecting their nobility rank as well. They've reached the end of the aristocracy ladder, which was Baron.

(Author's note: In this novel, the nobility ranks are King/Queen, Prince/Princess, Duke/Duchess, Marquess/Marchioness, Earl/Countess, Viscount/Viscounte, and Baron/Baroness.)

The baron's responsibility was to strive for the prosperity of the king's lands, thus all citizens of the rim city address Falco as Lord. The Bladeluiff family was given this Rim city by the king to look over.

Falco and his wife invited numerous doctors, but the outcome was the same. Some well-known maniac doctors even made offered for their child for medical research.

Falco was angered by this maniac doctor’s word, however knowing well that these crazy doctors were only attempting to irritate him, he calm down. Only direct descendants of the family could hold the nobility rank of the family, if the Bladeluiff family had no direct descendants, Falco will be the last baron.  So, many people were looking for the next vacant noble seat in the Rim city.

At the end of eastern side of the Rim city there was big palace, with a design that was similar to modernist architecture. It had the appearance of three rectangle blocks joined at the top by a cylindrical shape. Bladeluiff family named this palace, Crystal Palace since it had a lot of crystal around it.

Within one of the rooms, a chubby child with closed eyes was resting in the cradle, a long tube was inserted in his mouth to help him for feeding, and a woman was pushing the cradle from the side with her hand. She had no idea if her child could even feel the cradle movement.

"Mother, take some rest. You haven't rested since yesterday." Roza expressed her worried. She looked at her mother every few minutes; she had never seen her mother with such a sad expression on her face.

In the passing day many doctors came and leave, however result was same. Some doctors were also spies send to look into the Bladeluiff family.

Elora visited her child's room every day, but Falco only went a few times because he had a duty as the Lord of Rim City.

Bladeluiff family time passed with soreness. Day followed by month, and then by year.

"Roza, you've really grown." While combing her daughter's hair, Elora commented.

Roza will turn fourteen this month; she now had a long hair and stands 160.5 cm tall.

"Mother, please look after yourself as well. Don't be too concerned about Nap." She had always thought that if she got sick like her younger brother, would her mother will be as sad as she is now.

Elora said with smile "You have a knack of giving your younger brother a nickname."

Because no one had named her sleeping brother until now, Roza named him Nap. Naming a person was important, especially for noble families.

Elora locked her gaze on her daughter. Roza had awakened the fire element, which was one of the periodic elements, during the age ceremony. The elements were categories into three part, they were Periodic, Rare and Subclass elements. Fire, earth, water, wind, and metal were in the periodic elements. Lighting, darkness, summoner, and other unheard element were in rare elements. Subclass elements were known as weak elements because this type of element was primarily used for routine tasks such as chores and other similar tasks.

"Mother, I would want to......." Roza stopped her word mid-way. She reasoned that she shouldn't ask because many individuals in the Bladeluiff family were unhappy with her presence.

As she finished combing Roza hair, Elora said. "Don't be shy; you're also my daughter. We'll do everything we can to aid you."

"Mother, I'd like to enroll in Imperial Academy."

As she heard her daughter's wish, Elora smiled. Even if the world had ruled, the fact remained the same; the strong always feed over the weak. Many aspired to get stronger so that no one could stand in their way.

The minimum requirements for acceptance to the Imperial Academy were awakening with a Periodic class element and receiving a recommendation from a noble family; Roza now simply needs a recommendation.

“Let me talk to your father.” Elora replied and exited from the room. She cannot fulfill her daughter's goal to attend Imperial Academy on her own. A recommendation letter from a noble family was required; however, each noble family had a limited number of recommendation letters. The letter of recommendation represents a place in Imperial Academy. Each year, the Bladeluiff family received only one seat.

Next day, many folks were present in the crystal palace's meeting hall. They were all looking forward to seeing Lord Falco. They meet once a month to discuss about the situation and potential solutions of Rim City.

"How can Lord Falco offer that girl a seat in Imperial Academy?"

“That girl isn’t even the real descended of the Bladeluiff family, who know which bitch gave her birth?”

A middle age man with pump muscular body laughed and said "Fourteen years ago, I was against Lord Falco adopting that girl, but all of you shouted at me for not being an upright person."

Others' faces turned red, fourteen years ago, due to the beast calamities, several households in rim city perished. Roza was a newborn baby at the time, her family had perished in the disaster, and she had no relatives in Rim City who could look after her, so Lord Falco adopted her. He had also discussed it with his subordinates, but everyone had agreed on it except Feron.

The hall fell into silent as soon as Lord Falco entered.

"Lord Falco, greetings." Everyone in the room rose to their feet and bent their heads.

After only Falco sat at his sit, other also followed him.

"Lord Falco, we collected thousands of mana stone in taxes this month." Minister of Finance Kell said. He placed a huge draft in front of Falco that had all of the information regarding Rim city's finances of the previous months.

Aldwulf, the minister of trade and production, and Feron, the minister of education, both gave their monthly reports.

Feron said with a sneaky grin "Lord Falco, the Rim battle competition is coming up shortly. It's terribly unfortunate that we can only choose four brilliant youngsters for Imperial Academy this time."

Falco smirked quietly to himself, knowing that his subordinates were indirectly protesting his decision. Every five years, the Rim Battle competition was held, and he had always given five recommendation letters to the best five youngsters in Rim City.

Falco stated calmly. "This is fantastic. Because we have one less slot this year, the youth of Rim City will give it their best."

The present people never imagined Lord Falco would interact to their objections with a single sentence. They don't have a choice; they can't objection directly.

The spot for Imperial Academy was for the Bladeluiff family, However, there was no one in the Bladeluiff family who could use it, so Falco held a Rim battle competition every five years to motivate youngsters of the Rim City. Every youngster from Rim City wished to attend Imperial Academy. If these youngsters could demonstrate superior talent in Imperial Academy, they might be eligible for nobility title.

After the meeting ended, a few hours later, Falco's subordinates likewise left the main hall. Anyone could tell they were dissatisfied by their expression.

The Bladeluiff  family celebrated their daughter's fourteenth birthday towards the end of the month. Both Falco and Elora were aware that once their daughter enrolled in Imperial Academy, meeting her will be extremely difficult until she graduated.

A big carriage was waiting outside the crystal palace the next day. On the left side of the carriage, a cross of one sliver and one golden sword symbol was present, this symbol represents the Bladeluiff family.

"Isn't that Lord Falco, Steeler horse?"  Bladeluiff household servant whispered. They quickly recognized it as a warzone horse, which was typically utilized in war. These types of horses were more agile and powerful than regular horses.

Outside the crystal palace, the Bladeluiff family member also arrived.

"Father, I don't..." Roza said, puzzled, as she observed two warzone horses.

Before she could finish her word, Falco cut off her word and said “After reaching Imperial academy, you can separate these two horses from the carriage and use it. This is not much, after you reached the mainland, you will understand.”

Elora hugged Roza and placed a tiny pouch in her palm. "Keep this; it will help you to cover your expenses.  You can let us know if you need anything."

Bladeluiff family farewell Roza.

Inside one of the room in crystal palace, a boy was laying in the bed with long black hair. His face was pale, and his frame resembled that of a malnourished child.

This is the world where monsters, humans, and other races compete for dominance.

A child who wasn't destined to live in this world from birth tried to fit in. He can only describe himself in only two sentences.

"Never hated me; you can't afford to infuriate me."

"Never love me because if you do, you won't be able to move on."
