A huge burst of aura took place.

Both the origin entities who were about to kill Madrona got stuck in mid-air. Their weapons turned into smithereens. Madrona's aura now became dark and white. The darkening flames were wrapped around the white flames. 

[Guess, those are the darkened light flames.]

"!!!!", a past life event rang inside my head.

[Wait a minute.] When I was a scientist in my first life, I learnt about Newton disk. When the colours of rainbow are set in a disk with equal proportion, they would display a white plane when the disc is rotated fastly. That means right now Madrona is circulating all the seven darkening flames rapidly inside him while keeping them in harmony.]

What scared me was the technique Madrona used for suppressing the origin of light and aftermath. It was different from the sovereignties I observed until now.

---splat---

Both origin of light and origin of aftermath vomited blood and the lord of the afterlife began to question.

"Huaak... What kind of sovereignty is this?"

Madrona stepped forward, looking down on both of the origin entities who collapsed while vomiting blood. The previous scenario got reversed. The origin of light and aftermath were on their knees this time. Madrona opened his mouth.

"While you two were busy strategizing, I was developing my own strategy by creating a technique that would crush your morale!"

[Wait, he developed a new technique whilst preparing for a battle.]

The origin of light began to speak.

"Sovereignties can only clash with each other. There is no way that one sovereignty could trample on another. How did you do it?!"

Madrona began to laugh.

"Hahaha... You are right. But, I never said that this is an ordinary sovereignty!!"

The two entities who were on their knees became curious. Madrona continued.

"This is supreme sovereignty... A technique that would crush other sovereignties!!"

"!!!!"

The origin of light and aftermath gaped their mouths in shock, including myself.

[The origin of dark came up with this kind of domineering ace up his sleeves? I must treat him with utmost respect if I am about to inherit such power.]

Madrona began to talk.

"Origin of light, Grey Martha!"

"!!!!", I flinched.

[Dray Madrona and Grey Martha. Both the names sound similar in a way.]

Madrona looked down on origin of aftermath.

"Origin of aftermath, Kriassilis!"

The lord of afterlife's name sounded funny. But, I focused on the ongoing crisis. Madrona continued to speak.

"Both of you are nothing more than specks of debris.

Origin of light, you were always against me just because we both are beings of opposing nature. You tried to reign supreme in the entirety of existence. For someone who held the authority on the living, you sure were greedy. Remember this, if there is no dark, there is no light. The moment I die would be the moment you would turn into the dark only to experience the Abyss!"

He looked at Kriassilis.

"Origin of aftermath, for a person who is a curse rather than a power, you sure are smart. I almost died thanks to you. But, have you ever wondered what would happen to you if you killed me?"

Kriassilis remained silent and fatigued. Madrona elaborated.

"The dark nature which you have grasped from me would have gone berserk. The people who were dwelling in the afterlife would have turned crazy and could have killed themselves!"

"!!!!"

The lord of the afterlife, Kriassilis opened his eyes wide in shock.

Madrona continued.

"Heed my words, we three are the balancing forces of the entirety of existence. Even the death of one of us could break that this balance!"

Origin of light, Martha opened her mouth.

"If you knew this from the start, you should have stayed on the sidelines instead of involving yourself who had no true authority over the living or the dead!"

Madrona corrected her.

"Yes, you are correct. But, you are also wrong... I may not have the authority on the living or the dead like you two. But... "I HAVE THE AUTHORITY ON BALANCE' and that's what gives me a fake authority on the living and the dead!"

"...!", Martha and Kriassilis were spellbound.

"The true purpose of the power of dark is to keep everything in check so that there won't be any errors in the flow of existence. I only involved myself when you tried to create an imbalance!" Madrona ended his elaboration.

Martha and Kriassilis slowly collapsed after his elaboration. Madrona opened a black and white rift. He then exited through it.

The mind illusion came to a halt and I was back in the room sitting on the black chair. The info was too much for me to take in. It took me some time to digest everything and clear my mind.

"Phew... So that was how everything began?

The balance between authorities and powers?"

With a slight smile, Madrona attempted, "Not bad, young lad, with a single glance you realised most of it!"

The clause 'most of it' gave me the chance to question a doubt that occurred in my mind.

"The sovereignty beheld by Kriassilis was weird. In the flashback, you called him a curse. I did not get that part!"

Madrona began to speak while sighing.

"Look at you... Beginning to address the origin entities by their names!"

...

"I am sorry!"

Madrona didn't bother at my apology and continued.

"Do you remember Kriassilis being formed by the resentment of the dead souls?"

I replied, "yes!"

"In a way, resentment can be considered a curse rather than a power.

Unlike powers, curses cannot evolve or develop. They need to be developed. Therefore, Kriassilis always experimented in the afterlife by using people whose karma indicated a completely dark red aura.

In that way, he developed his own sovereignty that involved spells, runes and summoning techniques by working for almost ten million years!"

I was rather impressed by Kriassilis despite him using people of his own realm for experiments. In a way, he reminded me of myself who reached the top through hardwork and not talent. It made me chuckle.

"Impressed, ain't you?" Madrona attempted.

I replied, "You are not wrong, Mr Madrona!"

But I got curious all of a sudden.

"But, what was the dark red aura that you spoke of earlier?"

"As you know, Kriassilis had the authority over the dead. With his authority, he was able to view the karma of every individual in the afterlife.

On one side of an individual indicated the amount of evil deeds via a dark red aura and the other indicated the amount of good deeds via a light blue aura.

But, when a person's karma is dark red on both sides, it means they are rotten down to the core and would be tortured for eternity. People with light blue aura on both sides would end up being loyal subordinates of Kriassilis and their souls would never vanish!"

I interpreted, "Oh... is that so? Then there was nothing wrong in Kriassilis using such bastards like guinea pigs!"

My doubts were all cleared.

[Wait... Doubt? I forgot the most important thing.]

"Umm... Excuse me, Mr Madrona?"

"What is it, young lad?", asked Madrona.

I attempted, "You have shown me and elaborated everything about the origin entities. But, you still didn't tell me what is a 'grand law'!"

Madrona interpreted, "In order to know that, you were to first know what you have seen until now!"

[So... Grand law is something related to that huge-scale battle? Earlier, Madrona mentioned my rising above as a grand law. Does that mean I am somehow related to this?]

Madrona replied, "You can not be wrong about that?"

I faltered with the sudden reply. He was able to tell what was in my mind. I asked again.

"Are you telling me that I am an important key role in this mess?"

Madrona exclaimed, "Yes!!"
