The scream didn't last long and the two body halves from that dude fell to the ground. Trystan doesn't relax for one moment. He just keeps looking around him but why? The guys dead. Wait there's no blood coming out. It's not his body? Looking closer I can see It shimmering. Trystan screams back to Farielle. " It's a Mirror Clone. He's a mage. Damn It! Get the boy out of here Farielle! I miscalculated!" A raspy voice comes from above us. "Ain't It a bit late for that? You know what throw down your weapons and I will let the boy leave with that elf. I am only interested in you Sir Trystan." I can feel his disdain when he utters Trystan's name.
Breathing is getting a bit easier so I take my strength to look up. What I see is a half elf, this time he is wearing a black outfit with red outlines. He's floating in the air. No he's flying and he is pointing his rapier at me. It's covered in lightning again. While I look at him in shock, Trystan responds.
"What's my guarantee that you hold your promise?" The man starts to chuckle. "None but what choice do you have as a paladin of your so called justice." His words still have the same venom as before. Farielle slowly stalks over to me and looks over my body and nods to herself. "I am guessing your fine? Where is It hurting, I presume It's the back again, right?" I nod but I still focus my attention on the conversation going on in the back.
"Okay I will disarm." Trystan to my suprise throws away his shield and sword. "So I am guessing you won't be killing me instantly right? Because I got some questions of my own." Chuckling again the guy responds. " What makes you think that I will talk to you? You moron"
"Just a feeling. So whats the purpose of this? Let me guess, you are one of the guys in Tyrael City that are unhappy because mages are getting suppressed from the clergy." It seems Trystan's word hit home. The half elfs face contorts so much that he resembles an extremely ugly goblin. " So you are trying to start a rebellion to take over the government and start your righteous cause to free all mages wrongly imprisoned? Wait no, your cause isn't righteous It reeks of greed and a sick mind. Your actions will never help mages in any way! YOU ARE THE PRIME REASON WHY THE CLERGY DISTRUSTS MAGES IN THE FIRST PLACE! I AM TRYING TO AMMEND IT BUT GUYS LIKE YOU, SCREW IT UP!" The guy swishes his rapier away from me and points towards Trystan.
" Hahahaha I am greedy? You don't even scratch the surface of what WE have planned for this damnable city!" He shoots his lightning bolt from his rapier and hits Trystan right in the center of his chest. I try to scream out his name but Farielle holds my mouth closed. Trystan's body hits the ground not moving in any noticeable way, Smokes coming from the point where the bolt hit. " Argh damn It. Did that really kill you already?" He looks over to us. "He will be angry with me. Argh sod It. One obstacle removed. You two, now that he is already dead, I don't need to hold any promise to him. So I suggest you start running cuz I like when my prey runs." He readies his rapier again this time casting something different. His movement start to get faster and the outline from his body gets blurry.
Farielle instantly draws her bow and fires a few arrows at him. He easily dodges them and cuts a few arrows down while slowly descending down to us. Farielle soft voice reaches my ear. " Don't worry we will both get out of this easily." She keeps smiling in what for me seems like certain death. Weirdly I don't feel any fear and my body isn't shaking in the slightest. I can't stop looking over at Trystan's body. Somethings wrong but I can't put my finger on It. Thats when I see Trystan's finger suddenly twitch. Relief washes over my body. He suddenly speaks.
"Took you long enough, Durxel."
"I know." In an instant arcane runes appear around the half elf guy. He looks at them scared and tries to break through them, to no avail the runes hold him in an invisible sphere. " SHIT!" He starts incantating something but he suddenly is cut off as another set of golden runes start to surround him. He's still trying to speak but there is nothing coming out but air.
Durxel comes out from behind us. He is heavily sweating and breathing but he smiles at us when he sees us. "You should get that looked at Farielle. Thorry you will be fine after all you survived my fireball. Trystan next time get a better signal. Your firebreath ain't that strong that you hear It everywhere." Trystan slowly sits up. He scratches the back of his head. " I know but that was me improvising. That guy followed us since we were at the farmstead and was probably listening the whole time. Couldn't write too much or else he maybe would have sniffed it out! Noooow what to do with him? Hmmm?"
