In the war torn province of Erabareta, there's the usually quiet capital city, Encers. It lies between a valley, protected by two mountains. On each side of the mountain, there are two lands. The land of the (insert the background of Basil's people), and the land of the Fae. The Fae used to rule the whole area, until human invasion. The humans caused such a commotion that all three went to war against each other. They all lost, but made a pact that the land would be split in three. The humans took the middle, Fae to the right behind the Garnar mountain range. The (insert the background of Basil's people) took refuge on the left side, behind the Athabasca mountain range. The (insert the background of Basil's people) and humans got along with each other, but the Fae despised the fact that their cousins were talking to the humans, and intermingling with each other. So, the Fae sent hoards of vampires to try and wipe out the population. The (insert the background of Basil's people) used mage lights to blind them, and the humans used iron swords to stab their hearts, causing their skin to char. The Fae decided that it was pointless to do this after a while. But, vampires infested the small series of tunnels under the town, until it got so bad that the humans had to clear it out. They made it into a shelter, and Vampires haven’t been there since. 

But, that’s besides the point. Our story begins after the war. The (insert the background of Basil's people) and humans still were trading, mingling, and living in harmony, while the Fae were quiet. They all knew the Fae were there, but no one bothered each other, so life was great for all of them. Encers, like mentioned above, was a quiet city. Small shops bussled, and houses were filled with laughter and the occasional quarrel. The castle overlooked the city, its arches and towers reflected the sun towards the city in the morning. The king and queen lived there with their son and daughter. Veric Elmst married Nsiria Hasca. She was a princess from a whole different province, she was a halfling, but a good halfling. King Veric and Queen Nsiria had two children. Phenix Alester Elmst and Raeve Leiea Elmst. Phenix was the first born son of the young couple, and aged well like a good fine wine against his sister, Raeve. She had also aged quite well, like a very pretty flower. She had dark black hair, dull light amber eyes, and pretty light tan skin. Her brother was similar, except his skin was a shade darker than hers because of the sun, and his amber eyes glimmered and teamed with the life that she thought she had. 

Phenix was hated by his father, the king. Phenix didn’t understand why he was hated by his father for merely breathing when he came out of the womb. But, Phenix didn’t let that stop him. And this is where our story begins.
