"Grandpa locked the door, maybe next chance"
Ken then walked away from here.
In the dining room of this house, Ken and his family, along with his relatives are about to have lunch, at the classic Long wooden dining table, with their chairs lined up. It's a large dining room with several crystal chandeliers on the ceiling, and several high-door windows, with their curtains opened, tied to the right and left. This door window leads out to the balcony, which has a view of a typical Japanese garden and a one-story Japanese classic house. The waiter poured wine into the glasses of each family member here. While waiting for the food to be served, they chatted with each other, so the room was a bit noisy. Ken's grandfather, Makoto, is sitting on the end seat, he has a calm gaze but appears cold. His hair was turning white in a regular pattern and was combed neatly but elegantly. Makoto said
“First of all, I would like to welcome all of you. And thank you for taking your time at this annual event”
Makoto smiled while raising his wine glass
“A toast to all of us”
Everyone here raised their glasses of wine, then they toasted together. While drinking, Ken steals glances at his grandfather. The maids entered the room while carrying the food in the food cart they were pushing, then served the food to each family member. While waiting for the food to be served, Ken's father whose full name is Kawago Takeru stood up from his seat
"As you know, this honor ceremony is very important, in the sense of establishing the kinship of our extended family. The Takeru family has been carrying on this culture from generation to generation, since decades ago. This would not have been possible were it not for the people who were willing to be the administrator of this honoring ceremony”
Ken's father, as well as the people here then gave a round of applause aimed at Makoto and his brothers and sisters who were the administrators of the kinship and honor ceremony. Makoto gave a thank-you gesture by raising his wine glass to Kawago, Ken's father. After the dishes were served, they all started their lunch activities.
After lunch, they regularly walked out of the dining room, talking to each other, including Ken and his family. Ken walked out of the dining room, behind his family. Ken stopped his steps
"I want to go to the library first, okay?"
Ken's father and mother, as well as Shitara, stopped their steps, they then turned to face Ken. Ken's mother replied
"Yes, of course, Ken"
Ken's father blinked one eye, then smiled at Ken, and gave Ken a thumbs up
“Sure, good luck Ken”
Looking at his father, Ken smiled awkwardly with a surprised expression
"Okay, I'll go first"
Ken then ran away from here. Shitara sees Ken leaving with an astonished expression on his face.
Ken now is in his previous hiding place, watching the entrance to his grandfather's study, from behind a wall at corridor T-junction not far from there. Ken withdrew his gaze and sat leaning against the wall
“Oh my, how long should I wait…”
Ken looked at his watch while resting his cheek on his hand.
After some time of waiting, not long, he heard the sound of his grandfather's office door opening. Ken immediately got up and looked from behind the corner of the wall. It was seen that Makoto had just left his office, he then closed the door of his office, and walked away. It was clear that there was no action to lock the door from Makoto. Ken looked surprised
"It's true what dad said, there were times when Grandpa came out, but didn't lock the door to his office"
Ken immediately rushed and headed to his grandfather's office. Ken just walked into his grandfather's office and closed the door.
Inside the room is a classic European-style workspace, with a sofa chair and a small table, with bookcases and L-shaped glass shelves. At the end of the room, there is a carved porcelain woodwork desk, with a chair in front of it, and a work chair behind it. This work desk is located in front of the open windows, and a slight breeze comes in, blowing the window curtains. Ken rushed to his grandfather's desk and found what he was looking for, there was a key hanging behind this desk. Ken took it right away. At a glance, Ken saw that there was a notebook in the form of an agenda book on the desk, the contents of which were being written. But Ken didn't have time to look at it. Ken hangs his similar room key in the key holder he took, intending to trick his grandfather a little. Ken immediately ran away from here.
Ken ran to the place where the library room was, in another part of the 2nd floor. Arriving in front of the library door, Ken just walked in. Ken paused for a moment, fixing his breathing. Ken looked around, it appeared that he was the only one in the library, as far as his eyes could see. Ken walked to the part where there was a locked library. Arriving in front of the locked door, Ken took out the key he got from his grandfather's office, from his trouser pocket. Ken immediately tried to use the key on this door, and it was open. Ken looked surprised, he thought to himself
“To think that this is really the key…”
Ken opened the door in front of him. Once inside, Ken closed the door again, then locked it, so that no one could enter. Ken pulled this key and put it back into his pants pocket.
Inside the locked library room, this room has the same style as the library outside, but with books that look older. Ken walked in here, and looked around right and left. There are many shelves here, there are also high ones. Ken now is confused about where to start, he then decided to check the number 11 shelf first, which he knew from his father. Ken walked towards the shelf, he walked while looking at the numbers on this shelf that he passed one after another. Finally, Ken arrived at bookshelf number 11. Ken looked at the books here and found the title "Honoring Ceremony (Sealing)" Seeing the words in brackets, Ken's expression turned confused. Ken thought to himself
“Sealing? What does it mean?"
Ken brought this book, to read it, Ken then sat here leaning on the shelf. Ken opened this book, and read the contents. There is writing, written on the cover paper inside this book:
“Sealing, better known as the Ceremony of respect, or honoring ceremony, is carried out to rejuvenate the of the . This should not only be done but rather the , to keep the from dulling or even disappearing. Due to the loss of ties to , which resulted in the unavailability of the ”
Ken's expression turned surprised, he thought to himself
"The part of this article is intentionally deleted, I don't know what that means"
Ken turned to the next page, but there were only blank pages. Ken thought to himself
“The contents must have been ripped off and lost somewhere on purpose, for some reason …”
Ken's expression turned curious. Ken returned the book to its place, then went back to looking for the book he wanted to read. Ken looked at his watch again and estimate the time
“I wonder if I take a book from this library, will anyone notice? Does not seem…"
Ken continues reading books here, but Ken then realized that he could not linger here. After reading the books here briefly, Ken decided to bring a book entitled "The Takeru Family Shrine Restoration Log" Ken kept it under his shirt, then walked out of the locked library. Ken carefully opened the door to the main library, while making sure no one sees him, he then locked the door again.
Ken walked back to where his grandfather's office was, and watched patiently. After some time, Ken’s Grandfather walked out of his office, without locking the door again. Ken immediately rushed to go back in. Ken put the library key back in its original place and took back his room key which he used as a swindler. Ken then immediately left his grandfather's office.
