In Elderia, there was a fabled squad referred to as Team A. They were the first people that King Berlit contacted for any problems and their astounding merit was further exemplified by the fact that one of their members was a Chosen One, a title honoured by Elderians as they saw it as a sign of theiir bond with Earth but to the military that member was just seen as a human given everything yet deserving nothing.
All they ever heard about them was that they had no connection to Earth and came to Elderia with a stronger Derare link than any not from Earth could ever dream of.
That human's first outing with Team A did not go well.
"Seigi, the only reason we don't crumple you now is that the King likes you." A general consensus he got from the three grizzly male Elderians on the team but from one of the few women he had seen fighting, Kirsti, there was another attitude.
She was not exactly the friendliest but she did try to help Seigi get familiarized with all he had to do, she did not really see him as a human but another teammate who could contribute.
To anybody it is obvious the was nothing that she cared more for than the mission. Seigi liked that.
When Team A was given the job of finding new Chosen Ones to populate Elderia, he did not show Kirsti's same dedication to the mission. Him and the rest went off to form Team B, the King allowed it as competition made it all the more exciting for him.
Weeks after, they were barely in contact. Kirsti was preparing to leave Elderia and that was when she saw that weasel. She ran after him and was able to stop him but could not say anything, the sight of him infuriated her.
"You know you don't have to do whatever Berlit says, he's a nut sometimes." Seigi advised. Kirsti's nose flared and the her eyes covered in a look of disgust shot daggers at Seigi
"Never refer to the King like that! Additionally, what are you doing in this kingdom if not doing what you were sent here for, false Chosen?" Kirsti said. Pushing him out and trudging back to her office. What a nonsense interaction.
How could she,Seigi thought. Were his previous thoughts of her false like how she viewed him. He thought she viewed him differently than the others, that she was different. " Wow, I guess the act has worn out. You never meant to help me with my problems." He shouted with tears in his eyes.
"I am a person with a life outside of your problems. Also, teammates help each other so you weren't my teammate but a whining distraction." Kirsti said in retaliation. Her words stung and wrung in his ears like light reflecting on a mirror.
His memories with this person he always admired came to him as he used all of his energy trying to hurt her. What was he doing? Not even he could truly answer that.
"Goodbye, Kirstiella. May King Berlit reward you well."
The swings stopped, his frustration stopped and his life stopped.
His armour disappeared and his scorched body layed there. In peace.
Feeling lost, bored with it all or like a failure? Everyone's the hero of their own story and when heroes think like that, we all know who visits them. Is that how things are going to work with our resident failure, Don Rose? I mean heck, has anything worked in his adult life?
