"Shit! Don't you fucking dare die on me! You heard me?!" I yelled and quickly checked Peter's pulse. It was weak but stable.
I took a deep breath and tried cleared my mind.
Now is not the time to freak out. Concentrated on making sure he doesn't bleed out. I reminded myself and tried to remember what I had to do in a situation like this.

Luckily I had watched the nurses enough times, when they helped a patient that had hurt themselves, to know how to treat a heavily bleeding wound. First I scooted over to his leg and carefully pulled away his torn jeans to assess how bad it really was.

"Shit!"

There was a long cut surrounded by a bunch of puncture wounds on his lower leg. The smaller injuries weren't bleeding too badly but the large cut was pretty deep and bleeding quite profusely.

Quickly I took off my cardigan and pressed it against the deep wound, in an attempt to slow down the bleeding for now. When I applied the pressure Peter let out a pained groan but otherwise stayed still.
"Okay now I got to..." I mumbled to myself and looked around in the darkened basement for anything that could be used as a improvised tourniquet. It was a little bit hard to see anything but with the fabric beneath my hands becoming more and more soaked in warm, red liquid by the second, I knew time wasn't really on my side.

Next to me I noticed the screwdriver that I had used to stab the big cat. "That works but I also need a..." I whispered and looked for any type of cloth or rope, that I could use as a bandage. To my luck I spotted something that looked like an old scarf, just a few feet away. Quickly I rushed over, grabbed it and returned back to Peter's side.
I tightly wrapped the fabric around his thigh, just above the knee, made a sling and grabbed the screwdriver. With that I tightened the makeshift tourniquet.

When everything was in place I slowly took my hands away, worried if it would stay in place, but to my relive it did. I took another look at the wound and breathed a sigh of relief when I saw the bleeding had become way less.

"Great now I got to get you out of here." I said to the unconscious blond and stood up. With my adrenaline level slowly sinking, I realized how exhausted my body actually was. Even though everything hurt I still forced myself to walk over to the basement hatched.
As I thought it wasn't locked. Quietly, in order not to wake anybody upstairs, I opened the shutters and breathed in the fresh air. It was still the middle of the night, just like when we had traveled to the future. I looked back and saw that Peter was still unconscious.

Great now comes the hard part. I thought and went back to him. At first I tried to grab him around the waist but I didn't even manage to wrap my arms completely around him, then I tried to pull him by the arms but he was just way to heavy for me. That's what you get for being so short and never working out. I blamed myself and sat down in defeat.

"Hey wake up. I can't carry you like this." I said to the taller man and patted his cheek but he didn't react at all. With no real other option left I took Peter's phone from his pocket and was about to dial the emergency number when it suddenly rang.
Confused I looked down at the screen and read the callers name.
Babe? Who the.... BABE!

Quickly I unlocked the screen, smearing blood all over it's display in the process, and held it up against my ear. "PRESTON! I need your help! There was this cat and it got in and then-"

"Wow slow down, man. Are you okay?"

"Yes! No! I don't know! Look Peter is badly hurt but I can't get him up those fucking stairs all by myself and... Please just come here!" I hecticly explained but was only meet by silence. I was about to repeat myself when he suddenly spoke up. "Where. Are. You?" The cold, demanding tone of his voice send shivers down my spine. I was so distracted by his unusual demeanor that I didn't even noticed how long I had stayed quiet until he suddenly screamed at me over the phone, "WHERE THE FUCK ARE YOU?!"

Paniked I tried to remember if I had seen any road signs or significant landmarks on or way here but all I remembered was the desolate wasteland.
"I DON'T KNOW!" I yelled back, while trying to hold back my tears.

I was about to given up all hope when I remembered something Eddy had shown me, when I had asked him to teach me how a smart phone worked. "Wait I can send you our location! Give me a second." Quickly I tipped on the screen with my blood stained fingers. It took a few tries but then I had managed to send a screen shot of our location to Preston.

"Okay, I'm not far away. Sit tight and keep an eye on Peter." He said and before I could plead with him to hurry he had already hung up.

On my knees I crawled over and took Peter's head in my lap. If it hadn't been for his skin that was as white as chalk and the blood splatters, you could have almost thought he was just peacefully sleeping.
"It's going to be alright." I whispered to him and brushed my blood stained fingers through his long, blond hair.

A few minutes passed when suddenly I heard a car engine break through the silence of the night. Carefully I walked up the few steps to the celler hatched and peeked out. A wave of relief washed over me when I saw the old pickup truck parked on the side of the road next to the house.

Quickly I signaled him with the phone where we were. In the blink of an eye he had hoped out off the car and rushed over to me. I tried to explain what had happened but he just brushed me off and went straight to his partner. For a brief moment he looked down at the still unconscious Peter, concern written all over his face. Then he picked him up the bridal style and walked back over where I was standing.

"We need to get him to a hospital." I reminded him when he walked past me with Peter in his arms.
But to my utter surprise he gave me a death glare and simply said, "No!"
Baffled I starred at him while he made his way up the concrete stairs and out of the basement. When he was no longer in sight I finally managed to snap out off it. As fast as my tired legs could carry me I rushed after him.

He had already reached the car and was in the process of putting Preston on the passenger seat, when I managed to catch up with him. When I saw that he was him struggling a bit to get the blond into the car without bumping his injured leg against anything I quickly sprung into action and helped him. Once Preston was seated and we had made sure to put his leg up on the dashboard, so the blood flow wouldn't cause problems I tried again.

"We really should bring him to a -" I demanded but he cut me right off. "Listen, we already risked a lot when we smuggled ourselves into that asylum to get you. We can't risk something like that a second time!" He practically yelled but then sighed and continued with in a slightly more calm but still very firm tone, "Peter and me don't really have the cleanest record so going to a hospital is definitely a no go. At least not unless you want us to end up behind bars."

Hearing that Peter was in trouble with the authorities wasn't really surprising, mostly because all his tattoos but that Preston was also a criminal was very surprising to me. I really wouldn't have taken him for someone who could do any harm to anybody.

The entire drive back to the motel I pondered over what they might had done to end up at the wrong side of the law and what had even led them to do it. Sure I could have just asked Preston but considering hoe he stressed and ready to explore he seemed to be, I decided against it.

Once we reached our destination Preston carried Peter up to our room, while I rushed to the front desk to ask for an first aid kit. The guy sitting behind the desk was more invested in his tv show, then why I needed a the stuff. So he just reminded me that if there was any mess we would have to pay extra when checking out, then he handed me a small red bag with the cross on it.
I grabbed it and hurried to the room where the dark-haired had already put Peter on one of the beds, with his injured leg proped up by some cushions.

With the proper supplies in hand I got straight to work on stuffing the wound, bandaging it and put a real tourniquet around his thigh, all while Preston nervously walked back and forth behind me.

"I could call Eddy, the guy from the asylum." I said once I had finished making sure Peter's life was no longer in danger. When I looked over my shoulder and saw the brown eyed man's skeptical gaze I added, "He is just a nurse, but considering our circumstances I think he is our best option."
Preston tilted his head in consideration and then asked if I really trusted him.

Honestly I didn't even have to think about it, because over the years I had been locked up the big guy had basically become like an older brother to me, who I knew I could trust with everything. "Yes, I would even trust him with my own life."

"Alright, then call him." Preston said and handed me Peter's phone.

I had always thought that it had been stupid that Eddy had made me memories his number but now I was really glad he did. His words still rang in my ears when I dialed his number.
If you ever get out off here and are in trouble don't hesitate to call me.

While waiting for him to pick up I got off the bed and walked over to the bathroom to clean myself up at least a little bit. Once he answered his phone and I told him it was me, he immediately started to bombard me with all sorts of questions.
I answered them as well as I could, while also trying to leave out some stuff so I wouldn't sound like I completely lost my mind.

"Listen Eddy, wish I had more time to explain everything in detail but right now I just need you to come to my location and to help me with something." I explained while washing the blood off my hands and face.
He stayed quiet for a moment but then agreed to come. I told him the motels name, the room number and asked him to bring some medical supplies. Once I had hung up I quickly took a shower and put on Peter's large white tshirt, that he had discarded on the bathroom floor. It was way too big for me and also wasn't really clean but it was still miles better then the blood stained floral dress.

"He said he would be here in around an hour." I announced when I came out off the steamy bathroom and sat down on the unoccupied bed. For a few minutes I just keeped watching Preston stroke Peter's long blond hair, kiss his forehead and wisper to him words of encouragement.
They love each other so much. I thought and tried to swallow the clump that was forming in my throat. Seeing them like that made feel so guilty for having actually liked it when Peter had kissed me. I should tell him. It's the right thing to do... even if he will probably hate me.

"Preston, I got to tell you something."

"Sure buddy, what's up?"

"Peter and me.... we kissed."

What do you think, will Felix regret telling it Preston?

Also I will post a new chapter once a month (probably around the beginning of each month).
