Thorry's father is still standing at attention. Trystan handwaves him that he should stop.
"Good day to you. I am templeknight Trystan from Tyrael City." He gives him a small nod.
" My names Peter, Sir. Its a honour to meet a templeknight again. Years ago I also tried myself in the selection. I sadly failed in all 3 points. I returned at being a farmer. Did Thorry do something wrong or why is such an important figure here at a humble farm? With my son in tow too."
Peter reaches with his hand for a handshake which Trystan gives him. Trystan raises an eyebrow.
"Last I heard you didn't fail in the selection. Atleast the old geezer Bran told me that before I went to Silvertree. You just found the love of your life and ran away! Can't say I blame you hahaha." He gives him a knowing smile before patting him on the back.
" Originally I came here for your father. More later on that. On the road we were ambushed by a group of organized goblins. Your son was foolishy trying to help us defeat the ''monsters''. He got caught up in a fireball spell by our assigned mage Durxel. As you can see he survived also quite lucky that I met him that soon."
Peter sighs with relief before putting on a serious face
"I think I need to have a talk with my son later. Thank you for saving him. Somethings wrong about the goblins though they shouldnt be this near the village."
"I absolutely agree. We captured and saved the goblin that your son clobbered with a stick. He is still refusing to speak but we got one thing out of him. We were supposed to be delayed by them ordered by an elven hooded figure. We still don't know who that is yet"
Peter responds confused. He is fidgeting with his hands as he prepares for the likely answer.
" Thats where your father William the city guard captain comes in. Our intelligence service gave us a tip that somebody is trying to threaten your father. Which is why the patrols around the forest got less and goblins were undetected. Peter if you know anything about your father to help us please tell me. Did he change his behaviour recently? Did he focus on something particular?"
Peter is deep in thought. He recalls their meeting today and the last few times.
"Well he pushed pretty hard for Thorry to begin with training as a guard and he asked us if we saw and talked to any strange people here. On which we said no because we are pretty secluded. We don't see many other people here. He weirdly kept bringing up the selection for the city guard."
Putting a finger on his sharp pointed chin Trystan says:
"So the selection It is. Isn't It too early for the boy to be training for the guard?"
"Well It was promised a long time ago. My father got help from a noble family. He never explained for what the help was but anyway I digress. We give our first born away to be trained in return. We made a deal a few months back that we only send Thorry when he himself wants to go but my old man said something happened and he needed Thorry now. He could even come back in a few months. So we reluctantly agreed."
Trystan is shaking his head. He wants to break something but he supresses his anger.
"Your father made a crap deal with the wrong people then. I guess thats the reason you were sent to Tyrael City back then? Were you the firstborn?"
Peter nods and Trystan continues with his questions.
" Well do you have anything against It if I put a stop to It ?"
"Please do. He will obey and listen to you. He wouldn't If I were the one to do It."
Suddenly you start hearing a child crying and screaming on the farm and an old man groin in pain. Trystan puts his attention to ruckus happening behind as he sees the old man hit Thorry with the hilt of his blade. Enraged Trystan makes his way to Peter Ackermann.
