The atmosphere in the carriage was finally peaceful. Han was looking out the window and seeing different trees and animals, just curiously observing how this world was different from Earth. The pink-haired siblings were both sleeping leaning against each other and not disturbing Han, but this was all ruined when the carriage suddenly stopped making the siblings wake up.
The girl woke up with drool on her face. “What happened?” she said half-asleep. While the brother woke up and laughed looking at her sister’s face. The sister did not know what was happening and fell asleep again.
Han sighed a sigh of relief seeing the girl going back to sleep because he did not want an amateur girl bothering him.
“Why are you sighing?” questioned Lewis, the brother.
Han immediately covered his mouth regretting what he did. “Oh, it’s because I was just wondering why the carriage suddenly stopped.”
“Let me go ask the driver then, I was also curious as to what was happening outside,” said Lewis opening the door and stepping out.
‘How can he act immediately and go out to talk to that creepy driver,’ thought Han astonished.
Meanwhile, Lewis is outside the carriage. He walked to the front of the carriage to talk to the driver but when he arrived there, he did not see a sign from the driver. He immediately looked around trying to find someone and spotted the driver who was running into the forest. “Oh no, you don’t,” he said as he coated his feet in mana and dashed towards him.
“I have experienced this so many times. I know your scheme, do not you dare try to sell me and my sister to the damn bandits,” Lewis said as he caught up to the driver. He sheathed his sword toward the trembling driver.
The driver rolled up on the ground trembling in fear. “If you were so scared, why did you even try to sell us in the first place,” said Lewis provoking him.
The driver remained silent in response.
“If you don’t open up your mouth right about now then I’m going to slice you,” said Lewis bringing the sword next to his neck.
Feeling the sword on his neck, the driver immediately spoke up. “Viscount Rord ordered me to deal with you and your sister, but I thought it was better to earn some coins by sellin- “. He was cut in between because Lewis sliced his throat as soon as he realized what had happened.
Blood splattered on the ground as a headless corpse fell. The blood on the sword shone, and the blood dripped on the ground as Lewis walked back to the carriage while clenching his jaw in anger.
Arriving before the carriage door, his bloodlust vanished, and a smile appeared on his face. He opened the door, grabbed his sleeping sister, and put it on his shoulder as he stepped out of the carriage.
Han was left speechless when he witnessed this scene.
[Host, it is best If you follow him. It seems like this carriage was abandoned]
Han felt like crying. ‘What did I do to deserve this? Why do problems keep appearing? I just want to get to Siron safely. Ugh, I think I must follow that brat if I do not then how am I supposed to get out of here? If I do not reach it today, then my mission Is going to be in jeopardy'.
“W-wait, a second!” yelled Han.
The duo had only just started walking and they were not that far so Han could reach them in time. Hearing a voice, Lewis looked back to find the hooded guy behind him.
In a few seconds, Han reached Lewis and said, “Can I tag along with you? I do not know the way to Siron City.”
“Ah, I forgot about you…and sure since it was somehow my fault, we were abandoned by the driver but how am I supposed to trust you?” asked Lewis, his usual smile had vanished, and bloodlust was aimed toward Han.
Han was about to suffocate feeling the bloodlust. He fell to the ground and his hood slid off his head. Suddenly the bloodlust also disappeared.
“Who are you? I did not expect you to be so young. I thought you were an old man,” said Lewis with his usual smile.
Han coughed loudly and gasped as his throat felt relieved of the pressure. Wiping the saliva off his face, he said, “I-I am a doctor, I came to Siron City for business.”
“Such a young doctor. You must be a genius then,” said Lewis as he brought his hand in front of Han for a handshake.
Han nodded and shook his hand.
“Then follow me. We are near Siron City. It is only a 3-hour walk”, said Lewis as he starts walking with his sister on his shoulder.
‘Seriously a 3-hour walk. You are about to kill me I am not a marathon runner,’ Han thought as he started following Lewis. ‘But seriously what is this man? A second ago, I was about to die but now he is allowing me to follow him. And how can he even walk when he has a human being on his shoulder.’ The more Han looked at the sister, the more she looked like a blanket on Lewis’s shoulder. Realizing this, he struggled to hold in his laughter.
“What is so funny?” said Lewis shutting Han up. He sensed Han’s body language.
“N-nothing I was just remembering something,” said Han while sweating. ‘Let’s not think about anything and follow him or else I’m going to die', he thought shutting his mouth.
[Host, I agree with your decision because, at your current level, he is a dangerous opponent for you].
‘Thanks for the assurance, Sophie,’ thought Han as he teared up.
“How is it like being a doctor? I hear they are stuck up,” said Lewis.
“Are they? I never really met another doctor,” said Han.
“Why?” asked Lewis curiously.
Lewis was intrigued by Han because he had never met such a young doctor and he did not seem stuck up like those doctors that served his family.
‘Why am I spilling everything? Let us control it but thank God because for these occasions I had produced a background story for myself,’ thought Han calming down.
“I studied medicine ever since I was 1 year old. I never left my home and continued studying and that is why I do not know much about the outside world,” said Han. ‘Perfect story. I am proud of myself.’
“That’s hard I guess but why did you suddenly decide to come out,” asked Lewis.
“My parents died, and I had some business in Siron City, so I came to visit,” said Han smiling. ‘I do admit I’m a person who easily smiles but seriously Sophie do I have to do this?’ he thought reluctantly.
[Affirmative, Host. This Is a survival lesson. You must make the other person think you are clueless and harmless. That way you can gain information as well].
“Then since we have all the time in the world. Let me tell you about the doctors in this world,” said Lewis. ‘Normally I wouldn’t say such things, but he seems like a clueless kid so it’s fine,’ he thought smiling.
‘Sophie, My hero. This information Is going to be helpful,’ thought Han excitedly. He had sparkles in his eyes ready to hear this vital information.
