I’m on watch and it is now officially christmas eve! Sadly, it seems like we’re gonna spend Christmas in the forest in the middle of nowhere. Good news though, we managed to get some internet connection on Amya’s phone today, bad news, google maps and all other location-related things, as well as text, just wouldn’t work. Ali recognised it as magic interfering with tech “because I do it so often I can recognise it anywhere” is what they said which is pretty cool I think.. On another note my sexuality crisis has continued because WOMEN ARE LIKE GODDESSES and ENBIES ARE LIKE ANGELS but men are ugh. So lesbian? But I'm a boy sometimes? Neptinic? But that’s hard to explain and most people, even people IN the Alphabet mafia won’t know what it is. Aaaagh.. Why is life so complicated, like I'm having a sexuality crisis, on watch while stuck in the woods, with the oldest person being sixteen and IT'S CHRISTMAS EVE. This is probably the weirdest thing that's ever happened to me, and i got a valentines day card when i was eight from the boy who chased me and my friends around, trying to kiss us when we were seven. Also i was transported to a magical world and was adopted by a woman who practises witchcraft and can cook like she’s the goddess of it. Whyyyy? 

Ali just woke up and can’t get back to sleep so we're gonna just chat for a while until they can sleep again. Okay Ali’s asleep so i’m gonna write what we said, leaving some parts out because i don’t want to write out fifteen minutes of conversation so here it is. 

Ali: How are you? Like we’ve been away from home for a couple days now and it seems like we’re gonna miss christmas.

Me: I’m fine, though my life has changed a lot recently I only arrived here like a week ago and then I had just kinda gotten used to living with Sally and then all this happened so-

Ali: i didn’t realise you’d been here for such a short time, you seem like you were born here, like you know everything about this world

Me: Thanks, so what do you want for christmas?

Ali:: I don't know, lockpicks? (they laugh) I really want to make some proper friends. Like, at school I have people that I hang out with but they don’t get me y’know?

Me: yeah, back home it was similar, I had friends, but no-one was like my bestie or like properly knew me.

Ali: Well Alexis and Ebony seem like they really like you and Amya can’t help but befriend everyone she meets and, I’ll be your friend if you want, I've never had a best friend either.

Me: thanks 

Pause in the convo to stare into the fire (did I mention there’s a fire?)

Ali: So what do you want for christmas?

Me: I want a meet cute in a coffee shop, someone to rescue me from the brink of death, someone to take on cute picnic dates, yeah

Ali: That's really cute I guess I want something like that too

We stared into the fire for a bit again and then chatted about fandoms we liked (they hate Fitz Vaker from Keeper of the Lost Cities as much as I do) then talked about the colours we’ve both dyed our hair (me, silver, blue, red and purple which is my current colour. Ali, white, green, rainbow and red, their current colour) and then Ali went to bed, I think I really like them.

Anyway I’ve um gotta tend the fire so-
