Hola! I’m back again it’s the next day and because the holidays are coming up some of the people that Sally knows but don't have family to celebrate with at this time of year are coming over for a little holiday party. In this world there are lots of different celebrations around this time of year, we have the holidays from religions that are still alive in the normal world, like Christmas and Hanukkah, and ones from religions that only survive in the land of writers and stories, like Saturnalia and the re-birth of Ra. I personally have only ever celebrated Christmas but I'm excited to celebrate more. While Sally cooked a whole bunch of traditional holiday foods so everyone there would feel at home, us kids did the decorating. Ebony used her arrows to get fairy lights into high places, like the weathervane on top of the house, Alexis used their set design knowledge to make sure all the colours and stuff were cohesive and didn’t clash, and I helped by using pinterest lol. In the end the house looked pretty good and we were all pretty happy with it. The people arrived slowly but in groups and in total there were maybe fifteen people in groups of like three to five. Sally knew them from all over, some helped her when she was a child, some are her friends and some are just people she knows. One of the most interesting things that happened today was my first experience with magic. I knew magic existed here, like there are characters from millions of stories, made to exist when their creators are transported here, there has to be magic, but today was my first time meeting anyone with magic because writers don’t possess any and that’s all I’d met, but today I met Alodos, one of Sally’s characters, who is a wizard! Alodos was the first to arrive and he came on a CLOUD! Me, Alexis and Ebony were nearly finished decorating and were trying to decide what the finishing touch would be when Alodos showed up and said it looked good. The others went and hugged him, calling him ‘uncle Alodos’ he hugged them back then asked who I was. Alexis introduced me as “Mars, our newest sibling” which made me smile, then said “Mars, this is Alodos, he is one of Sally’s characters, but he’s basically our uncle”. We exchanged hellos and then went inside to find Sally. When everyone else had arrived and we were sitting around the table eating, Alodos was demonstrating some magic, according to Ebony “he comes every year and always does the same old tricks but we love them every time”. The tricks were really cool though so that was good. Speaking of good, the food was AMAZING. Sally is such a good cook, I had the lasagna, the roast pork, the duck fat potatoes (yumm) and the beautiful salads. Then for dessert I had cheesecake, mousse, and Christmas cake. I don’t understand how Sally can make all this delicious food then not eat a whole bunch of it because she’s vegetarian, like I couldn’t even go into the kitchen because it smelt so good. Anyway I’ve got to go because we’re about to open some presents!
