Shooting Star Entertainment - 2nd Part

Chapter 22

Chapter 22

Jan 18, 2023

Since he came back from Kyoto, Yongrae kept having nightmares. He had every night the same dream, a boy walking with chains on his arms, legs, and neck. Where the chains and the skin touched, his skin was wounded and blood came out. Behind the boy was the girl connected to him by the same chain that followed him. Her ankles and wrists were bleeding too. Both of them were wandering in a dark alley until the boy would fall into a pit and the girl would be pulled into the same pit by the boy’s weight. At this part of the nightmare, Yongrae would wake up covered in sweat and breathing heavily.

“This dream again!”- he thought while trying to calm himself down.

One night he couldn’t go back to sleep and went outside on the window to get some fresh air. The weather was good and the night sky was clear. Strangely that night, a lot of stars were visible. It seemed like the light and air pollution didn’t have an effect that night. Yongrae got out there and looked at the sky surprised. He rarely had the chance to see the night sky this clear and with a lot of stars in it. Suddenly he saw a shooting star and immediately closed his eyes and got his hands together in a prayer position.

“Shooting star please help me!”- said Yongrae to himself, “Give me the courage to stop this before it is too late!”

That night went by and then a lot of days passed as well. The wedding day was getting closer.

“Let’s go Yongrae, we will be late for the appointment with the tailor!”- shouted Chuncha from downstairs.

“In a minute mom.”- replied Yongrae from his room.

While waiting for him, Chuncha started writing a wedding invitation by hand. Yongrae was going down the stairs and saw her. He went close by and saw that it was a wedding invitation but he did not see for whom it was meant.

“Mom no one sends wedding invitations by letters anymore!”- said Yongrae, “They get the invitation and the details on their phone nowadays…”

“Oh gosh you scared me!”- said Chuncha while facing Yongrae and covering the letter with her body, “Some people are too old-fashioned you know…”

“Who are you inviting anyway?”- asked Yongrae.

“That’s none of your business!”- replied Chuncha while putting the letter in her bag.

“You are right!”- responded Yongrae ironically, “It’s not like it was my wedding or anything…”

“Let’s go now!”- said Chuncha and they both went out.

They got a taxi and went to the tailor shop to get a suit for Yongrae’s wedding. He got measured and the tailor explained to them all about the suits and customizations available. Chuncha chose for Yongrae and then they left the tailor shop.

On the other hand, Sunjung and her family went to buy the wedding dress. Sunjung took Seojun with her since she wanted as many opinions as possible on the dresses.

“What do you guys think about this one?”- said Sunjung after trying the first dress that she chose.

“That’s too covering…”- said Gyeong.

“It looks good on you!”- said Yujun.

“So...so…”- said Seojun.

Sunjung went back to the changing room and tried another dress.

“What about this?”- asked Sunjung again.

“It’s too revealing!”- said Gyeong.

“It looks good on you!”- said Yujun again.

“So...so…”- said Seojun again.

Sunjung was upset by their comments and went back to try on the last dress that she chose.

“Can you please say it looks good for once today…”- said Yujun to Gyeong annoyed, “We’ve been here for four hours already!”

At that moment Sunjung got out of the changing room and everyone was surprised. She looked like an angel in her last dress.

“Sunjung this dress was meant for you!”- said Yujun, while standing up, excited, “You look like a princess!”

“This is the one Sunjung!”- said Gyeong.

“That’s it Sunjung!”- said Seojun, “This is the right one!”

“Thank you guys!”- replied Sunjung, satisfied, “I love it as well!”

“I think we will buy this dress…”- said Yujun to the person that worked there in the store. Sunjung and her two little twin sisters hugged after they saw her in that dress. Both her younger sisters told her that they wanted to dress one day like her at their weddings.

Chuncha and Yongrae were getting back home in a taxi. During the way back, Chuncha asked the taxi driver to stop the car near the post office for a moment so that she could take a letter there. She left the letter at the post office and then they came back home.

Yongrae and Sunjung kept seeing each other regularly. She was feeling closer and closer to him every day while Yongrae couldn’t bring himself to do something to stop the wedding.

The big day was coming up and one night before the wedding Sunjung called Yongrae late at night. She wanted to talk with him one last time before the wedding to let him know her feelings for him.

“Hello, Sunjung!”- said Yongrae after answering her call.

“Hi, Yongrae!”- replied Sunjung nervously.

“How are you doing?”- asked Yongrae.

“A little nervous but overall fine.”- replied Sunjung, “What about you?”

“I’m nervous too…”- replied Yongrae with a sad tone of voice.

“But I’m also very happy!”- said Sunjun while choking up, “I’m marrying the person I love the most!”

“I…I… love you to Sunjung!”- responded Yongrae while feeling tears coming down his eyes. Those words felt the heaviest to get out for him, but he said them anyway, regardless if he meant them or not.

“Oppa you can cry now but after we get married I make sure you smile every day okay?”- said Sunjung determined while crying too.

“Yes, let me cry one more time, and then let’s smile together!”- responded Yongrae.

After that, they kept crying for a little longer in each other’s company. They didn’t say a word to each other at those moments, but somehow hearing each other cry comforted them, even though they had different reasons for it.

“Goodnight Oppa, I hope you have beautiful dreams tonight!”- said Sunjung, “I can wait to see you!”

“Goodnight Sunjung!”- replied Yongrae and ended the call.
