Ken stood astonished by the person in front of him. He had been pretty forward for a first meeting, but the person seemed friendly. Still, there was something "It was nice to meet you. Sorry for getting in your way..." He apologized for the last time, contemplating if he should go back inside and find Adonael.
He didn't have to, fortunately. The black-haired demon finally made his way outside with a large bag full of snacks. Elijah and Ken weren't too far from the entrance, so it wasn't hard to miss them. He saw, however, that Ken was speaking to a large and beautiful person. He stopped in his tracks. Who was he talking to? Someone he knew?
Was it an Ex? Adonael watched them for a moment. His eyes narrowed at the thought, but the patch of platinum blonde seemed familiar. While he hadn't wanted to seem like the jealous type (that was too late, Ken already knew), he couldn't help but find a way to interrupt their conversation. The patch of white was too similar. Adonael made his way over to them, wrapping his arm around Ken's shoulders. He smiled, "Ken! I'm done~" he didn't acknowledge the person just yet.
Ken looked up at him, only a little shocked that Adonael had decided to sneak up on him like that. "Oh! Finally..." He muttered under his breath. What had taken him so long? He saw the bags dangling near his face and got his answer. He rolled his eyes, "Who are you talking to?" Adonael asked. Ken looked over, "Oh, Adonael. This is Elijah. We bumped into each other just now." Ken gestured over to them, turning over to see their face. Elijah's expression had become unreadable. They had been smiling at him just fine a few moments before, but now that Adonael was there, the mood was tense. Their face was flat.
Elijah said nothing to either of them, creating an awkward atmosphere. "Uh! This is Adonael, Elijah." Ken quickly said before the mood got worse. Elijah studied them for a few moments before smiling again. "I see; it's a pleasure to meet you both."
Adonael only nodded, "Sure was. Ken, let's go home already." He wanted to leave there. He seemed to have been correct about the general vibe of this person. Spoiler alert; It was terrible. Ken stared at Adoanael in disbelief. He should've known he wouldn't be keen on another person, but he didn't have to be rude. "Right...Sorry, Elijah! I'll see you around, okay?" Ken had too much of a headache to lecture Adonael. The demon turned his head to give a wide grin to Elijah. If they walked away now, there would be no other reason to meet them again.
But with Ken's back turned, no longer focusing on the beautiful person in front of them, Adonael froze his plan to give him his smug look altered. What had been a kind smile toward Ken shifted in a second when faced with Adonael. He was given the nastiest of glares. He took a closer look at the person. Huh. The person's eyes were glowing; a familiar angelic light surrounded them.
Huh...? Wasn't this person a human? So why did his eyes glow? His eyes widened as Elijah raised his arm, "Um, Ken!" It was the first time they raised their voice, so it surprised Ken. "Hm?"
Elijah reached into their pocket, pulling their phone out. "Actually...I want to meet you again. Is it alright if I have your number?" They sounded timid, sure that they could easily fool Ken into a friendship. Ken stared at them, unsure of what to say at first. Ken smiled at him, "You know what? Sure! Why not?" Elijah's presence, as weird as they were, was comforting. They seemed a little nerdy, so they seemed like a great company. Adonael watched in astonishment.
They exchanged numbers while smiling and chatting like they had been friends for a lifetime. Elijah had a slight red tint that displayed across his pale face. Ken waved, "Let's talk later, yeah? I'm sleepy." Elijah could only nod quickly, seemingly happy to have Ken's phone number. Ken turned and began walking away.
Adonael was appalled. His mouth was hung open like a trout. How had Ken fallen for that? He looked between Elijah and Ken, wondering how he let that get out of hand. Adonael locked eyes with Elijah, "...What's your deal? Really...what do you want with Ken?" He spat. Whoever this person was, Adonael didn't trust them. But was it his jealousy, or was it the feeling he got every time their eyes met? Either way, Elijah was dangerous.
Elijah tilted their head; their lovely, harmless smile twisted into a wicked grin. "See you, Ken~" Elijah had completely disregarded Adonael's line of questioning, deciding to walk into the convenience store as intended. Adonael watched as the sliding doors closed on him. He growled.
"Adonael! What are you doing? Let's go!" Ken called.
Adonael turned on his heel. Elijah was dangerous. That much was obvious. But how could he tell Ken that without seeming like a jealous ass? He caught up to Ken pretty quickly. They walked in silence for a while. "Why did you get their number?" Adonael finally asked.
