The half elven dude looks at me. His head goes up and down. " Sososo young man. What are you doing here this late?"
"I don't even know why I should talk with a failure like you?" Getting a bit mad at the audacity by this guy I continue "Imagine being proficient like you in magic and you can't even beat Sir Trystan with your dirty tactics. What I do is not something you should care about." He doesn't seem fazed by my insults. "Oh but my dear Thorry. I do care about what you are doing and besides It's no shame to lose to somebody like your precious instructor. I can't wait to see their faces when they announce me not guilty in the city." He laughs a bit and looks at my puzzled face. " You know the city your going to It isn't all sunshine there for people like me. Being the holy city of course is a reason but ever since Verbina got into power in the clergy, she just tries to keep stripping the mage guild of their seat and power in the city. She won't be containing free arcane knowledge for long though." Sighing I turn my attention now really at him." And why should I care about that?"
"Oh well you know the guy, sir Trystan he's your teacher right. I imagine hes already preaching to you that you need to be a beacon of hope and spewing his other nonsense. While he atleast tries that mages get better treatment in the city, doesn't mean he ain't really like the rest of them. We are openly oppressed and kids that try to learn arcane magic are frowned upon. So much that even adults start to bully them in the academy. They won't raise their finger for any my kind. if they are getting beat up or worse." Rubbing my eyes in annoyance because I am sure he is hyperbolic with his experience. " Yeah sure that's why I see Durxel or Alrik crying all the time. You need to think of a better story, my guy." He chuckles to himself. " Oh well, you will see. I am Raphael, so now that you know my name please remember It if you ever find yourself wrong about Tyrael City." I turn around just as he mumbles another word. "K...aa...r...'vana'sol."
"Well that won't work. You ain't got a focus to channel your magic." I start to walk away.
Once Thorry was away. Raphael spoke to himself again. " Maybe I was wrong. I need to send a message to master."
I returned to the tent. Rina in the meanwhile came back. She doesn't look like she rolled around a bush of nettles and branches anymore. Bjorn is silent as ever with Rina's presence here and Lurek apparently is already sleeping. I sit crossleged on my soft bedroll. " So Rina what did you need to do for Farielle." Annoyed she looks to me. Ready to vent. " I needed to catch her damn rabbit. While It's pretty cute the damnable thing is too fast and intelligent for a god damn rabbit. He kept running through thickets and hid itself in the ground. It even evaded most of my traps except the last one. WHICH I THINK HE TOOK OUT OF PITY! Argh I don't want to do It anymore" She suddenly lays her head on my lap. "I heard you impressed in the sparring and beat Lurek handidly and drawed with Bjorn." I don't mind her laying there but I look over to Bjorn. He got bit of a vacant expression but he smiles to me when he notices my apologetic face. " Yeah I did. Lurek was easy. He's more of a brawn without the strength to back It up. Though Bjorn was really impressive. For such a big dude he is pretty fast." She laughs a bit. " Yeah he is right?!? He needs to really work on his speech or rather talking at all. Right big guy?" Bjorns face flushes with red as he turns away. He just nods to us. She does know right? That he likes her pretty much? "Is It true that you only started training when you joined us back on the farm?"
"Well yeah I started training on the second day I think? Tomorrow I am supposed to start using a buckler to train with. Shields are still too big for me right now." Shocked at my statement, her eyes go wide. " Holy crap, you beat them without even training a full week?" She immediately starts touching my arms and belly. "Pheew what the hell does Trystan do with you? You arms and belly muscles are hard as rock!"
"Nothing much he just tells me to hit a dummy and increases the time in which I do. Tomorrow we also really start with different fighting forms. He only instructed me in the most defensive one till now." She looks at me now really amazed. "Damn your start is even more impressive than the one from sir Trystan that everyone raves about." She immediately sees the question form on my face and tells me. " Sir Trystan was called a prodigy when he started training in the city 12 years ago. It's said that after a month he was proficient in combat with greatswords, at a level that even fighters would be jealous of. Then to top it all of he even became the youngest to ever win the selection at 16 years old. That was 5 years ago." I feel something swell up inside of me as she tells me all of this. I feel hmmmm pride I think. Such a person wants to train me personally. " Wait why did Durxel tell me his condolences then when Trystan announced himself to train me personally?"
" Oh that, well his training methods that he inherited from his dwarven instructor Xalnurim are said to be brutal. Thats the only reason why but we need to go to bed now." She leaps up from my legs and starts snug herself in her bedroll. "Good night guys!" Shaking my head to Bjorn I too start to sleep. The day did leave me quite tired.
