[Belle]
I don't know how long we stood there, but I know it was long enough for my feet to start hurting and I needed a breather. The dress was suffocating, and it felt like I was about to burst through the seams. Looking around I spot a door that was close. A demon with servant attire leaves out of the ballroom, and what I can assume is a hall.
But I couldn't just leave, there was to many demons around that would notice me. I turn towards the girl that stood next to me, Ingrid, I believe her name is. I tap her lightly on the shoulder, she turns her head slightly towards me, her dark brown eyes bore into mine with question.
"I need your help." I whisper.
Ingrid frowns and does something quick with her hands.
Sign Language, I realize.
Ingrid was either mute or deaf.
That wasn't a problem, I know how to sign. My brother was deaf, and our whole family studied sign language just to communicate with him better.
CAN YOU HELP ME OUT? -Me
Ingrid's face contorts in surprise. She looks around schooling her expression.
WHAT DO YOU NEED HELP WITH? -Ingrid
I NEED YOU TO CAUSE A DISTRACTION-Me
HOW? AS YOU CAN SEE, I CAN'T EVEN TALK PROPERLY-Ingrid
PLEASE ITS AN EMERGENCY. I HAVE TO US THE RESTROOM REALLY BAD-Me
Ingrid rolls her eyes and lets out a defeated sigh.
FINE-Ingrid
When a lower demon passes by with a tray of some strange, fuzzy white and blue drink, Ingrid did something I wouldn't expect from her especially a girl her size. Then again, never judge a book by its cover, nor a womans with strength. She pushes him, yeah, that's right a full-blown push him and sent the poor demon flying a few good paces away.
The loud clatter and the shriek of demons he split drinks on fill the air, causing the perfect distraction to slip by. I look back towards Ingrid, to give her a thumbs up in thanks, but she wasn't paying attention. A smirk adorns her face and something dark flashes in her eyes, and just like that it was gone. Maybe I imagined the whole thing?
Shaking my head, I slip through the door, and find myself in a hallway.
It was silent and there was no sign of the lower demon I saw slip in here. Making my way down the hall I find the woman's restroom. Opening the door, I walk inside locking it behind me, not wanting nosey visitors to see that a human like myself has left without permission. I let out a sigh and walked over to the sink.
Turning the water on I splash myself, a few times. A since of calmness washes over me. Looking down at the dress I wore, I tore the side where the red material squeezed the life out of my thighs, leaving a slit so my they could breathe. Satisfied, I unlocked the restroom door and stepped out. The hall was, thankfully clear, as I made my way back to the door, something grabbed me by the shoulder, and through me against the wall.
Pain exploded throughout my body, and stars danced across my vision. I'm then lifted up by the neck and suspended a few inches off the ground. My windpipe felt like a it was being crushed by metal. Through my blurred vision I could make out the arm of someone, and their red eyes.
Wrath demon eyes, I realize.
Fuck! I didn't even see them. Stupid demon stealth
Clawing at their hands for mercy, I begin feel the darkness taking over, but something warm and hot starts to form around my body, like a blanket. I see a bright white glow, begging for me to touch it. I reach out to it not caring about the consequences.
Next thing I know, a bright light cascades over me and my, almost killer. They scream in agony as I'm dropped to the ground with a loud thud, landing on my arm, which I'm pretty sure is broken. I groan as I blink in an out of consciousness, a headache starts to form between my eyes, the lasting I remember before passing out is the warm fuzzy feeling leaving my body and what I thought to be a dead demon in front of me.
But that's impossible, right?
