"So he was working with the humans?" asked Mona to herself as she and Iso tried to escape the area, "That makes a lot of sense."
The pink haired Iso looked at his midnight blue comrade and asked, "What do you mean 'he' who was that human?"
"I can't tell you as it's actually top secret, but I can tell you that that human is not human," explained Mona as she tried to heal her wounds, "We can discuss this more when we get back."
The duo returned to their base in Morino where Mona immediately began explaining what happened on their mission.
General Nomrick was seated at his desk when he said, "So he was helping humans after he escaped Windsor huh?"
Mona panicked when she asked, "Sir, shouldn't we talk about this in private?"
General Nomrick sighed as he stood up to speak, "It's fine, but are you sure it was the Half that escaped?"
Mona confirmed, "Of course sir, although I never saw the face of the escaped Half. How else could a human-like creature do that?"
Aaron was standing next to Another yellow headed girl a bit younger than him, confused by the conversation. Nomrick noticed and asked, "You never seen a Half before, newbie?"
Aaron sighed and shook his head, Nomrick chuckled as he explained, "Well it was actually meant to be a secret, but it will be fine since no one really cares. As it may sound, a Half is half Sentient. Now... you may think that they are weaker than a typical Sentient, but that isn't necessarily the case. Unlike us, they go through much more passive development of their power which gives them much larger supplies of energy than us."
Sentients go through two types of development through their lifetime. The first type is the passive development that occurs from the beginning of their life until when they are able to use their power, usually at around age 5. This passive development grows their energy supplies which allows Sentients to use more power. Once they have begun using their power, they then go through active development which is through using their power they grow. Unlike passive development which grows your energy supplies, active development helps one focus the energy to prevent them from needlessly wasting their energy and allows for stronger attacks. A Sentient would change from passive development to active development at around age 5, Halves would at around age 16. Meaning that Halves go through far more passive development than Sentients do, so their energy supplies are far greater than a regular Sentient as a result these halves can waste large amounts of energy to do attacks like the explosion that Jesse had created. If a Sentient had tried that, they would have almost certainly passed out of energy exhaustion.
"Now the Third General is trying to study the Halves to make us stronger and the Eighth General has turned it into a bit of a hobby," explained the general.
"So what should we do about the escaped Half then sir?" asked Mona, "Should we keep it to ourselves?"
"While normally I would say to keep it secret," Nomrick explained, "We have to announce this to someone. Mona, link me up with someone for a second."
Mona nodded and asked, "Who do you wish to contact?"
"I need you to link me up with Vander. He is the man I wanna speak to," stated Nomrick.
Mona looked surprised as to his order, "Gen… General Vander!! But he is like 3 Cities away. I can't reach that far!!"
Nomrick sat down again and said, "You aren't meant to connect to him directly. All of us Generals have someone like you, who can use Astral Communication so that we can speak to each other since most of us live far from one another. Just connect to his secretary and it'll work."
"Of course sir," Mona sounded slightly embarrassed as she did not realize that.
She initiated contact with the Secretary of Command of General Vander. Since they both had the Astral Communication power, the strain that they had to endure was lessened.
"Why hello there Miss Mona, for what reason am I being humbled by you today?" asked a sultry male voice.
"Good evening Ronan, General Nomrick had requested he speak with General Vander. Could you connect us to him, perchance?" asked Mona in a very formal tone.
Ronan let out a ha' as he said, "Mona, you know the doctor is very busy. I'm afraid you can't speak with him right now."
Mona expressed her disappointment for her squad mates to see when she asked her old friend again, "Ronan, let us speak with him. We have some urgent news to discuss."
"Whatever the rebels are doing, it doesn't concern the Doctor. Maybe you can discuss it with someone else," explained Ronan, preventing Mona and Nomrick from getting into contact with Vander.
"The information we have has nothing to do with the rebellion," rebutted Mona, "It's about the Half that escaped from Windsor. We found him protecting a troupe of Humans."
Ronan remained silent before he replied, "Ugh, just for you Mona. I'll connect you to Doctor Vander right now."
Ronan connected General Vander to the link while Mona did the same with General Nomrick.
Nomrick exclaimed, "Well if it isn't the Mad Man himself!!"
"What do you want, Nomrick? You know how busy I am!" exclaimed a frustrated hoarse voice.
"Relax Vander, I'm here to talk about that Half that escaped," assured Nomrick.
"I already know that, you fool. I have a secretary for a reason," lashed General Vander, "K1 is becoming more and more of a nuisance."
Nomrick responded, "Yeah that's why I'm talking to you!"
General Vander sighed as he replied, "I shall send someone to fix this problem. Now stop talking to me! I'm on the cusp of a breakthrough!" The link was then severed by Ronan.
"Now that that is sorted out, let's get back to our job," stated Nomrick as he stretched from his chair.
Aaron, still a bit confused, asked, "But sir, what about the… Half… shouldn't we do something about it?"
"Well, the Half was never our problem, and since we told Vander about it, it definitely isn't our problem now," explained General Nomrick in a lax tone.
Iso Looked up to his commander and asked, "But sir, if the Half was working with Humans, what if he was involved with what happened to Nino. Wouldn't it be our responsibility to get revenge?"
"That is true, but just because he was helping the humans doesn't mean he was the one who killed Nino," explained Nomrick.
"But sir, if he was the one who killed Nino, we can't let him go unpunished. We were part of his crew, we should get revenge," replied the girl with yellow hair.
"You guys really wanna get this Half, don't you?" sighed the General, "Fine, let's go avenge Nino's death."
The entire squad began cheering at Nomrick's command with Mona being the only exception.
Meanwhile, Ronan, a tall man with peachy coloured hair, was with General Vander. The general could not be seen as he was hidden in the shadows.
"If it's really that Half, then this could be dangerous sir. You know whose blood he has in him," explained Ronan to his boss.
"While it's true his father has been a thorn to me his whole life, he is only half his father, I wouldn't worry too much," responded the busy Vander in a more calm tone, "It's strange that he would protect Humans though. He was never one to care about helping, Humans and Sentients alike."
"Well, maybe he has a reason to protect the Humans, like he relates to them more than us or something like that," wondered Ronan.
"Or maybe they aren't the same Half," the general retaliated, "If K1 is not the same Half that Nomrick's band of idiots encountered, then that would be all the better. For us at least. But it's most likely he is K1."
Ronan simply nodded as he asked, "So are you going to send sir? Folke maybe?"
General Vander asked his secretary in confusion, "What are you talking about Ronan?"
"You said you would send someone to sort out the problem with the Half sir," explained Ronan.
"Well, I'm not sending anyone! I'm tired of having to sort this stuff out myself," complained the irritated general, "That Half can do whatever it wants for cryig out loud! Get me my tools, I have to figure out why these COM-pieces are all fritzing out. It would be nice if i could get Field data for this stuff, but it's yet another thing I have to sort out myself."
"But sir, if the Supreme General finds out that you are doing nothing about the Half when you said you would handle it. He would freak out," explained Ronan trying to convince his commander.
"Fine. I will sort that out once I finish this problem right now!!" Vander said, "For now… just send Tenin. He would love to do it."
An elderly gentleman with a very suave voice walked into the room. The elderly gentleman with his long, combed back white hair spoke, "Please General Vander. Allow me to do the honours and complete this job."
Ronan was surprised by the gentleman, but Vander responded in his grating voice, "I don't care who goes! Just get the job done!"
