So this is the bloke my cousin has been crushing on since they were fourteen. I may or may not have read Harry’s journal. He seems pretty okay and we seem to have a bit in common. I think it's pretty obvious that they both like each other which is annoying because apparently this is the first time they're actually being civil towards each other. Seeing as Harrys been nothing but nice to me even though I was horrible to him, I think I'm going to make it my mission to help the two  get together before the end of the year. That sorting hat told me he brought me here to help Harry because this year is supposed to be the hardest year of his Hogwarts experience. 

  “Hey, you're Harry’s cousin Dudley right?” A dark haired boy asks me. “Yes I am. I know he might have mentioned how horrible I was before but I want you to know that I've changed a lot.” I have to defend myself quickly because I don't want another argument to occur. “Nah mate, it's alright. Harry already told most of us that you've changed so I think I can also forgive you. My name is Dean btw.” He pauses. “You're going to be sharing a bunk bed with Malfoy.” He frowns. “I suppose I should be nicer to him because he's trying to turn himself around or so I've heard. But mate, he was such a massive prick.” He laughs a bit. He turns to leave “We're having a dorm party to celebrate our final year but I'll see you around I suppose.” He waves bye to me. “Bye.” I say before he leaves the dorm. That felt a bit odd. At least he didn't try to pick a fight with me like Ron did. I need to go change for bed. “Hey Dud? Are you in there?” I hear Harry ask from the otherside of the door. “Yeah I'm here Harry. Wuddya need?” I thought he was with Draco at the dorm party. “Just wanted to check up on you. And maybe, possibly ask you something.” He responds. I step outside the bathroom. “I had to borrow some pajamas from your trunk if you don't mind.” I grin sheepishly. I didn't pack a single thing because I never thought I'd be here. “Oh we have to go clothes shopping as soon as we're allowed to go to hogsmeade.” He pauses and sighs. “I knew I would have to ask you this eventually, but do you know how your name got on that list? And how did you even get here?” He's sitting on a bed with his head tilted downwards.“That cool talking hat explained some things to me. He told me that the head of slytherin(?) I think that's what he told me. Anyways, he said that she brought me here to help you. Before you ask, I have no clue what I need to help you with, I just know that I'm supposed to help you.” His head perks up when I bring up the head of slytherin. “No way! The sorting hat told me to keep close tabs on her. She must be pretty powerful to bring you here.” “But why me? There's nothing special about me, I can't even do any magic.” I frown. “Well, you can see Hogwarts as a castle instead of a shack.” He offers. “Can we talk about this later Harry. I have to write mum a letter before I go to bed.” He nods. “I'll go check if the owlery is open.” He leaves the dorm room. I grab a pen and paper from my pocket. Mum always makes me keep a pen and paper on me in case I get lost or kidnapped. I don't know how it'll help, but it's become a habit. 

‘Dear Mum,

  I know you and dad are probably losing your minds worried over me but I'm safe. I'm with Harry at Hogwarts but we're still trying to figure out how I was on the list. If this doesn't get cleared up soon, Harry and I will see you at christmas.
