As we ran, I couldn't help but think about my mother and father. I knew that I had to find them, but the fear of what I might find kept me from saying anything to Alfred. Chris was silent as well, probably thinking about his other friends and family.
After what felt like an eternity, we finally reached the edge of the village. The demonoids had stopped chasing us, but destruction and red smoke were still visible from where we stood, even though it was currently night.
"We have to find shelter and regroup," Alfred said, panting. "We'll gather as many survivors as we can and plan our next move."
I nodded, still in shock. Chris clung to Alfred's side, tears streaming down his face.
We started looking for a place to stay the night and eventually we found a nearby cave that Chris directed us to. Apparently, he and his other friends practiced magic there, and luckily we weren't the only ones who thought of this place. We managed to see some familiar faces.
We spent the night huddled together, trying to come up with a plan. It was clear that we couldn't stay in the village any longer, but where could we go? The demonoids were searching for something, and it was only a matter of time before they found it.
I couldn't shake the feeling that my parents were still out there, somewhere. I knew that I had to find them, no matter what.
As the others discussed their options, I made a decision. I would stay behind and search for my parents, even if it meant going alone. It was risky, but I couldn't abandon my family.
I gathered my courage and stood up, interrupting the conversation. "I'm going to stay here and look for my parents,"
"No way," Chris said, standing up. "We can't leave you here alone. It's too dangerous."
Alfred nodded in agreement. "I can't allow you to stay here by yourself, Zildra. It's not safe."
I looked at them, desperation welling up inside of me. "I have to find my parents," I said. "I can't just leave them out there, not knowing what happened to them."
Alfred sighed and ran a hand through his hair. "I understand how you feel, but we can't just send you out there alone. We need to come up with a plan to search for them safely, as a group."
I nodded, understanding their concerns. I knew that it would be difficult to find my parents with such a small group, but I was glad to have the support of my friends.
As the others settled down to sleep, I couldn't help but wonder what the future held for us. I knew that the demonoids would be back, and that we were outnumbered and outmatched. But I also knew that I had the love and support of my friends and the memories of my parents to keep me going.
I closed my eyes, determined to do whatever it took to survive and find my family. The next morning, we set out to search for my parents and any other survivors. It was a risky plan, but we were determined to do whatever it took to find our loved ones and bring them to safety.
As I closed my eyes and started to drift off, I heard a thumping voice, somewhere from inside of me. It was saying something in a language I had never heard before - or so I think. I somehow understood it, but I didn't know how. I opened my eyes and found myself in a black void with a mysterious figure in front of me. It reminded me of the demonoids, but it had a peaceful aura about it. The figure opened its mouth and all I could hear was "run."
