Van slept late and woke up sore the ache in his side was starting to become unbearable that he had to leave his room. He walked out to the bathroom and smelled something nice for breakfast or was it lunch now? He closed the door and locked it. He looked towards the wall mirror and slowly removed the shirt he slept in and looked at the bandage partly soaked from the blood. There was no way that he can shower with this wound, he washed himself up as well as he could replacing the bandage and putting on a new shirt and pants. He then went to the medicine cabinet and took some painkillers and walked out feeling a bit better.“Afternoon, you missed breakfast.”“Fan Cake! Fan Cake!”“Aw, I missed a lot of things.,” he said and wondered if Sen was feeling alright. He looks uneasy and the side stare was starting to bother him like the guy didn’t trust him. He sat down at the counter, not trusting himself to sit on the couch. This caused Sen the frown slightly and he got the sense that Sen was getting suspicious of something.“You got back late,” Sen said and Van could feel that Sen wanted to talk about something but was avoiding it.“You haven’t left the house in a bit, have you?” Van countered and this caused Sen to look surprised and afraid.“I’m still getting used to the place,” Sen said and slid closer to his daughter. Van recognized it as the man was afraid for his and his daughters' life. What could he be afraid of? Is he still getting used to him? Is that what he meant?“Have you thought about where to send Ari for her schooling?” Van decided to change the subject since the house was making him feel uneasy.“Uh, no. I was thinking of sending her back to Daycare -in a few- next week?”“I see, I was wondering if you would give- never mind. If that’s what you and Ari want,” he said and saw the man relax a bit.“Day! Day!” Ari said happily, “Come with?”“Me?” Van asked confused. Surely Sen wouldn’t agree to him tagging along it wouldn’t fit him to be among tiny people.“Ya! Ya!” Sen held her closer Van got the feeling that the man was uneasy about him tagging along.“I’m not sure, I’ll be working. It would be best if you two went,” he saw Ari droop and mumbled a ‘kay’. Sen relaxed but was still uneasy, what caused this? Why was this man on edge? “Have you moved all the boxes?”“Not all,” Sen quickly said and was tense all over again.“Do you need help with moving a few?” Van asked and then looked to the end of the hall to Sen’s room. Surely there couldn't be that many boxes, were they heavy? Can he not reach some of them?“Nope! I have it under control!” the loud voice startled him and made him wince from the sudden movement.“Ah, ok. Just let me know if you do need help then,” Van got up and started to head to the first floor.  He’s still not sure why Sen was acting like that but it probably had something to do with last night. ‘Did he see my wound?’ he thought and sat in the Man Cave and stared at the large screen TV. He turned it on and listened to some shows while he rested and looked over his injury to make sure it didn’t reopen. He stared at the low ceiling and wondered why it was like that. He sat up and started to explore this house/room and noticed it was a landing/loft area. He walked up and saw a few low couches and small tables. It was almost like a tree house with its small rails and magazines and books here and there. He went back down and poked around his pool table, he remembered this was a favourite spot with the guys when some sports was on. They had taken turns hosting a party for such events he figured that someone else took his spot as host. He sat down on the couch again and looked at what was playing, it was some fantasy movie, and figured it was good enough to start it over again to watch it properly. He finished the movie and figured it was time he went back upstairs, he looked around and it was empty. There was no one on the top floor and he didn’t remember if anyone came down to go to the garden. He didn’t hear anyone in the garden when he passed. ‘I guess I should get used to this again, it’s about time he broke the contract. After all he’s only doing this for his daughter, he turned and went to his room to rest a bit more when suddenly the front door slammed open and a crying Ari and yelling Sen was heard. He quickly rushed to the stairs and looked down, Tomorrow pushed Sen in holding Ari and a bag. “Sorry, Boss just us.”“What happened?” Van asked confused and worried, was Ari sick? Did Sen hurt himself? Was Ari hurt?“He went to the police and tried to file a report against you.”“Ah, that’s fine but did you have to force him back? I mean he could have had someplace else to go to,” Sen stared up at him shocked.“You cleaned up didn’t you! Moved the body?” Sen shouted.“What? What body?” Van was now thoroughly confused, what was this about?“The locked door in that room! Behind all the boxes!”“What are you, you mean the bathroom in the master bedroom? Wait hold on, come up here and talk to me you’ve been acting squirrelly since last night. What happened?” Sen walked up and Van moved out of the way giving him plenty of room to get by, Tomorrow followed with Ari in his arms.“There’s a locked room in that bedroom, is that where you keep the people you hire? Am I next? Is that why the contract favours me?” Sen said standing with a glare by the kitchen counter.“That’s just a bathroom. It’s only me here and that room reminds me of the past when my Girlfriend stayed with me before she moved. Since I wasn’t using it I figured that moving the boxes and dresser there wouldn’t do much harm.” Van said.“You’re telling the truth?” Sen asked not buying it.“You believe I can lie?” Van asked more confused now than ever. He looked at Tony and wondered if he cleared up a few things but figured that he waited for him to do it. For the life of him, he couldn’t think of a lie he could try to convince Sen.“Would you ever hurt Ari?” Sen asked. This surprised him, why would he dare harm, Ari?“No! How can you think that? I know I don’t look at all that friendly but hurting children?” Van felt like he could cry, Sen relaxed at seeing his reaction and thought. Van waited for another question ready to try to defend himself again when suddenly a knock was heard at his front door. He went down to check who it was and found that red and blue lights were flashing. He opened the door wide and was then questioned by the officers standing there. He glanced up at Sen seeing a mean look, he then gave his keys to the officer and gave him full permission to look through his house and open any locked door he finds. He said he’d wait outside, Tony followed after him while Sen and Ari followed the officer around his house.“What are you thinking, Boss?” Tony asked as they stood by a cruiser together.“He has enough to get his life back in order, so maybe have him end the contract and be done with it. If he doesn’t trust me then there’s no point in forcing him to stay, is there?”“Understood, all I ask is don’t go back to the person you used to be before you met him.”“It might be worse,” Van mumbled realizing that he won’t be able to remember his mom's cooking anymore, he started to feel bitter. He looked up and saw the officer walk out and hand him back his keys.“We found nothing unusual, sorry to bother you, Sir.” Van and Tony wished the man goodnight and walked back into the house where Sen sat on the couch staring at nothing while Ari played with one of her toys in front of him.“If you still want to leave you can,” Van said emotionally exhausted, “Tomorrow will drive you where ever you want to go, goodnight.”“Goodnight, Boss,” Tony said and Van tossed his keys on the kitchen counter and retreated to his room. He laid down on his uninjured side on the bed and stared at the wall, recalling the whole conversation and finally letting himself feel them.He woke up emotionally detached after crying himself to sleep, he got up and went through his routine not even bothering to check if anyone was home, knowing full well that he was alone in the house once more. He showered sent the e-mail and walked to the kitchen to get his keys, only to find a plate of food there instead. ---“Good morning, today’s breakfast is,” Sen stopped talking after seeing him walk past to get his keys and leave down the stairs. ‘I know I fucked up, I’m sorry!’ he thought looking at the eggs and hashbrowns with toast. ‘I’ll give it to him for his lunch, he’s probably still steamed about last night. Urg, I should have just talked to him! I’m such an idiot.’ he put the breakfast in the fridge and sat down on the couch. Sighing he relaxed a bit before figuring out what he should make for lunch.“Was he mad?” he ask the strong looking man that Van left behind.“It’s understandable why he’s angry, isn’t it? Being accused of something he didn’t do for no reason other than a locked door? Never thought that the women’s clothes in the boxes were there and that he used to live with her? That room probably has a lot of memories he doesn’t want to remember right now because she’s not here but in Paris. Have you ever asked about his life? Have you told him about yours? You two live together right now and yet you don’t know one thing about him? Why he is the way he is?”“Do you think he’ll forgive me?”“By what? Apologizing? Saying that you were in the wrong and would never do it again? He’s heard it all before. I’ll tell you one thing, the guy relies more on actions and behaviour. If you want him to trust you then make it known to him that he can. Not by saying it but by doing it.” The man said then muttered, “Too many people he cared about fucked him over just because they said a few pretty words.”It was very clear that these people cared an awful lot about him, enough to get mad in his place. Who was Van to them? Their employer or best friend? He got up and started to work on lunch, it felt lonely in the house now even if Ari was there. It felt as if Van completely removed himself from the place, he could actually feel the coldness in that house and wondered if Van felt this as well. Or if he always felt the cold, now that he noticed it it was cold when he first arrived in the house but lately before the accusation, it’s been warm.He hoped that it would go back to the warmth soon, “I’m sorry,” he mumbled as he finished the lunch box.---Van worked as much as he could but the feeling of an empty stomach was getting to him, especially when the kitchen was smelling so good. Shaking his head he knew that he had to get used to not eating every day, he figured that’s what Sen was preparing him for. Of course it was, no lunch, no dinner, no breakfast, actually no food at all yesterday. Now he’s making breakfast? Is this his tactic? Using food? Just like her?“Sir!” jolting from his rampaging thoughts Greenbell stood by and placed the food before him. “Eat,” she instructed strictly. He stared at the box for a moment then pushed it away, if he was going to use food against him he may as well fight back.---She stared at him for a few moments and then saw him start to breathe quickly, she decided to break those thoughts apart quickly. “Sir!” she placed the box before him and gave him a simple order that was easy for him to follow. He pushed the silly box away and started working again. She figured that something happened yesterday and sighed. She opened one of the compartments set it between his arms and leaned him back a bit and force fed him the food that Sen had prepared for him. He didn’t fight her off too much and accepted the food easily but then he started crying then started eating like he never had anything until just then. “What did he do to you,” Greenbell growled and decided that getting answers was the best thing for her boss. She waited for him to finish the food before packing it up and leaving to head back to his house to have a talk with the so-called chef. She walked in and saw him pacing in the kitchen, he looked worried enough.“Spill Cook,” Greenbell snapped slamming the box on the counter.“I-I called the cops on him last night because I thought he was a murderer kidnapper person...” she narrowed her gaze at him and wondered what was wrong with him. She clearly answered his questions the last time they talked. Did he not talk to him? How stupid.“You idiot, how dare you! You can’t just treat my boss like that! Your lucky to be staying here! Your lucky that your daughter has a place to sleep tonight! Your lucky to have food in the fridge! A roof over your fucking head! I thought you were a good person, someone that my boss can rely on to feed him without worrying about who would poison him! Am I wrong to trust you with his food? Are you going to use Food against him as his own mother did? Are you going to lock him up like his Ex-Girlfriend? Are you going to order people to kidnap him as his mother did? Are you trying to manipulate him like his Ex? That boy has been through hell and back more times than she can count, which makes him more qualified for him to run Hell’s Gates and to be its Keeper. He does more for Crison than just run a few businesses, he protects the place with his own life. HE COULD DIE TOMORROW!”“I’m sorry.”“SORRY? Why wait until tomorrow? Why not let him die tonight? You’ll be rich anyways, you’ll have your own house, a car all of his things. You’re no better than a Gold Digger, no wonder he’d let you go so easily, clearly he sees better than me and he’s never even read your file. He knows nothing about you, I should have known that the fucking money would go to your head. Trash.” Greenbell didn’t want to hear anymore and left soon after.

Gonna stop using lyrics to describe chapter titles. It was too much of a headache trying to figure out which ones fit.
