Ken turned to him. He looked confused, "Um? They seemed like a good person. I wouldn't give anyone my number if they were an ass." He reasoned. Adonael wondered if he should stop right now. If he continued asking or probing for questions, he would become jealous. What if any ill behavior was so unsavory Ken wanted nothing to do with him anymore? He didn't want that, so he walked with him back to the house. "I guess they did." He relented.
Ken stared as he walked. Did Adonael have a problem with Ken getting someone else's number? He sighed briefly, "You're not good at hiding your emotions." He said. Adonael shot his head toward him, "Eh? What do you mean?" Adonael touched his face. What had given it away?
Ken reached over and pressed the crease Adonael had right above his nose, near his furrowed eyebrows. He gave Adonael a grin, "Sheesh...It's not like I'm going to marry them. Elijah seems like the shy type, anyway. They wouldn't text me first." Adonael rubbed the space in between his eyebrows. "I know, but they give me the creeps. they glared at me the whole time." Ken tilted his head, "Did they? I didn't even notice." Elijah had a strong jawline and soft eyes. Ken couldn't imagine them glaring at anything. But Adonael wouldn't lie about something about that. "Weird..." He mumbled. Still, Ken couldn't judge someone like that.
"You know...You didn't exactly give them a welcome greeting either," Adonael flinched at that, "In fact...You ignored them when I introduced you two."
Adonael was quick to jump to his defense. "Now, hold on! I only did that because he was a stranger. Stranger danger, did no one tell you that?" He said as he bumped into him playfully. Ken shook his head, "Of course I do! But it's not...judging someone so quickly like that. What if someone did that to you? That's hurtful."
Adonael could only roll his eyes, "Oh, please. Story of my life." He scoffed. Ken shook his head, "...Like...That pink apron you've been wearing this whole time. So many people have turned their heads, whispering...laughing..." Ken looked away.
Adonael stopped. He grabbed the edges of his coat, pulling it so that his front was in view. "Holy Satan...I'm wearing the pink apron outside." He looked at Ken, mouth agape. Ken had turned away from him instead. He was shaking, presumably holding in his laughter with the way Adonael stopped. Had he only realized now that he was wearing that?
Adonael quickly covered up by zipping and buttoning up his coat, "You...I'm going ahead of you!" He shouted, running toward the house with his snacks.
Ken finally allowed himself to let out a deep laugh. He watched as Adonael ran toward the house that was nearby. He could have sworn that Adonael had the brightest blush across his face when he saw him running. He shook his head. It was fun being on the other side of teasing.
At home, while Ken still had a bad headache, he felt a lot better. The pink apron had been shed along with the coat on the floor at home; Adonael was nowhere to be seen. Ken stuck his head in the kitchen. Nope. He had decided to look through the whole house, never finding Adonael anywhere. He wasn't in his room or bathroom, so he wondered what had happened. The only place he hadn't thought to look was his room. He let out a tired sigh. He probably should have checked there first.
He entered his room, seeing a large bundle under his previously made bedding. He sat on the bed, "Adonael...Get out from under the covers." He heard nothing, just the shuffling of a man too old to be doing this. Before Ken could stand up and rip the blanket off, Adonael peeked from under the cover. "...You don't think I'm sexy and cool anymore."
"You never were," Ken said blankly. That wasn't true, not by a long shot, but again. It was fun teasing the teaser. "See!" Adonael covered up again. Ken did start to feel bad, but the demon deserved it. "Oh, Adonael! I'm just kidding." He said, putting his hand on what he hoped was his shoulder. "I'm kidding, okay? But you tease people a lot. It feels nice to win one. I still think you're handsome, at least?" Adonael opened the blanket so he could look at Ken. He finally sat up, glaring at Ken. "...You knew I was wearing the apron.
"I did," Ken confirmed,
"Why didn't you tell me?" Adonael huffed,
"I felt bad at first, but it was too funny." Ken smiled at him.
Adonael always felt weak whenever Ken would smile at him. Even with a hangover, some creepy guy hitting on him, and Adonael teasing him, Ken was still bright. "Right. Let's say I deserved that. You feel bad now, right?" He asked.
Ken shrugged, "Sort of." Adonael reached in closer, "Okay...So what will you do to make me feel better?" Ken raised a brow. Should I do something to make you feel better?"
"Yes."
Ken shook his head. He wanted to roll his eyes, but he couldn't deny feeling terrible. He wrapped his arms around the sulking demon. When Michael was a kid, every time he was upset, Ken would wrap him in his world's famous hugs. No one knew why, but any time he hugged someone, they would be in a much better mood afterward. He was sure it would work on Adonael.
And did it work? Adonael stared at Ken in shock. Was he hugging him? Willingly? He was! Adonael knew it was supposed to be him being comforted, but Adonael couldn't help but reach over. He wrapped Ken in a tight hug.
Ken gasped as he was hugged back, face to face with a much happier demon. Adonael gave him a big toothy grin, and Ken blushed. This man was too handsome for his good. "Alright! You're feeling better; let me go now." He said as he let go. Adonael shook his head, only hugging him tighter, "Nope! You started it! I can't possibly let you go now."
Ken regrets feeling bad about teasing him. He deserved it 100%
