This has been a long time coming hasn't it? 

"Where's the updates? It's been ages." To put it simply; the stuff I find interesting to read and write changed dramatically in the last 3-4 years. I still adore my characters and the world I created, but the main plot is something 16 year old, simple ol' fantasy anime loving me would like to read. Now, 22 year old me enjoys different stories based more on the dynamics and depths of characters than an epic prophecy driven plot where teens save the world by going on a big journey and meet allies who will help defeat a great evil. 

"But you started this rewrite in 2021?" I did indeed, my webcomic wasn't working out cuz the story got so big and I realized it'd never be possible to exists as a comic. I had been struggling with reworking the plot of the story back then as well, but since I knew for a fact I wanted this story to be a thing, I kept writing anyway. It never really dawned on me that I slowly started to dislike the main plot and that that was the reason I got so demotivated to work on it.

"Does this mean you're dropping New Magic completely this time?" Yes and no. It's been such a big passion project that I do intent to work the characters and the world I love into a new story. New Magic already has had so many different versions already, from way before it was a webcomic, to all the rewritten versions along the way. It's like there's enough diversity in the same rewritten plot that it could be turned into 4 different stories by now. (which is what I plan to do with my favorite ones anyway)

You'll decide if its worth sticking around for, but since the wait will be long and we're all different people from those years ago, I wouldn't mind at all if people forgot about this whole thing ever being worth someones time.

I've loved working on this story and don't see it as a waste of time, even with the tiny little following the story managed to reel in it was more than worth it.
