Sook-Ja arrives at Jung-Ho's office shortly after. She sits down at his desk across from him.
"Is everything alright?" Sook-Ja asks, wondering why he needs her help.
"Yeah. It’s just about the new project. I was just going through some files and needed to pick up more for a project." Jung-Ho explained.
Sook-Ja nods her head. "Sure. Whatever you say."
After a while he is staring at her.
"What?" she asks, wondering why Jung-Ho is looking at her that way.
"Nothing. Nothing is wrong," he replies, quickly looking away. Sook-Ja raises a brow and gives him a knowing look, but doesn't say anything else. She does wonder though what's going on, but decides to let it go. She continues to read through the files until she comes upon the one she needs.
"Ah!" she exclaims, holding up the page. "This is the right one." Jung-Ho leans over and takes a look, before nodding in agreement. "Okay, I should take my leave now." She smiles at Jung-Ho. "Goodbye." Jung-Ho returns a weak smile.
"See you later," he says quietly, not able to meet her eyes.
As Sook-Ja leaves the office Jung-Ho sighs. "Why is it so different when I am with her?" He mumbles to himself. "I really love seeing her." He shakes his head as he is done with talking to himself. "I should focus on my work she is already taken." Jung-Ho mutters to himself. His phone vibrates as someone sends him a text. He picks up his phone and checks who sent him that message. He let out a sigh when he read the message from his partner. His partner wants to meet him after two days for an urgent meeting. This means Jung-Ho has to go out of town and leave early in the morning. "I should ask Sook-Ja about it too." He mumbles before replying to his partners.
Sook-Ja reaches her apartment and unlocks it before heading in. She shuts the door behind her and places her keys on the counter, dropping down onto the couch. “Home sweet home,” she says to herself with a grin plastered across her face.
She closes her eyes and allows her head to fall back against the cushions. She sighs happily as a few moments pass and all the tension she was feeling begins to slip away from her.
That is until her phone rings. Sook-Ja frowns slightly at the interruption but picks up nonetheless.
“Hey, Sorry for interrupting you, Sook-Ja, but I have to tell you that there is an urgent meeting after two days. You need to go with me out of the town." Jung-Ho says. Sook-Ja sits up straight and blinks. A meeting? It's not like she has anything planned that day besides a couple hours of relaxation before going to sleep so why does he need her there? "I know it's the weekend but, please try to understand." Jung-Ho continues when Sook-Ja doesn't answer. There is a beat of silence where he doesn't say anything more then,
"Please?" He asks quietly, sounding genuinely worried about the idea of being without Sook-Ja.
"Ugh fine," Sook-Ja mutters. She hears him breathe a relieved sigh before hanging up. She turns back to the TV and flips through the channels. Nothing seems good enough or interesting enough for her to stay awake for so she decides to just go to bed.
On the other hand Jung-Ho sighs in relief. "Thank GOD, She agreed." He mumbles, his voice quiet with relief.
Sook-Ja gets up early in the morning as she needs to finish her packing and talk to Do-Yun. She already texts him and asks him to visit her place. "I think I should cook for him." She thinks and walks over to the kitchen.
After putting together some breakfast for herself, she sets the table and starts making eggs, bacon and pancakes. After about forty minutes, she's done everything but put them on the plates and make the drinks. "He should be here at ten, right? How do I look?" Sook-Ja says to herself after checking that she is clean enough to go meet him.
She washes up the dishes and puts them back in the dishwasher after drying her hands. She heads back into the living room to wait for him. The minute he knocks at the door, she opens it and hugs him tightly.
"Good morning, love." He kisses her cheek softly.
"Oh my gosh, Do-Yun! It's so good to see you!" she laughs. They step inside. "How are you?"
"Great," he smiles. "How long have you been waiting for me?"
"Not too long," she responds. She takes his hand and pulls him towards the living room.
"Let's eat first." Sook-Ja says as he sits on the couch.
"Sure, I don't mind waiting a bit." Do-Yun replies.
Sook-Ja goes back into the kitchen to get their food and bring it over. "Here we go," she says as she sets the bowls down on the coffee table in front of them. She sits next to him and digs in. Do-Yun does too. Once they're both finished, they sit there and stare at each other. "So... Are you ready to talk?" Sook-Ja asks as she plays with her fingers nervously.
Do-Yun nods slightly before answering. "Go on." Sook-Ja lets out a sigh and smiles. "I am going out of the city for an important project." Do-Yun looks at her in a shock. "Really? That's great news! When will you be back?" She can tell he's trying hard not to sound disappointed.
"Next Friday or Saturday at 6 AM. There's just a few more things I need to do before I leave." Sook-Ja tells him.
He nods again and takes another bite of his food. "I'm gonna miss you. We'll have to spend time together, won't we?"
"We will." Sook-Ja chuckles. "Is that all you wanted to talk about?"
"Yeah..." Sook-Ja says while scratching behind one of her ears.
Jung-Ho moves a little as the sunlight hits his face. He opens his eyes slowly.
When Jung-Ho's eyes finally adjust to the light, he groans and yawns. Jung-Ho looks at the table clock and sits up straight. "Oh, my god." he whispers to himself when he sees its only 12 PM. His eyes go wide as he realizes what has happened. He quickly jumps off the bed and starts getting dressed.
Mr. Choi, the caretaker, smiles as she sees Jung-Ho coming downstairs with a suitcase. "Are you going somewhere?" Mrs. Choi asks.
"Yeah," Jung-Ho answers, glancing around. Mrs. Choi smiles, "When will you come back?" She asks.
"Maybe, after a week." Jung-Ho replies, smiling slightly.
Mrs. Choi nods before taking her leave. "Have a safe journey."
Jung-Ho nods at her before heading out the door. "I hope she won't be angry." Jung-Ho whispers while thinking of Sook-Ja. He gets in his car and lets out a sigh before starting the engine. As the car starts he drives, leaving his home behind.
"Take my hand, I am here with you." He says in a deep husky voice catching her out of gaud. "I can't, I can't do it, please go. Save yourself." She yells back as the car's brakes fail.
"Dr, Dr. I can't see." While panicking she cries. "I am sorry Sir, she lost her eyes." His body gets numb and drops himself on the bench near him.
"But, you always said you love me." "I am sorry. I can't stay with you, it's about my whole life." "I always treated you like my sister. How could you do that to me?"
"Who's gonna earn money for us now grandpa?" Little boy says, glancing at his blind sister. "I wish I could die."
