Ryan had been preparing to cut ties with his current boss and be more grounded in this line of work for a while now. He already had plans to set up his own company, and with a few of the people he had met, they'll be enough for a small start up.
He picked up the phone as soon as it rang.
'I've got the date set for you to meet with the chairman. Its just for formalities since he had already approved of our building plan.'
'When we are done, I need to set up the finishing touches on the office. The business cards are ready for us to use. If we get invited to the event, we need to make moves as quickly as we can.' Ryan said in his business voice.
The meeting with the company's executives was on Tuesday as scheduled and the Chairman loved him. Ryan also found out that the Chairman had tried to recruit him about a year ago but was told it won't be possible. They cleared up that and any other misunderstanding and signed a contract which put him in charge of the 20-story building close to the park.
'I would like to invite you to attend the banquet on the 1st of next month,' the Chairman said handing him an envelope. 'there are some people I would like to introduce you to. We should have dinner sometime next week as well so I can show you around'.
The next week came and they had the dinner, met some really important people and made more connections. The dinner was very stressful, though when he came back home, he got dressed and went out again, to "enjoy the night life".
After wandering around for a bit, before he realised it, he found himself back at that bar.
What am I hoping for being here? He asked himself over and over again, staring at the entrance.
It's the 4th day this week that he's been there. The bartender looks at him and approaches carefully. 'I have to ask. Do you just love it here or are you coming for something specific. All you've done everyday is drink, stare at the door and leave. Don't get me wrong, I am happy either ways but are you sure I can't help you in anyway?'
'I'm just being hopeful, there's nothing specific I'm looking for.' Ryan said hesitantly. There's no harm in telling him, who knows what might happen.
'There's this guy that I talked to here before. I ran into him again recently and now I can't get him out of my head, can't stop thinking about him. Everything about him was so beautiful.' He said in a hushed tone sipping his drink.
As you can probably tell I don't really have any exprience with this sort of relationship but I've never actually been opposed to it. I did some research and there really isn't much difference and I don't even know if he swings that way as well.' He continued rambling on about him.... on and on, while drinking.... 'He's the first person I've ever felt this way about, but whenever I'm around him I loose all my confidence.' He raised his glass towards his eye and faced the door.
Staring at the entrance thinking to himself: All I need him to do is walking in right now and I can atleast get to see him. Looking at the door through the blurry glass as if trying to open it with the power of his mind.
It opens to his surprise and he looks up away from the cup, hoping.
