Marking the end of the day, the night has descended upon the Northern Pole.
The starry sky accompanied by the freezing air lingers adorn the tranquility of the night. A perfect symphony with the warmth of houses, filled with joy and familial feelings. A place to rest their heads.
It’s too late for anyone to do their activity at this hour, except for those who stay up late for some shady business.
“Ack!”
The sound of pounding abruptly echoed in the distance as the night got darker in the West District.
Countless bodies scatter around an alley from one end to another, leaving a single man helplessly cornered in the wall. Staring at the masked person enshrouded in black slowly come closer. Could be seen terror carved in his eyes.
“Please! Let me go! Ack!”
“Tch, Y’all are like being stubborn for not tellin’ me, huh?”
“Th-that’s not it! I don’t know where it is, I- Hmph!?”
“Enough bullshit.”
With a cold stare, the masked one gags up the man’s mouth with his foot. Choking him up with the shoes and dirt going down his throat.
“I ain’t draggin’ my ass here to hear y’all beggin’ and shit.”
The masked one pulls out his shoe. The poor man instantly takes a deep breath, spitting out every dust particle in his mouth. Coughing.
“Hold on tight.” Using one hand, the man’s body was dragged.
Hastily climbing up the building while carrying him. Reaching the rooftop in only a few steps, jumping from wall to wall. The man’s body immediately gets overthrown the moment they’re on top.
“Guh!”
“I ain’t have any time to waste. So, imma make it quick.”
He pins down the man with his legs before he even gets up. Doesn’t give him any chance to stand back on his feet.
“Say, where’s the warehouse?”
“I-I don’t know a thing I swear! I’m just a low crook for the boss!” he replied with a shaky answer.
“Is that so?” The masked one glared cynically.
“Wait, wait, wait! What are you going to do!?”
“Well... It can’t be helped.”
The masked quickly pulls the man’s clothes, dragging him to the edge of the building. Extending his arm, the man is left hanging freely as the masked one clutch his shirt. Leaving a panicked expression on the man’s face.
“Spit it out.”
“Are you crazy!?”
“Ain’t gonna be pretty if you end up falling from this height.”
Shortly the man resignedly obeys the instruction as he remains clinging to his hand, holding on for his life. A sigh slipped from his mouth seeing the pitiful sight of the man in his grasp.
“Out with it.” Snarled the masked one.
“I-I don’t know the place, but…”
“Hmm… I see…”
“Stop, stop! D-Don’t drop me off! I-I’m not finished!”
“Why are ya so agitated? I ain’t gonna do a thing… for now…”
“…”
“Keep talkin’!”
“Ah! Ye-yes, sir!” The man clears up his throat before continuing, “The boss doesn’t tell us the whereabouts of it to us low crook! So it’s useless asking us about it!”
“Is that all you’ve got to say after this mess…?” It could be felt, a faint breeze of disappointment passed by among those words. Realizing the change of atmosphere, the man quickly gulped down his saliva, piling up out of nervousness.
“I-I’m sorry! But… there’s should be some trucks around the place you’re looking for.”
“All those bastards that have gotten their shit kicked said the same thing. You’re no good.”
“Wh-Wait!” the man shouts in panic, making the grip not be released from him. “As far as I know… Bogatstvo Company is the one behind it.”
Upon hearing it, he raised his eyebrows, “…What a pain…”
For a moment, the masked one fell silent after hearing the answer. Staring at the ground beneath them blankly before speaking a word.
“Better get going…”
“Hey, you know what you’re doing, huh!?”
“Of course, who the hell do you think I am?” He replied with a slight frustration in his tone.
“You’re gonna be killed if mess with those guys!”
“Did ya even know whom you’re talkin’ to now?”
“Eek! I-I’m new here, I know nothing but the tasks the boss gives me!”
“What a pity…”
A cold stare stabs right through the man’s chest as he feels a dreadful aura coming out from the masked person. Pushing the man’s heart up to his throat as the sudden terror swells up inside him.
“Appreciate your patronage. Good night.”
“NO PLEASE! UWAAH!”
Without any hesitation, the masked one released his grip on the man’s shirt. Leaving him shouting for his dear life as he keeps falling straight to the ground and breaking the serenity of the starry night.
“Shit, he’s louder than expected.”
The masked person quickly jumped off the edge, running down the tall building. He leaps at the man and pulls his shirt before hitting the ground. Putting their faces side by side.
“Skullface…”
“Huh?”
“…The name that will haunt your life from now on.”
CRASH!
In one instance, the man’s body got thrown toward the building next to them. Making a gnawing hole from it. As the masked one lands on his feet, slowly he walks toward the unconscious man laying on the ground.
“Man, wish I could have a peaceful sleep like y’all.”
From afar, a man keeps his eyes vigilant as he sweeps his vision to the surrounding environment, observing from the tallest building nearby, with a tower-like structure. Perfect for scouting his surrounding
Following the instruction from the poor man earlier led Skullface to a certain part of West District. The only place where the seemingly serene neighborhood is in contrast with the commuting people around the dock.
“Some people they got there…” he lifts his finger, counting, “At least 23… 26… 30… 34… 37... douchebags guarding it. What a bother…”
After grasping the situation he’s going to dive in, he quickly jumps down from the tower and walks toward the edge of the building. A long sigh comes out of his mouth. He steeled his mind while cracking his right wrist. It’s been the umpteenth time in the day he cracks the dislocated joint.
Pulling up a thick cloth to cover half of his face, the jaw looks more like made from bones from the mask coloring. Not to forget, raising the hood above his head to completely conceal his face before going down.
For the last time, he takes a good deep breath before storming into the place. Glancing at the dark sky, looking for any red insignia that almost cost him a life last night.
“That chopper… I wonder who it was...”
