‘Is there something the matter sir?’
I looked at my servant. Half troll, half goblin. His tusks stuck out of his mouth like knives and his small stature made it easier for me to intimidate him into doing whatever I pleased.
‘None of these are what I asked for.’ My bright golden eyes bore into his black ones, causing him to shiver. I knew i was making an impact on him. He turned to look back at the girls ; then back at me with a worried expression.
‘Forgive me my prince but, your description was very specific and…’
I interrupted him before he could continue on any longer feeling the anger rise inside me.
‘ I gave you a specific instruction Hain, in hopes that you would carry it out successfully and yet, you failed miserably. This one…’
I moved towards the first girl. Her eyes looked at every inch of my suit and her mouth practically drooled as I lifted a piece of her bright golden hair. ‘ Has short golden hair. I specifically told you I needed long jet black hair. This one…’
I said more sternly this time. Moving on to the next girl gracefully, adjusting her chin down so my servant can look at her eyes, ‘This one has blue eyes. I told you continuously that I needed someone with big hazel eyes. And this one…’
Making my way to the second to last girl, I glared at Hain making him look at the oak floors in shame. ‘ This one’s a bloody fairy Hain. Her eyes are pink, her hair is white and she’s half the size of me with huge wings for gods sake!’
I patted her head while she glared at me and I continued to the last and final girl. My last chance to relax before the big ball. I looked at her. She had dark brown eyes but they were close enough to what I wanted, medium sized jet black hair and she was slightly shorter than me. Close enough to my dream.
‘ Well, at least you’re not a complete failure Hain. I’ll take her for a little while. Make sure mother knows I’ll be there by 5 o’clock.’ I smiled at the girl that looked seemingly excited and I grabbed her hand gently, guiding her to the play room. Behind me, Hain breathed a sigh of relief and responded with a simple ‘understood.’
Let’s hope I have enough time before the ball starts.
