A long time ago, a perilous war broke out between dragons and humans who used to live in complete harmony with one another before the war took place. The events leading up to the war known as the Great Sorcerers’ War was when a sorcerer had put together the puzzle pieces, those very puzzle pieces being the hearts of dragons known as soul crystals.
It was rumored that putting together seven of these soul crystals would grant the user anything they desired. It was a mere rumor because most of the townspeople believed this single sorcerer was crazy for thinking such a thing was possible.
It wasn’t long before that rumor spread like wildfire to those with greedier intentions who put this so-called rumor to the test. It hadn’t been long before a band of sorcerers set out in the dead of night to find seven dragons, so they could carry out their experiment to see if there was any truth to that rumor they had heard about that required seven soul crystals that needed to be collected and combined in order for someone to be able to have their wish granted.
As anyone would have expected, the dragons the sorcerers had managed to capture were unwilling to participate in those sorcerers’ trials to get what their hearts most desired, and it didn’t matter to them what lengths they needed to go in order to obtain them.
That night those seven dragons were dragged into the basement of the lavish mansion that belonged to the Silver family, a sorcerer bloodline that was revered for their magical strength by the townspeople.
It wasn’t long before those seven dragons were slain, and their soul crystals were harvested to perform the ritual known as the Dragon’s Bloodline. Those very soul fragments were combined together to form a giant shimmering crystal that brightened up the dimly lit room that held the awe of the band of sorcerers that were present within the room.
What had those sorcerers asked for after their ritual had been a success was quite the easy answer that night; those sorcerers had asked for something simple to see if their trials had been fruitful, and what they got that night was loads of wealth more than a single person could handle alone.
Just as the rumor spread like wildfire with a single sorcerer when those sorcerer’s trail had provided fruitful results, they couldn’t keep their mouths shut for long, and pretty soon, everyone in that town wanted their ultimate desires to be granted, which sparked the bloody battle known as the Great Sorcerers’ War. With war comes costs that need to be paid, and both sides had paid with their very lives, and each passing day the carnage that piled up only seemed to grow as the sun burned brightly in the azure blue sky above.
When the last dragon was believed to have been slain, the talk about the Great Sorcerer’s War had slowly died down to mere whispers between the townspeople every so often.
But, what they hadn’t known at the time was that the dragon, who they believed was the last one, hadn’t been. All that remained out of the ashes from that war were six dragons who had their entire world torn down right in front of them, and the only comfort they could cling onto was the bond they held with each other.
It was the only thing that kept them moving forward, or their sanity would have been broken a long time ago.
