We have been riding for what felt like hours, thighs chaffing, body aching like a led weight, all around bad time to say the least. But through it all, Lonán held himself up his gloves knuckles as the sun dropped down passed the surrounding trees.
"We should stop here for the night. No need to exhaust ourselves before we get there." Lonán seems to almost mumble the idea to himself before shrugging, turning his head to face me he nudged his head to one side. "Let's find a spot to sleep."
Nodding, the corners of Lonán's eyes crest into a smile. We'll as much as I can see of his eyes, the hood and scarf combo still hides him like a vail.
After a few more yards a clearing came into view the smell of winter dew wafted through the air. Hopping down, tying up the horses to the lowest branches, and setting up a small camp. Lonán falls onto the ground fingers etching into the dirt until a small hazy mix of purple and blue slipped through his fingers.
"Done."
Grunting, smoke slowly enveloped the borders of the forest. Cloaking the horses, and us in a thick layer.
"We'll be safe until morning." Standing from the fire he stretched, reached into his cloak, and pulled out a bedroll. Fixing it into place, I turn my back to watch the slow flames. Until something soft hit my back. Turning around a bedroll sits on the ground beside me. "Sleep."
Taking the bedroll, I turn back around, fixing it not to close, but close enough to the fire to stay warm. Unclasping my armor from the sides, and pull it off the feeling the air against my dark skin causes a chill to rush down my back.
Placing my armor down, I pull myself into the bed roll. Closing my eyes another wild shiver running down my spine as the flames ever so slowly start to warm me up.
After a few minutes, I look over to where Lonán his body facing away from me, cloak covering his figure in a tight cocoon. Curiosity digging like nails into my brain. But, I close my eyes and make myself comfortable.

Feeling the sickening void within my gut twists and turns, I could barely keep my eyes open as the dripping of magic pulls from every nerve. Another day, another sleepless night that I should be used to it by now. But even now its almost as if my very soul's essence is being sucked from my body. Shaking violently the world finally slips within darkness just as the sprinkle of sunlight finally pours through.
~~~~
The sun finally hits my eyes making me groan slowly. Squinting my eyes, I finally sit up letting the nights dew filled air fall away to early morn.
"Ready?"
Whipping my head around Lonán stands off to the side dusting himself off of ash. The campfire long gone, that nothing but the dirt remained. Getting out of the bedroll, I nod and start pulling on my armor, the bedroll vanishing as soon as I pushed off the ground. Clicking the straps back into place, I turn towards the horses to undo the leads.
Handing Lonán his lead, I pull up onto my saddle turning my head to watch Lonán as he pulls himself up. Getting himself comfortable we start back up towards the road.
