Blair was now in a real relationship. That fact hit her like a sack of bricks and the implications it brought made her want to sit down somewhere. It’s not like this wasn’t a happy thing but she had a lot on her mind especially regarding Ava. How was she going to tell Ava - who she just made up with - that she was going out with her friend? Or if she even felt comfortable telling anyone for that matter. Her family had been accepting but that might not be the case for everyone who came to find out the nature of their relationship.
The commotion had died down now and it was just her and Olivia again by themselves. Her family knew to give the two of them some privacy since they just officially became a couple. Blair was never one to be courageous but, in this moment, she felt like she could make the first move.
“So… Want to come up to my room?”
Olivia shot her a look and then glanced toward the living room. She wondered if ditching her parents was alright especially on Christmas, but Blair gave her a light nod and beckoned her to the stairs. Blair wanted to be alone with her or at least that’s what her eyes told Olivia. They both went up the stairs hand in hand feeling excited at this new adventure together. Olivia had to wonder though when Blair had gotten so bold. Blair had been this closed off and cold person who seemed like she had something fundamentally missing in her heart. It brought Olivia great joy to see that she might’ve filled that hole now. Before they did anything though they had to get out of there drenched clothes, so they quickly freshened up in the bathroom. Blair gave Olivia an extra set of clothes she could have while she was staying here in her house. Once they reached her room Blair raced toward her bed and jumped on it.
“Come over here Liv.” Blair said with outstretched arms.
It was nice to see a new side to Blair and to know that she was comfortable around her now. “Alright” Olivia said letting out a chuckle and stepping toward her girlfriend. Olivia shuffled herself to be leaning against the backboard of the bed with Blair between her legs. Olivia hugged Blair from behind kissing her cheek. Blair was new to this level of affection, but she welcomed it with open arms. She thought she might have been averse to the idea but once they kissed for the first time under the rain everything was thrown out the window so to speak.
“This is nice. Didn’t think I’d be one for physical intimacy” Blair said jokingly.
“We can go as fast or as slow as you want sunshine up to you”
Blair liked this side of Olivia a lot, the caring and loving side that she only got to see when it was just the two of them. She scrunched her nose though and lowered her brow at the thought of the serious conversation she wanted to have with Olivia.
“What’s wrong?”
“Not to ruin the mood, but can we talk about how we want to go about this?”
“This?” Olivia said curiously.
“Yeah, our relationship. Do you want to let everyone know? Or do you just want to keep this to ourselves and people we trust for now.
Olivia didn’t want to admit it but keeping their relationship lowkey might be for the best - at least for now. Just by being her and Ava’s friend she caught the attention of less than amicable people already. This was a budding new relationship, and Olivia didn’t want to put Blair in difficult situations because of her.
She answered Blair firmly “Honestly, I don’t think we should for now. We can tell people we trust, but I don’t want you getting into another situation like the one with the cheerleaders.”
“You’re a cheerleader to y’know” Blair said while rolling her eyes.
“Yeah, but I’m not a bitch”
That made Blair giggle and Olivia was all the happier for it. If she could just keep that happy smile and hold onto Blair - for as long as this dreamlike reality would allow her - than Olivia didn’t care what she had to do to ensure Blairs happiness.
“We should also probably talk about the elephant in the room…” she said with a hint of hesitation.
Olivia looked out the window to see the nights stars. She knew exactly what Blair was talking about. Not exactly a “what”, but a “who” that they both had in common. Ava Thompson, Blairs old best friend. They seemingly made up and now were friends again, but Olivia’s thoughts on Ava aren’t as nice as Blair’s. Ava in the past was the one who hurt Blair the most. She made her a former shell of herself as she heard it. It was all to real to say the least looking at Blair now and how she was when they first met.
“Oh. Speaking of Ava” Blair said looking at her phone with a new notification which caught Olivia’s attention as well.
Olivia looked over and saw that Ava asked Blair if she wanted to get coffee. She didn’t know if she was acting paranoid or not but whenever it involved Ava, she always had a lingering feeling of suspicion toward her.
