Trystan put Thorry's granpa Will on wooden chair. He looked over his body and disarmed him. Trystan started concentrating on a prayer. He is trying to cast a spell that could find out If he is in anyway influenced by magic. Several beams of golden colour come sprouting out of his body engulfing Will. He doesn't detect any other presence which irritates him so much that he puts on an angry grimace.
"Why did you do It?" Trystan asks him. "Do what?" He almost slaps him but he can restrain himself.
"Why did you try to hit a child? NO worse your granddaughter?"
Will shifts his gaze away from him.
"She needed to be disciplined. Talking about things she won't or will ever understand and then the brat got in the way and took the slap." Will starts to smile a bit but he soon returns to his usual mean demeanor.
" I know you aren't like this Captain Will. You were always praised by your colleagues and the families that you guarded in Silverstedt and the surrounding villages. I can't imagine you being like this to your own family. There must be a reason why you did It. Tell me. Why are you pushing for the boy to go with you?"
He is narrowing his eyes from the questions that Trystan asks him. He doesn't answer immediately. As If he was trying to fabricate some lie. Before he opens his mouth, Peter comes out from the homestead which delays his answer even further.
"I need to uphold the promise to the Adler family. Thats why I did It. I just need him to fullfil my promise. They weren't all that please when my son went to Tyrael city instead." His eyes are going back forth the persons standing before him. Yet he never looks at their eyes when he talks with them. Trystan rubs his scaly chin before saying.
" I don't believe you. Why are you pushing for this. The Adler family aren't that cruel to just demand to remove an eight years old boy from their family. Your son was 13 when he left which was accepted by the family head. I know they are not involved at all. Tell me the truth. Who is threatening you?"
Will starts to sweat profusely. He keeps trying to find out a way to leave, to flee. His throat keeps getting drier and his breath gets noticeably short. Trystan keeps reassuring that he is save with him. Getting the courage he needs from Trystan's presence alone. It was like he was hugged by his mother and he had no worries anymore. Will took a big breath before
"Half a year ago I got visited by a cloaked man or woman. I couldn't tell by the figure or voice. It was disguised through magic. They told me that I should prepare fewer patrols around the Silvertree area and that I should the first son of my son Peter to the Adler family. They prepared a big bag gold coins. Of course I refused. Which soon after they did leave and I tried to arrest them with my guards. It played in into their plan because the anticipated that I would try to do my job. They slaughtered 12 guards of mine in a split second with a weird shadow creature that sprung out of the guys shadow .After that they captured me. These people told me how I should now act from now on and they branded me with a spell that they said couldn't be detected by normal means." Slowly tears fall out of the old mans face.
"I've started to become more vindictive over this time. Punishments got more severe for prisoners. I couldn't control my body sometimes." He points to his back. Trystan undresses Will and looks at his back. His back is burned with runes written in black ink. In the middle of It is a big gryphon that is being devoured by a snake.
Trystan slowly takes his finger and moves it along the runes. He presses his sharpened talon into one of the runes to break It. Slowly gushing out of the wound is a black liquid. Which forms a puddle on the ground. Smoke is going up in the air and hissing sounds are coming from where the liquid landed. Will starts screaming loudly in pain but he is soon muffled with a cloth from his son. Trystan looks worried over at Peter.
"I can't break that here. I will need the assistance of Verbina's higher priests. I will take him with me to Tyrael City. You also cannot stay here. They whoever they are know who you are and when they find out we took your father Will with us then they will most likely go to you next. Also I will take the boy Thorry with me. I think they want to use this boy with his connection to the Adler family and make It so that this what happened here, Is thought to be the handwork of the Adler family."
Peter has very troubled face on him.
" I understand. Though I must tell you. I know my son. He will not want to leave us." Thats when Will starts to speak again.
" Use me as a scapegoat. Tell him my decision was for him to go to Tyrael City and that is still the plan. He will cry a lot but in the end he will only curse me." They all don't look satisfied at all with their decision but It needs to be done. For the safety of their family and the chance to find the ones responsible. Trystan turns to Peter.
"I ask for your permission to personally train Thorry. I want him to go through the selection. He got bravery and heart. He would make a fine templeknight in Tyrael City."
