"Your first question!" The creature reminded me.

"Oh!", I shook.

[What should I ask? Many questions were piling up in my mind.]

One thing was common in most of the questions. My mouth opened before I could realise it.

"Why do I keep reincarnating?"

The following situation turned silent. I thought that I shouldn't have asked that question.

"Very well, I shall answer your first question!"

"!!!!"

As I received a positive result, my mind seemed to have lightened up. Nearly two hundred thousand and five hundred years... It took me that long to receive such a heaven-made opportunity. All my years of pain and struggle were coming to fruition. As the large entity opened its mouth, I stood firm to not falter at what was about to be revealed.

"The origin of light and the origin of aftermath didn't like to see you rising above as a 'Grand law'!!"

His exclamation threw me into confusion, "... The origin of light and the origin of aftermath?"

[Moreover, what is a 'Grand law'?]

As I heard that mysterious and anonymous word, I started to become even more doubtful. Even when I was a Demon god, I never heard the term 'Grand law'. Maybe it was a phrase that referred to  beings who posed a threat or it could be a phrase that referred to beings who were omnipotent. But it didn't make any sense.

In the first place, origin of light and aftermath are Origin entities who never involved themselves in the filthy war between the demons and gods. Based on my knowledge, the origin of light is the creator of light. Both divine and demonic powers originated from the power of light. Pure and refined light got classified as divine power and impure and unrefined light got classified as demonic power.

But, I never got to know anything about the origin of the aftermath. All that I knew was he was the lord of the afterlife. Only the dead know anything about the origin of the aftermath. When I was the Demon god, I made a devious ploy to catch a glimpse of the origin of the aftermath. I killed one of my subordinates whose might was equal to a god. He was tasked to live a thousand years in the afterlife, investigating how things work in that realm. After a thousand years, when I revived him, he told me a few things.

If a person or a creature commits evil deeds, they would live a life that is as despairing as a beggar's.

But if a person committed good deeds, they would live a prosperous and luxurious life like a noble.

A greedy merchant would become a downcast beggar who would be stuck in despair until their soul vanishes to thin air. The longevity of every soul varies depending on its karma.

But when the briefing came to the part of the lord of the afterlife, my subordinate was unable to open his mouth. I didn't get what was happening to him, but at some point I realised it.

"Sovereignty!!!"

It was the sovereignty of the lord that kept him from revealing any info. That was my way of realising that origin entities are not beings with infinite power but they themselves are powers. Powers with a living consciousness.

The creature spoke,

"Now, what is your second question?"

---slap---

I hit my head to make sure to keep myself calm. Instead of asking the question that I want to, I asked something else out of the ordinary.

"What is a Grand law??"

The dragon-faced creature raised its other hand and snapped the fingers.

---flick---

The surroundings changed with the snap of his fingers. I realised that I was sitting on a black chair and in front of me was an old man with a neat appearance sitting on a sofa. After looking into his eyes, it made me realise that he was none other than the entity I was talking to until now. Even though his appearance had changed, his eyes were still the same. I got curious all of a sudden.

"Are you a male or a female?"

The old man turned towards me and said,

"I can either be a male or a female! What gender do you want me to be?"

Earlier, when he was in his monster appearance, his voice sounded close to that of a man. That made me sure that this being is a male type. So, I answered firmly.

"You can continue being a male!"

"I thought you would prefer a female!", said the old man.

I felt awkward since I was witnessing an origin entity joking around. I brought myself together.

"Okay, jokes aside. I am still waiting for the answer, Mr Dragon-face!"

The disguised old man began talking.

"I am feeling a bit uneasy when you are calling me Mr Dragon-face!"

I was getting impatient as the situation dragged on and on.

"Then what should I call you?"

The being formed a grin.

"I am the origin of dark, Dray Madrona. You can address me as Madrona!"

"!!!!"

That name was just a single alphabet different from mine. I became even more impatient as the situation is turning crazier.

"Phew... Your answer please, Mr Madrona!"

The grin on the old man's face turned into a smile,

"That's more like it... Rather than telling you, it is better to show you everything!"

The index finger of Madrona omitted a visible aura and entered my mind. Everything turned dark. I was in the middle of the dark, no... I would rather call it 'Abyss'. Suddenly, a speck of light began to emanate from a distance. The speck of light evolved into a huge radiating light. I covered my eyes due to the pain caused by the omnipotent glow of the light.

Later, the events were followed by a huge explosion for a few hours. The dark was filled with light. Different kinds of lights began to scatter around. I was witnessing the Big Bang theory with Madrona's mind magic. It felt like a Virtual Reality with hypergraphics.

Among those numerous lights, I was able to recognise the pure and impure light with my previous life's knowledge.

Everything began to move fast. Dimensions, multiverses, universes, galaxies and planets began to form. The scene followed one thing after another. And then came a scenario where angels, demons and living creatures like dragons, wyverns, werewolves, vampires, warriors, mages, gods and other races were fighting a single race. Even when I was a Demon god, I never witnessed a war of such a large scale.

The whole ground was crumbling and the sky was a mess. I witnessed clashes, thunder strikes, explosions in mid-air, even among the clouds. Magma began to lash out from the crust all over the place.

I wondered who the opponents were to get several other races involved in this mess. They were wearing dark costumes and battle armour that were emitting darkened crimson flames. Some were emitting darkened violet flames while some were emitting darkened blue flames. Those darkening flames were different for everyone. There were seven darkened flames. Every colour of the darkened flames was those that are present in a rainbow. That must meant that the darkened violet flames are the most powerful and darkened crimson flames are the least. The dark aura wrapping around the red aura must be a side effect since the end result was crimson.

[To think Madrona used his least powerful authority over me.]

When I looked from above, the view was like a fight between two rainbows. One rainbow omitted huge rays of light whereas the other was dim but rather ominous with dark flames. The light and the dark were clashing with each other.

The war continued to get even more fierce and gruesome. That was to be noted since the scale of the war was not on a single plot of land, but an entire continent. What was even more shocking was that there were collisions and impacts even in space. As the deaths of each side increased, the war began to get dull. Everything was about to come to an end.

All of a sudden, there was a black hole in between the space... No, I should call it a crack rather than a black hole since it seemed like a gateway for teleportation. The crack was black and white like a black hole. On the other side opened a crack that looked like a real crack on a glass window. The hole in between the crack omitted all kinds of light rays.

From the black and white crack, a being with a dragon's face and dark armour that was omitting darkened flames stepped upon the outer space.

And from the other side, a woman with pure white skin, shiny armour and eyes that emanated flames of multiple colours descended into space.

I had a hunch. The one with the dark armour must be Madrona and the woman with shiny armour must be the origin of light since her flames were shining brighter than the sun. My eyesight was adjusted with Madrona looking after the mind magic.

Both entities released their powers. I saw Madrona unleashing all the seven darkening flames at once. The pressure was so omnious that the living races of light that were on the battlefield began to die while vomiting blood. The pressure emitted by the origin of light was no joke either. She emanated all kinds of light that were pure and impure or rather divine and demonic. This time, the dark entities began to fall.

Madrona was using his power with all the seven darkened flames in harmony. On the other hand, the origin of light was using her powers by harmonizing the divine and demonic light flames. They glowed brighter than before. I never witnessed a single case where someone had the authority over those two opposing natures.

Both the origin entities began to clash by exchanging fists.

---rumble---

Their fight left me dumbfounded. Not even my demon-god self can omit such destruction through sheer strength. The sun nearby began changing its shape like a floating drop of water. Cracks began to open in outer space.

Huge waves of impact began to emanate.

---boom---

Both of them began to use their sovereignty. I was unable to catch up to their speed. I looked at the battlefield where the war was prevailing.

"Hmph???"

The dead were nowhere to be found.
