Warning: Mentions of body dysmorphia, negative body image, bigotry, and death

"You've not let me see you shirtless for a while." She eyed him, "Were you trying to see me?" Thomas asked adjusting his shirt. "No, but, I'm concerned is everything okay?" She asked walking into the bathroom Thomas was in. Thomas pursed his lips and then sighed.

He lifted his shirt up embarrassed, "I swear I've been working out but I can't seem to lose this." He complained, "It might be my imagination but I'm pretty sure it's getting bigger." He sighed exasperatedly. Harriet looked at his stomach with a neutral expression before her eyes slowly widened. "What?" he asked confused, Harriet then pinched the bridge of her nose and sighed.

"Tommy." Harriet spoke after taking the deepest sigh, "Yeah?" Thomas asked perking up at Harriet's pet name, "You're pregnant." Harriet deadpanned resting her hand on his stomach and looking up at him. Thomas froze, his blood ran cold and his eyes widened. "Harriet I... I swear I didn't do this on purpose!" he blurted out, the last thing he wanted Harriet to think was that he got pregnant on purpose.

"Tommy..." Harriet spoke, "How far along do you think I am do you think we'd have enough time to-!" Thomas was cut off by Harriet, "Thomas!" She raised her voice, Thomas froze and he looked at her. Harriet had a soft smile on her lips. "It's okay." She said grinning gently at him. "It is...?" Thomas asked feeling his eyes fill with tears and his nose twitch.

"Yeah, it's fine. I'm happy." Harriet said, "I'm scared but I'm excited." Harriet placed both hands on his stomach, "I can't wait to meet them." She said smiling. Thomas felt his lips quiver and tears leaked out of his eyes, "We're pregnant." He said grinning stupidly. He grabbed Harriet and pulled her into a hug.

Thomas's pregnancy was a surprisingly easy one. Harriet and he ended their vacation early and they went to a doctor. Despite his difference in body type, his body was handling the pregnancy well. He was put on some supplements and the doctor recommended him stopping coffee for now. Or at the very least limiting it.

Thomas had to get shirts three sizes larger to accommodate his stomach. But he felt happy despite any side effects he was experiencing. When his mother found out, she set up a massive pregnancy shoot which ended up posted all over Harriet and Thomas's social media.

"Make sure you tag those men! My Thomas is an omega!" Cheryl exclaimed, when she found out about how Harriet's fathers had treated Thomas she was furious. She also declared that Harriet was a West now and the Smiths weren't getting her back. Thomas was about his fourth month in when Harriet proposed. "I should make you an honest man," Harriet remarked slipping a ring on his finger one night as they watched television together.

"Harriet, don't you think a proposal should be more romantic?" Thomas complained, "My apologies, let's go to the office." Harriet replied causing Thomas to laugh. All these pleasant things aren't to say Thomas and Harriet didn't experience trouble during the pregnancy. Harriet was overprotective and constantly worried. She hated other alphas being around Thomas, especially whenever her rut hit. She would spend most of the time with Thomas in the nest with her growling every time she even got a whiff of an alpha scent.

When it came time for the baby, Thomas decided to be induced. He didn't want a surprise as Milo had. Everything was neat and orderly until his first contractions. The idea was to have the child naturally. But as much as Thomas tried, he couldn't manage it. He was willing to go longer trying to push until the baby started to have an asynclitic presentation, which meant... The baby was facing the wrong way.

They tried using a drip and Thomas even tried a few exercises he had seen in birthing class but nothing was working. "We're going to have to do a c-section!" One of the nurses spoke up, Thomas looked over at Harriet who went rigid hearing the complications. He breathed heavily and held her hand. She winced and shook her head, "Do what you have to. Just make sure my Thomas and baby are okay." She spoke up taking charge. Thomas leaned back relaxing, he smiled up at Harriet pleased.

"Just worry about the baby Thomas. I'll worry about everything else." Thomas heard Harriet speak before drugs filled his system from an iv. A blue curtain went up and Thomas stared up at Harriet. Harriet leaned down holding his hand with one head and stroking his head with the other. There was a look of concern in her eyes but she smiled at him. "You're doing such a good job." She told him, Thomas was dazed-looking up at her but pleased to hear that.

Harriet kissed his forehead and Thomas closed his eyes. It felt like as soon as he closed them he opened them back up and heard gurgled crying. "It's a boy!" A nurse cried out. "I have a little boy?" Thomas asked looking over at Harriet who looked past the curtain and nodded. "yes Tommy, he's beautiful too." She wiped his head free of sweat.

"We... We have to name him after your grandfather." Thomas spoke, and Harriet smiled, "Harris is a good name." She replied, "What about Harris Memphis West?" She suggested, "I like that." Thomas reached for Harriet and the two of them kissed just as the baby was brought over. Thomas's eyes widened and he laughed. "He's so pink." he chuckled taking the baby and resting it on his chest. Harris sobbed but only seem to calm down once he was on Thomas's chest.

"Hello, Harris," Thomas whispered as Harriet spoke with the nurse and directed her on how to fill out the birth certificate. Blue eyes blearily looked at Thomas before closing. Thomas felt his eyes grow heavy and fell asleep as well. He spent a few weeks in the hospital after that, and Harriet insisted on the extra rest and assistance from the doctors.

By the time they got home, Thomas was rested up pretty well. Though Harriet made him stay on bed rest even after returning. He didn't say anything in argument, his stomach did hurt where they had cut him open, and while he wasn't happy with the scar. He was happy with the result. Seeing a little boy in Harriet's arms with tufts of hair on his head like his mother and a stoic expression... It was worth it.

In the coming months, it became Thomas's favorite thing to sneak in on Harriet checking up on Harris. The alpha woman leaned over the crib always checking for his breathing, her eyes filled with concern and worry. But she was so gentle with him... It honestly made Thomas want another one.

Though when he brought it up with Harriet she glared and said, "Absolutely not." "Why not?!" Thomas pressed, "I don't know how to deal with sibling problems. I was an only child." Harriet replied frankly. Thomas laughed hearing this, "So were you." Harriet added.

He decided to drop the subject... For now at least.

As Harris got older, he was naturally paired up on play dates with Emery. The older girl seemed to tolerate the younger boy well enough. Emery was headstrong but nice to Harris. Though the same could not be said for Harris. "Harris let me go home!" Emery shouted as Harris hugged her holding her in a small circle of blankets. "No!" Harris whined holding tighter.

Avery and Milo stared at the scene exasperated. Thomas and Harriet had stoic expressions. "Now you see why we're a bit at a loss." Thomas spoke up, "I'm hungry I want to go home!" Emery exclaimed, "I'll feed you! Stay here!" Harris insisted, "We're not keeping the neighbor's child." Harriet snapped.

"She's not the neighbor's child she's my wife!" Harris exclaimed argumentatively, Harriet gritted her teeth and got nose-to-nose with the little boy. "Listen here you little shi-." Harriet spat Thomas picked Harriet up and sat her to the side. She and Harris argued more since he could talk. He seemed to just love to get on her nerves. "Harris you're too young to be married. You also need the other person's consent." Thomas spoke, Harris glared and let go. "Fine!" he shouted as Emery stood up and stepped out of the mess.

Harris picked up the blankets and tossed them to the side. "I worked hard for nothing!" He shouted dramatically, before storming off to his room, "We're not letting your mother watch him anymore." Harriet deadpanned just as the door slammed shut.
