It felt like Keijo had stepped into the belly of the beast, but he knew that he was nowhere near the most dangerous place in the house. He needed to be quick, but he needed to be careful. He could leave no trace that he was even here. He pulled out his phone from his pocket and made a beeline to Ivar’s cluttered desk. He touched nothing, just took photos as close to the contents of the desk as possible, getting as much detail into the photos as he could.
He then went to Ivar’s bed. It was freshly made, but there was an ample amount of evidence under the bed. Knives, guns… clothing… bloody tissues, bandages… Keijo desperately wanted to take some for evidence, to see who’s blood it was, but he ignored those urges and left it alone. One side of the wardrobe was left open, so he took some photos of clothes, closing in on some of the blood stains on the sleeves, even though some were barely there.
After taking nearly a hundred photos of Ivar’s room, Keijo made his way out and down from the building. Sakari was still in the lounge room, and Keijo wished he could console him at least a bit, but he couldn’t. He somehow left the area without being seen at all, and if he rushed, he would even get to the carpark to meet Ivar without being late.
While speed walking to the meeting place, Keijo sorted the photos he had taken into a hidden folder. He was being very careful about this entire mission… He had even asked the organisation to remove his information from their website just in case either Ivar or Eji decided to look them up on the internet. He hoped that Sakari had thought of the same.
When he got to the building, Keijo realised just how tall it was. It was a ten-layer carpark… How would he find Ivar here??
Yoohoo. I see you~
What? Where? Which level?
Top level.
Alright. Coming.
He went to the elevator and pressed the button to go to the very top floor. While waiting in the elevator, he took a deep breath. He needed to not lose focus of the mission. When he got to the top, he watched the doors open slowly. There, on the other side, stood Ivar, wearing a black t-shirt, ripped jeans and a plaid shirt around his little waist. His posture was loose, comfortable, and he was smiling.
‘Wow… He’s really pretty…’
Keijo stepped out of the elevator, but he was given no time to relax. “C’mon, Keijo, we still gotta go up to the top floor. That’s where the good scenery is!”
Ivar winked at him, then ran off. He was fast, even at his leisurely pace… Imagine when he was running away from someone or chasing someone… Keijo did his best to follow him, but when he finally got up the stairs and to the edge of the carpark where Ivar was sitting on the barricade that separated solid ground from a thirty-plus meter drop, he was puffed out.
“Jeez you’re fast…”
“Yeah- sorry ‘bout that. I run a lot.”
“As a hobby?” Keijo sat on the barricade too, but unlike Ivar, he faced the carpark rather than the open air.
“Eh… I run in the mornings, when I wake up in the morning of course. Sometimes I run when I’m stressed or angry. It helps train me.”
“Ahh.“ Already, Ivar was being super talkative. That was good. “What do you do as a hobby, then?”
He knew the answer. Commit crimes. That was Ivar’s hobby. He could tell by his facial expression that he was trying to find fake hobbies to tell Keijo. His thinking face wasn’t very subtle… a pout and furrowed eyebrows.
“Well, apart from work… I enjoy the running, yes. Drinking. Partying. I do like shopping.” Keijo watched Ivar smile as he explained. Were these answers… genuine? Was ‘work’ what he was using instead of ‘robbing and assaulting people’?
“I really like shopping, actually. I like dressing up in suits for hours. Man- when I first put a corset on my brother, he hated it, but we’ll ignore that… He looked so good. He never comes shopping with me anymore. He’s- kinda my boss? I don’t know how to describe it.”
Keijo couldn’t help but be amused by Ivar’s enthusiasm. He tilted his head slightly and looked over Ivar’s fashion again. “Well, you do have a good taste in fashion, I will admit.”
When he looked up to Ivar’s face, it was blushing a deep red. Surely that wasn’t all it took? Ivar was flustered already? The slender man’s eyes darted from side to side, possibly thinking of a response. Keijo chuckled and was about to speak again when Ivar stood up abruptly, balancing on the barrier. The sudden-ness of the movement made Keijo stand and take a few steps back, adrenaline coursing through him.
“You know, I looked your name up last night. It seemed somewhat familiar. But when I looked it up, y-know what I found?”
More adrenaline coursed through Keijo. ‘Shit… I didn’t remove my name from the website in time’
Ivar smiled down at him, holding his hands behind his back and looking like some kind of posed peacock. He started walking along the thin barrier, seemingly without a care about whether he would fall. “Your name means something akin to Fairy! I think that’s adorable.”
Keijo’s cheeks flushed red and warm. He blinked a few times, his brain now scrambled and not knowing what to think. He was now more worried about whether this man would fall to his death.
“Ivar… Please don’t be reckless.”
“Oh- No need to be scared! I promise I have excellent balance. See?”
To prove his point, Ivar started running along the barrier, making Keijo’s heart race. “Ivar!”
When the man came back to Keijo, he did a little spin, and appeared to be losing balance, so Keijo grabbed his leg, pulled him down and into his arms. “You’ll give me a heart attack, Ivar.”
It took him a few seconds of staring down into Ivar’s eyes to realise just how close they were. He was currently holding one of the Korhonen brothers in his arms… and he loved it…
“Oh to be swept off my feet by a little warm fairy~”
That sentence, Ivar’s golden eyes and the little sassy raised eyebrow… that was all it took for Keijo’s heart to skip a beat for a completely different reason. Without even thinking, he blurted out a sentence he didn’t even comprehend until another few seconds later.
“I want to go on more dates with you!”
Ivar looked up at him with a sweet smile. “Me too.”
Keijo blinked, finally realising what he had said. Shit shit shit…
“W-Which is why I need you
to damn well stay alive.”
Ivar rolled his eyes. “I was in no danger, Fairy. But I appreciate the concern.”
