My back is still tingling all over but the pain is mostly gone after sir Trystan but a weird yellow greenish paste on my back. I asked him how long I would need to hide the wound from mother. His only reply was that I shouldnt worry about such a thing right now. Apparently most of the men that fell in battle were saved from death. I sat with Trystan while I watched as people came out of the wagons that were starting to tend to the wounded.
I have never seen anything like It. The people pulled out various amulets and held a loud a prayed while a golden light sprung from their hands. This light engulfed the wounded and healed them so much so that they could stand after a few minutes. I couldn't even manage that even after 15 minutes. I was amazed on how one of the first healed immediately went to help the others.
Trystan started to explain.
" Pretty amazing right? I guess you never saw divine magic before"
I nodded enthusiastically.
"Their powers come from their belief and prayer in various gods. While most people worship multiple gods. Clerics as we call them only give their belief to their chosen god. In return the most loyal are granted the blessing to cast divine magic."
I asked him to which god he prays.
" Well I personally humor most of the pantheon though my main belief is in the Platinum Dragon the father of all good dragon and dragonkin Bahamut. You may think I am a cleric but I am not. I am a Paladin my power comes from an oath that I swore long ago to Bahamut."
He has a very prideful look on his scaly face as he tells me this. His head is similiar to a lizard that I once catched to unsuccessfully prank my younger sister. His body is covered in golden scales and his eyes are sky blue. His pupil is a slit which still makes me a bit uneasy but the rest is so damn cool.
He wears a plate armor adorned with gravings that seem like letters. Sadly I can not read them which bums me out quite a bit. He has a massive shield next to him as big as my torso and on his breastplate is a tabard with a platinum dragon. I point to It.
"So I guess thats Bahamut then? Thank you for granting Trystan this power." I bow my head to It.
Trystan looks at me curiously but he starts to smile with a toothy grin. He starts asking me If I can walk and where I live. The plan of this caravan is to make a stop in Silvertree to recruit able bodied for the city guard of Tyrael.
Thats when I remember that my mother told me I should be back by noon because my grandpa is coming to visit.
" My home is not far from here. Oh man I am in big trouble I forgot that grandpa is coming to visit. I should have been back already."
" Should be no problem at all" says Trystan " I will ride with you there just let me get my horse Elaine."
Trystan leaves and comes back with a big black horse. It looks really strong but quite majestic too. The saddle on It is coloured in the whitest white I have ever seen. The reins are golden.
" You can hop up but becareful when you get down she can be quite feisty to strangers."
Ever smiling Trystan helps me up on his horse and I give him the directions to where I live. I am absolutely amazed by the speed of Elaine. So much so that I cant keep my excitement from flushing over and I start to make order like I am the one that is riding her.
