Zeth blocked the telepathy when he heard footsteps…

His parents walked into his nook and moved the dangling leaves and vines out of the way. They both came and sat next to him. “Zeth, we’re very sorry but we don't want anything happening to you.” His mother said softly. Zeth ignored her. Zeth’s parents got up slowly and left to give him space.

Zeth reconnected to Lena. “LENA!”  Zeth screamed in his mind. “ I need your help to get  out of here.”

“Took you long enough what happened…? Get out of where?” 

“I'll explain later meet me outside the tunnel by my cave”

Where does he want me to help him escape to? I'll ask him when we get there.

Lena started leaving her cave when her mother stopped her at the entrance. “Where are you going at this time of day? The sun is going down and the vampires will be coming out.”

“I'm just going to get something, I'll be back later.” Lena was lying; she didn't do that often. “I'll be back before they come out. The vamps don't come out till the sun is all the way down so I should be fine.”

“Ok just be careful.” 

Lena ran outside and went to a secret tunnel that she built for Zeth. she waited until she saw his head pop out. He had a whole bag of stuff.

How long was he planning to be gone? Did he really need that much?

“Lena. Are you ready to go?” Zeth whispered so the pack didn't hear them.

“Yes I'm ready but how long are you planning to be gone? That's a lot of stuff for just the night. Right?”

“This is mostly just weapons I grabbed so the vampires can't get us. There's a bit of food but not that much.” Zeth was well prepared for a vampire attack; he's never seen a vampire; all he knew was Lena's dad and little sister were killed by them. He needed to make sure that didn't happen.

They started leaving and left the safety of the caves they were in the middle of the woods now. Sure there were lots of amazing creatures but there are also dangerous ones. Even unicorns can attack when they feel threatened. They have deadly venom in their horns so you have to be careful. 

Zeth and Lena suddenly froze when they heard rustling in the bushes…
