"He is definitely dead alright," said a short pink headed Sentient kneeling next to the corpse of the Tiffany blue Sentient who Jesse and Sue had killed as he slowly stood back up, "Who would have done this?"
"Notice all of these bullet shells lying on the floor. This can only be the doing of humans, no self respecting Sentient would use these human weapons. Human interference can be the only answer," explained a beautiful and tall woman, with long wavy midnight blue hair, "We must report this to the general, quickly. We can't have others learn about this, I can't even bear to imagine the embarrassment it will bring to our squad if word gets out that one of our own was killed by Humans. It would be a huge blow to the squad's pride!"
"Since when did you care this much about the pride of our squad, Mona?" Asked the pink headed Sentient in shock, "I mean, didn't you say you would abandon our squad in a heartbeat if you could join a stronger squad or something?"
"While I am disappointed to be a part of such a underwhelming squad, I was appointed to this squad and given the role of Secretary by General Nomrick and as long as I am in my position, I refuse for our squad to be embarrassed," responded Mona as she continued to inspect the area around The Tiffany blue Sentient's body, "Aaron, was there anything that could've been taken from this fool after he died?"
"Well that 'COM-piece' thing seems to be the only important thing missing, but the letters he received from General Nomrick are scattered around his desk. I suspect that the humans might have rummaged through it," exclaimed a black haired boy as he saluted to Mona, his superior.
The COM-piece was a device that had recently been created by one of the top scientists in the Sentient's military force. Standing for Crystal Output Magnifying Piece, the COM-Piece was a device that enhanced the amount of energy the Sentient Crystal could release. Sentients have a limited supply of this energy which they use for almost everything. The energy of the Sentient Crystal gives the Sentients incredible healing, stronger resistance, tougher skin and even enhanced senses. Without this energy, the Sentients are nothing more than ordinary Humans who they discriminate against. With all the advancements the Sentients had made in science and technology, their crystals that they all have still remained largely a mystery.
Mona exhaled as if in thought, "Interesting… Iso, go report this to General Nomrick and confirm what information he sent to Nino. Although they are only Humans, the information they possess could be catastrophic for any future military movement," she said to the pink headed person.
"Uhm… could I relay this to the general, Miss Mona?" asked Aaron in a respectful manner.
"What? Why do you wanna steal my thunder, newbie? Are you that desperate to look good in front of the general?" asked Iso rhetorically with a grin as he looked up to Aaron.
"It's… it's not that!" Defended Aaron, "I just wanted to get more experience for this job!"
Mona scoffed and said, "While it is admiral that you are so eager to gain experience, you are not even a full member of this squad. That is why I am sending Iso instead of you. Understand?"
The pink haired Iso interrupted Mona and said, "Nah… if he wants to do something, let him. The more of my work he does, the more free time I have!"
Mona sighed as she rubbed through her hair, "Your laziness is a wonder Iso. Fine, Aaron you can report this if you want to do it that badly. Iso, you and I however, have to find more information on what happened here. I noticed there were tire trails leading into the woods, perhaps you can go investigate that if you don't want to go report the information to General Nomrick."
As Aaron ran back to their base, he noticed footsteps trailing into the distance. Without thinking much of it, he ignored it and continued on his journey back to the Sentients' base. Mona and Iso continued into the forest where they found blood and immediately identified it as the blood of Nino, the Tiffany Sentient. Mona crouched down and swabbed her finger through the blood as she inspected it.
"That idiot must have used too much energy when dealing with the Humans. That explains how he could've possibly been killed by them," scoffed Mona as she expressed her annoyance at Nino's idiocy, "I would bet that he didn't even use the COM-Piece that was given to him for field testing and now it's gone."
Iso laughed to himself as he commented, "I just hope none of the General's blow up at us for losing it."
"Of course they won't," Mona bluntly stated, "I'm sure some of the smartest people would know not to blame us for the idiocy of others."
As Mona stood up, Iso looked around to see bullets lying around the blood, "Well either way, they have to blame someone and Nino is dead. He must've been shot by the looks of it too, how though? He should have avoided the bullets, unless he didn't see them coming!" Iso looks up at the mountain, "A sniper maybe? Hey Mona, I'm gonna check that mountain out. I'll be right back."
"Wait Iso, I still wanna talk about the…" Mona shouted out to Iso as he runs off, "I get no respect in this squad." She sighed as she returned to Nino's body.
The black haired Aaron arrived in Morino, the city where the Ninth Squadron is based in, in a sleek black car being driven by some other Sentient. The base of the Ninth Squadron is the smallest of all squadrons and does not look that much different from other buildings in the area.
"So it was Humans after all. No wonder Nino wasn't responding," said a man with messy white hair while eating a plate of food in what looks to be an office, "If they are Humans, they shouldn't be too far, let's have Mona and Iso scout the area and try to find them. Humans can be very slow sometimes."
"Uhm General Nomrick… Do you need me to make my way back there?" Aaron asked as he stood at attention, "I will need to call that driver back agai if that's the case."
"We don't need to go back there, new guy. Mona is someone with a really rare ability," explained General Nomrick, "With the Astral Communication she can use, she can talk to someone over a really far distance. And what is even better is that she can do it even farther than most people with the same power. Well, her entire family are actually pretty skilled in their own rights. She is really awesome. For communication sake, I told her to ignore everyone else, but me. Let's see if she did."
General Nomrick stood up from his seat and Aaron reactively stepped back from his boss, "Hello ther Mona? Are you listening to me?" Asked the general to seemingly no one.
"Yes General Nomrick, how may I help you? Asked the voice of Mona within Nomrick's mind. Aaron was unable to hear her speak.
"So the newbie explained what's going on and I want you and Iso to go and search around for the Humans they are probably close by," instructed Nomrick nonchalantly.
"Oh… Uhm…" Replied a nervous Mona, "Well you see sir. Iso sort of isn't here right now."
"What?" the general was left confused as to Mona's response, "Where is he then?"
"Well uhm… he is currently climbing a mountain against my command," explained Mona.
"He must be climbing the mountain to try and search for those Humans," exclaimed the white haired man in realization as to what Iso was trying to do, "Glad I have that man in my squad. Well go catch up with Iso and try to find them alright!"
Mona remained silent for a short period until she responded, "Yes sir. If that is what i need to do, I will be deactivating my Astral communication to sustain my Energy sir."
General Nomrick nodded and said, "I understand Mona. Report back to me when you have completed it."
"Did it work sir?" asked Aaron as he heard only one side of the conversation.
"Yes, it worked perfectly. Like I said, Mona is amazing," praised the White haired General at Mona's skills.
"Oh sir! What exactly did you send to Nino that the Humans would have possibly found?" enquired the young soldier.
"Well I sent him a few notes about the Rebels and scouting routes he should take to determine where those Rebels would be hiding. That's all," explained Nomrick, "That is actually partially why I told Mona to go look for the Humans, if they found the scouting sheets and took some of the plans, they may use it and work with the rebels or something. Imagine that... a bunch of Humans working with rebels to fight against our government. I don't expect the rebels to ever do something like that though. Regardless of what they are planning on doing with any of that information, I doubt that those Humans will be in the same place where they started off at."
Aaron remembered back to when he discovered the footstep. He realized that it might actually human footsteps, but decided to remain silent to that revelation. While he was a Sentient and was part of their army, he did not necessarily care about the humans and he also did not want needless bloodshed. So he decided to remain silent and hope that the humans go undiscovered by his two squadmates.
Mona rushed up the mountain to where Iso was and found him merely sleeping next to a rock up the mountain.
"So this is why you really went up the mountain," responded an annoyed Mona to the snoring Iso as she kicked him awake, "Look at you making me look the fool while you are just sleeping during our mission."
"I… I knew you were gonna show up," explained the pink head as he rubbed the area where he was kicked, "I wanted to wait for you and kinda got tired."
"Well then why did you ignore me when I was trying to communicate with you?" asked the exasperated Mona.
"Oh… Uhm, well I was asleep and when I sleep, I can't really hear things," explained Iso as he tried to find a logical excuse.
"Ugh… just forget about it, General Nomrick thinks the Humans are still nearby. I'm not sure why he thinks that if they were close we should've heard them or something," said Mona to her lazy comrade.
"Well there are Humans, I wouldn't really say they're nearby," stated Iso as he pointed in a South-Westerly direction, "Right over there."
Mona leaned a bit forward and squinted a bit to try and see what Iso was describing when she noticed a group of about 40 humans traveling in vehicles and with carts. "Hmm, if you can see that distance, maybe General Nomrick was right about you being in our squad," Mona interjected, complimenting her partner's eyesight.
"Are we gonna kill them or what?" asked Iso as a smirk rose on his face.
Mona rubbed her eyes and responded, "Just be sure to use the COM-piece that was given to you unlike that idiot Nino."
"So that we can get field data, I know, I know!" Iso whined, "I don't like all these techno enhancements though."
Mona sighed and said, "Just suck it up and use it."
The two Sentients made their way down the mountains to attack and kill the humans who they spotted.
