“How are you doing, Ryusuke?” The old man asked me with a smile. Then, I stayed conscious and didn’t let my guard down for a moment.
“We've been friends for a long time, so you shouldn't be concerned. We have been friends for five years now. It appears as though your memories have been erased once more, so I suppose you don't remember me.” I wanted to kill the elderly man as he spoke, but my body was not responding to my killer instinct. I had the impression that I was being internally controlled by another person.
“I suppose I have to reintroduce myself to you. Maro Masaru is my name. Yoshida Itsuki and I are associates with each other.” My head started to hurt a lot as I started to get a little frightened when I started to see people in front of me.
“But now I guess it’s finally my time to die, and I’m happy that I’d be killed by you.” While he said this I dashed and pointed my dagger at his neck. I asked him how he knew me, he said it would make me question myself lot if he told me.
“Enlighten me. The next station is twenty minutes after. You have ten minutes. And your time starts now.” I said this while seated and aiming my dagger at Maro.
“Yoshida Itsuki's known next-in-line successor is you. You and Miss Yoshida first met five years ago. With injuries, you were found at her mansion. You sustained severe damage to your left arm and injuries to every part of your body as if you were fighting a war.”
Maro's statements weren't entirely inaccurate. I did recall being severely injured, but it was Alfred, not Yoshida who assisted me.
Maro shared details of my five-year quests with me. Everything he had told me was accurate. However, the change was that I now met him and Yoshida rather than the counselors.
“We also came up with a strategy for your counselors a year ago. However, we failed, and you were taken with them. You were subjected to torture, and your memories were altered and frequently erased in accordance with the counselors' wishes.” Maro’s words made me start to wonder about Marino.
“In the last five years, how many people have been by my side? You just granted yourself additional time. I will cut off your head if you lie.” I threatened to question Maro, but he remained as calm as he could.
“*sigh*Marino was your first individual after miss Yoshida and I. When you were fighting drug dealers, you found him in the United States. Marino turned out to be the supplier, but he wanted to leave. Also, the Dealers were going to kill him because they didn't want a loose end, but you showed up and saved Sir Marino.” Maro said this while checking his surroundings and looking for something.
“But that’s a lie, Marino saved me from gunfire two years ago. I was wounded and he came to save me despite risking his life to save me.” I told Maro aggressively.
"Yes, Sir Marino helped you out when you were hurt. However, he was also the one who initiated the gunfire.” Maro informed me as he aggressively dropped his case.
“Don't try to get Marino involved in bad situations. Otherwise, I'll kill you immediately.” I told Maro, grinning through my teeth.
“I apologize for making offensive remarks about Sir Marino. However, I only stated the truth. When you return to the cave, you can inquire with Sir Marino. Whereas your companions are still standing by your side. Sir Marino, me, Madam Rachel, and Miss Yoshida." I felt something as he mentioned the person's name.
“Who exactly is Madam Rachel?” I asked Maro quickly.
"Madam Rachel is your love. She is the one who has been your partner all of your life. You were brought from the dark to the light by her. How do you not think of the person you've loved all your life?” I began to doubt myself as I listened to Maro talk about her.
"Can you give me more information about this Rachel? I don't understand why, but I feel like I've known her.” As I said, Maro smiled and agreed to tell me everything he knew about Rachel.
So many things Maro told me about Rachel. It could have been a possibility that I knew this person as to how my heart was reacting just by hearing the word, Rachel.
“Ah, I see. I appreciate you telling me everything. However, I still continue to question every story you told me. I regret it, but I must kill you.” I told Maro and he looked at me, with a smile.
"No matter how long we live, this life we have is incomplete. Ever since we were born, we have thought about doing a lot of things, especially spending time with our loved ones. But when we pass away, we always leave something behind. Isn’t that right Ryusuke." Maro told me this by asking me if the stars were beautiful as he looked at them. I respectfully responded that the stars did indeed appear to be too beautiful.
“I apologize, Ryusuke. But right now, I don't think you can kill me. Not in the train with these mercenaries. Should we immediately dispose of them and continue our business afterwards? " I was impressed by Maro's response, despite the fact that I had a sneaking suspicion that there were passengers aboard.
“Let's finish them then. Also, do not die now. Because I will be the one to kill you.”
“Ryusuke, I'd rather worry about you right now.” Maro grabbed his briefcase, pulled out two guns, and threw the bag behind him as he spoke.
He smiled and pointed the guns behind him as he looked at me. Regarding myself, I took the daggers out and looked behind me.
Maro and I were standing back-to-back with each other. The mercenaries then emerged from their seats, as we witnessed. There weren't one, not five, but tons of mercenaries on both sides.
"Well, boys, it appears that we have been exposed. Kill them both!” This was said by a mercenary as he yelled. Additionally, the mercenaries arrived from both sides.
Maro had already started shouting from the other side as five guys dashed toward me. He didn't miss a shot as his aim was precise.
Two young mercenaries jumped from their seats and went to cut me while I was waiting for the other mercenaries to come up to me. As he approached me, I used my dagger to cut one of them. When the other approached from the side, I ducked and slashed his legs.
“Come on, Kill them already. Their only two guys.” As the leader said, the others were screaming about how fast I was slashing them, and the poison was destroying them. And Maro shooting everyone easily.
The train continued at a faster pace than before as the next station was reached. The train almost went off the track when there was a curve, but some of the mercenaries were clever enough to push it to one side so it wouldn't tilt.
Maro inquired if I needed his assistance after he had eliminated nearly all of the mercenaries. I said no with a smile and that I had this. Maro went to where he had piled the bodies and sat on them.
“Enough of this, the rest of you take care of the old man, I’ll take care of this child.” The leader came to me while holding a katana.
“I like your katana. How about I take it when I slash you into two with it.” I told the leader with bloodlust flowing out of me.
The leader took a step back, as I walked toward him with an unmountable bloodlust. I could sense the fear of the people. As I came near the leader, he started to shake and tremble and suddenly aimlessly swung his sword around.
I dodged and dodged until I got tired and saw an opening and struck his neck with the dagger. The leader stopped and felt the poison flow in his body as he started to get numb and fell on his knees.
“I told you, didn’t I? I’m going to take your Katana, and slice you into two pieces with it.” I whispered in the leader’s ear, as I slowly grabbed his katana, and went for the kill.
“What are you?” He asked me with fear in his eyes and forgiveness.
“I’m the Grim Reaper. And you are the soul that I came to snatch.” I told the leader and stabbed him in his heart while sending off a Grinning smile.
The other mercenaries felt the killing intent coming from me and started to fear and stepped back when I walked towards them.
“Why are you all stepping back? Aren’t you going to kill me? COME ON!” As I shouted, I scared most of them and went for the kill but destiny had other plans.
The train started to shake because the train was getting faster and almost derailed from the track.
